The Washington Wizards (32-38, 16-17 Home) will try to slow down the NBA’s top scoring team when they play host to the Sacramento Kings (42-27, 21-13 Away) on Saturday.
Sacramento topped the Brooklyn Nets 101-96 at Barclays Center on Thursday, their sixth win in a row away from home. Domantas Sabonis led the way with 24 points, 21 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks.
The Kings are the second seed in the Western Conference. Washington is playing on back-to-back days after losing in blowout fashion yesterday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-94. Bradley Beal had 22 points and eight rebounds in the loss to lead the team.
The Wizards are 10th in the Eastern Conference. The teams are meeting for the last time this season. Washington will be looking for a season sweep against Sacramento after triumphing in the only prior meeting 125-111 at Golden 1 Center in December 2022.
Kyle Kuzma led the Wizards with 32 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. De’Aaron Fox had 26 points in the loss. Fox is averaging 25.5 points per game to lead the Kings in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Sabonis is contributing 12.6 rebounds, most in the league, and 7.1 assists per game.
Kristaps Porzingis and Kuzma have supplied much of the Wizards’ offense, averaging 22.8 and 21.0 points per game, respectively. Porzingis also has averaged 8.5 rebounds per game. Monte Morris has distributed 5.2 assists per game.
The Kings rank as the most explosive offense in the league with 120.9 points per game. The Kings have come up short in recent trips to Capital One Arena, losing six of the last 10. Meanwhile, the Wizards are 7-6 this season when playing on consecutive nights and 4-5 in such games against rested opponents.
