The Detroit Pistons (11-30, 6-17 Away) head to face the San Antonio Spurs (12-26, 7-13 Home), who will be out to snap their losing streak, on Friday. Detroit squeaked by the Golden State Warriors 122-119 at Chase Center on Wednesday.
Bojan Bogdanovic led the way with 29 points. The Pistons are 15th in the Eastern Conference. San Antonio lost their third in a row in a close one on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden, falling to the New York Knicks 117-114. Keldon Johnson had 26 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort to lead the team.
The Spurs are the 14th seed in the Western Conference. The teams are meeting for the first time this season. Detroit and San Antonio split their matchups last season, winning one apiece. The Pistons won the last meeting 117-116 in overtime at Little Caesars Arena in January 2022.
Hamidou Diallo led the Pistons with 34 points, 14 rebounds, and five steals. Bryn Forbes had 27 points, seven rebounds, and two assists in defeat. Bogdanovic is averaging 21.1 points per game to lead the Pistons in scoring this season.
Meanwhile, Jalen Duren is grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game, and Killian Hayes is dishing 5.5 assists. Johnson and Devin Vassell have supplied much of the Spurs’ offense, averaging 21.6 and 19.4 points per game, respectively. Jakob Poeltl is collecting 9.3 rebounds per game, and Tre Jones is tallying 6.5 assists.
The Pistons have had limited success at AT&T Center in recent seasons, losing nine of the last 10 games. Detroit is 3-7 in the last 10 games with an average margin of -8.2 (114.4-122.6). San Antonio has also a 3-7 record over the last 10, allowing 122.4 points per game on average while scoring only 115.9 (-6.5 margin).
