Los Angeles Chargers @ Jacksonville Jaguars – 8:15PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Chargers have finally got themselves back to the playoffs after coming so close at the end of last season. Austin Ekeler is having the best year of his career and if he keeps it up, he could very well take this team through a few upsets, and then to the AFC championship game. However, the Chargers are likely the favoured in this game despite being a wild card and having to go on the road to Jacksonville. As this is a young Jaguars team, with no real playoff experience under their belt.

The turnaround of the Jacksonville Jaguars from this time last year to now is nothing short of incredible. As former college teammates, Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne carried the Jacksonville Jaguars to an AFC south divisional title. Down the stretch they were the hottest team in the entire league and they clinched their division championship in a week 18 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, who are the favourites in the division all season long. I have the Jaguars, picking up the upset victory in this one on their own home field and advancing to the divisional round, and likely hosting another game.

SportsTips’ NFL Pick:

Jacksonville Jaguars (+120)

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills – 1PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Miami Dolphins have had an incredible year under first year head coach Mike McDaniel. However, it is fair to say that their success tailed off towards the end of the season once their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa started having injury issues. He has been battling concussions all year and that is why he will miss this wild card game against the Buffalo Bills. That is going to end up being Miami’s ultimate demise in my opinion, as I just cannot see them keeping up with Buffalo with a backup quarterback, starting in Tagovailoa’s place.

The Buffalo Bills have had a season of ups and downs early on in the year they reach the highest of highs in a few Mondays ago they were at the lowest of lows. This team now seems destined to not only make a run to the Super Bowl, but bring home the first super bowl and what a way It would be the cap off this memorable season. I think the Buffalo Bills are going to pick up the victory in this game at home against the shorthanded Miami dolphins and set themselves up for a divisional matchup with either the Cincinnati Bengals or the Jacksonville Jaguars.

SportsTips’ NFL Pick:

Buffalo Bills -13.5 (-110)

New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings – 4:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New York Giants gained a ton of criticism over the season, and one of them was the fact that their offense often struggled to produce for the majority of the year. However, they became the benefit of a very weak NFC conference, and I’ve made it into the playoffs, or they will face off with the NFC North division champions, the Minnesota Vikings. It’ll be interesting to see if they can make up for their loss earlier in the season to the Vikings and how Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley both perform.

The Minnesota Vikings have a unique opportunity in this one as they have already played this team once in the regular season. The outcome of this game will depend on which version of Kirk Cousins and which version of Justin Jefferson decide to show up to US Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon. However, I think that same ugly problem will rear its head for the New York Giants as I believe they will struggle to put the ball into the endzone and when the final whistle sounds, I think Minnesota will come out on top.

SportsTips’ NFL Pick:

Minnesota Vikings (-160)

Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals – 8:15PM ET

Tony Battalio

It’ll be interesting to see how the Baltimore Ravens perform without star quarterback, Lamar Jackson, at the helm for this game. They have looked like a completely different team without Jackson starting under center so far this season and I look for them to come up short again in this one. As I just can’t see anybody competing with the Cincinnati Bengals right now, as I have the Bengals pegged to be one of the two teams in the AFC conference championship as long as they avoid the Buffalo Bills in the second round.

The Cincinnati Bengals offense is clicking like it hasn’t clicked before they look even better than I did last season when they made their incredible and nearly improbable Super Bowl run. I expect another solid game out of Joe Burrow in company as he looks to leave the Bengals to another playoff win and start the journey to a second consecutive AFC championship. I have the Cincinnati Bengals winning this game comfortably over their AFC North division rivals the Baltimore Ravens.

SportsTips’ NFL Pick:

Cincinnati Bengals -8.5 (-110)

Dallas Cowboys @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 8:15PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Dallas Cowboys have had an incredible season however, the one thing that they have struggled with in the past after an incredible regular season, was finding postseason success. They will be looking to avoid the same let down that they have experienced over the last several years, and they will be looking to finally get a playoff win, and in my opinion, they could have not gotten a worse draw. As they will have to go to Tampa Bay and face off against Tom Brady, a guy that they have never beaten.

The Tampa Bay buccaneers look nothing like the same team that won a Super Bowl a couple years ago. They’re running game is diminished, and their defense has been incredibly lackluster over the past few seasons. Even there, star quarterback, and one of the greatest players of all time Tom Brady is seemingly regressed as he enters yet another year in the league. However, there’s just something about Tom Brady in the playoffs that makes him hard to go against and I think they will upset the Dallas Cowboys here in round one.

SportsTips’ NFL Pick:

TB Bucs (+120)
