The Phoenix Suns (40-35, 24-12 Home) will try to slow down one of the league’s top shooting teams when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves (39-37, 18-20 Away) on Wednesday. Minnesota topped the Sacramento Kings 119-115 at Golden 1 Center on Monday, their fourth win in a row.
With 20 points, Jaden McDaniels was the scoring leader. Kyle Anderson chipped in with 15 points and 11 assists. The Timberwolves are seventh in the Western Conference.
Phoenix got the win on Monday at Vivint Arena, beating the Utah Jazz 117-103. Devin Booker had 24 points and seven rebounds, leading the team.
The Suns are fourth in the Western Conference. It’s the final meeting of the season between the teams. Minnesota will be looking to even the season series after triumphing in only one of the three earlier meetings, including a 121-116 victory at Target Center on January 13.
Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 31 points and six rebounds. Damion Lee had 31 points and six rebounds in the loss.Edwards is averaging 24.5 points per game to lead the T’Wolves in scoring this season.
Meanwhile, Rudy Gobert is grabbing 11.6 rebounds per game, fourth-most in the NBA, and D’Angelo Russell is dishing 6.2 assists. Deandre Ayton and Mikal Bridges have supplied much of the Suns’ offense, averaging 18.0 and 17.2 points per game, respectively. Ayton also has averaged 10.0 rebounds per game.
Chris Paul has distributed 9.1 assists per game. The Timberwolves are one of the league’s most accurate field goal shooting teams, ranking third at 49.1%. The Timberwolves have come up short more often than not in recent trips to Footprint Center, losing six of the last 10.
