Two sensational offenses clash on Friday when the Chicago Bulls (3-2, 1-1 Away) head to face the San Antonio Spurs (3-2, 0-1 Home). Chicago topped the Indiana Pacers 124-109 at United Center on Wednesday. Zach LaVine was a top performer with 28 points and six rebounds. The Bulls are the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference.
San Antonio fell short on Wednesday at Target Center, falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves 134-122. Keldon Johnson topped the scoresheet in the losing effort with 27 points. With 11 points and 10 assists, Josh Richardson also played a part. The Spurs are trailing the Portland Trail Blazers by one game in the Western Conference, currently sitting in fourth.
The teams are meeting for the first time this season. Chicago and San Antonio split their matchups last season, winning one game apiece. The Bulls got the win in the last meeting 120-109 at United Center on February 14. DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 40 points and seven assists. Lonnie Walker IV had 21 points in defeat.
The Bulls have been led so far this season by DeRozan and LaVine, who are averaging 24.8 and 23.3 points per game, respectively. DeRozan also has dished 5.4 assists per game. Meanwhile, Nikola Vucevic is grabbing 11.8 rebounds per game. Johnson (21.8 ppg) and Devin Vassell (19.8) have been the primary providers of the Spurs’ offense.
Vassell also has distributed 4.5 assists per game. Jakob Poeltl has averaged 10.6 rebounds per game. The Bulls and the Spurs are the two highest-scoring teams in the NBA with 111.2 points per game on average. The Bulls have come up short in recent games at AT&T Center, losing seven of the last 10.
