The Raptors are the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. San Antonio won on Sunday at AT&T Center, beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-98. Keldon Johnson had 25 points and eight assists, carrying the team. The Spurs are fourth in the Western Conference, 0.5 games behind the Phoenix Suns.
It’s the first meeting of the season between the teams. Toronto won both games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 119-104 triumph at AT&T Center on March 9, their third straight head-to-head victory. Fred VanVleet led the Raptors with 26 points and six rebounds. Johnson had 27 points in the loss.
Siakam is averaging 26.1 points per game to lead the Raptors in scoring this season. Siakam also has grabbed 9.6 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, VanVleet is dishing 7.7 assists.Johnson has supplied much of the Spurs’ offense, averaging 23.9 points per game. Jakob Poeltl is collecting 11.4 rebounds per game, seventh-most in the league, and Tre Jones is distributing 5.3 assists.
The Spurs are one of the top scoring offenses in the NBA, ranking second with 118.0 points per game. The Raptors are only 2-8 in their last 10 visits to AT&T Center.
