Sacramento won a close one on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center, beating the Denver Nuggets 127-126. Malik Monk topped the scoresheet with 33 points. With 31 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, Domantas Sabonis also played a part. The Kings are sixth in the Western Conference.
This is the first meeting of the season between the teams. Utah swept all four games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 134-125 triumph at Vivint Arena on March 12, their eighth straight head-to-head victory. Jordan Clarkson led the Jazz with 45 points, two assists, one steals, and one blocks.
De’Aaron Fox had 41 points and 11 assists in defeat. Markkanen and Clarkson, averaging 23.2 and 20.3 points per game, respectively, have led the Jazz in scoring this season. Markkanen also has grabbed 8.4 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Mike Conley is dishing 7.5 assists per game. Fox (23.6 ppg) has supplied much of the Kings’ offense. Sabonis is posting 12.3 rebounds, most in the NBA, and 6.7 assists per game. The Kings and the Jazz rank as two of the highest-scoring teams in the league, second and fourth in points per game, respectively.
