San Antonio lost in blowout fashion on Tuesday at Footprint Center, falling to the Phoenix Suns 115-94. Malaki Branham recorded 21 points to lead the team in scoring in the losing effort. With 20 points and nine assists, Tre Jones also impressed. The Spurs are the 14th seed in the Western Conference.
This marks the last meeting of the season between the teams. Portland will be seeking a season sweep against San Antonio after earning the win in all three of their previous games, the last of which was a 147-127 victory at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter on January 23, their third straight head-to-head victory.
Damian Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 37 points and 12 assists. Keldon Johnson had 20 points in defeat. Lillard is averaging 32.2 points per game, third-highest in the NBA, to lead the Blazers in scoring this season. Lillard also has dished 7.3 assists per game, 10th-most in the league.
Meanwhile, Drew Eubanks is grabbing 5.3 rebounds. Johnson (22.0 ppg) has been the primary provider for the Spurs on offense. Zach Collins is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game, and Jones is tallying 6.4 assists. The Trail Blazers are making the first trip to face the Spurs at Moody Center.
