The Phoenix Suns (37-31, 22-11 Home), one of the league’s top scoring defenses, play host to the Milwaukee Bucks (49-19, 21-13 Away) on Tuesday. Both teams will be playing the second of a back-to-back.
The Bucks are 8-1 without a day off, while the Suns are 5-4. Milwaukee topped the Sacramento Kings 133-124 at Golden 1 Center yesterday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 46 points and 12 rebounds.
The Bucks are 1.5 games ahead of the Boston Celtics atop the Eastern Conference, currently sitting in first. Phoenix lost yesterday at Chase Center, falling to the Golden State Warriors 123-112. Devin Booker had 32 points in defeat to lead the team.
The Suns are the fourth seed in the Western Conference.The teams are meeting for the final time this season. Milwaukee will be pursuing a season sweep against Phoenix after earning the win in the only prior matchup 104-101 at Fiserv Forum on February 26. Jrue Holiday led the Bucks with 33 points.
Booker had 24 points in defeat. Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.5 points per game, fourth-highest in the NBA, to lead the Bucks in scoring this season.
Antetokounmpo also has grabbed 11.9 rebounds per game, third-most in the NBA. Meanwhile, Holiday is dishing 7.3 assists. Deandre Ayton (18.1 ppg) and Mikal Bridges (17.2) have supplied much of the Suns’ offense.
Ayton also has pulled down 10.1 rebounds per game, eighth-most in the NBA, while Bridges has distributed 3.6 assists per game. The Suns are holding opponents to 111.3 points per game, ranking as one of the toughest scoring defenses in the NBA (4th).
The Bucks have come up short more often than not in recent games at Footprint Center, losing six of the last 10. In the last 10 games, Milwaukee is 8-2 with an average margin of +8.7 (123.7-115.0).
