The Los Angeles Clippers (14-11, 7-5 Away), one of the NBA’s top shooting defenses, travel to face the Orlando Magic (5-20, 4-9 Home) on Wednesday. Orlando dropped their ninth in a row on Monday at Amway Center, falling to the Milwaukee Bucks 109-102. Franz Wagner led the team in scoring in defeat with 25 points. With 19 points and 12 rebounds, Moritz Wagner also had an impressive game. The Magic are 15th in the Eastern Conference.
The teams are meeting for the first time this season. Los Angeles won both games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 111-102 triumph at Amway Center on January 26. Amir Coffey led the Clippers with 19 points. Wagner had 21 points in the loss. Norman Powell (14.8 ppg), Marcus Morris Sr. (13.6), and John Wall (12.8) have led the Clips in scoring this season.
Powell leads the NBA in scoring. Wall also has dished 5.7 assists per game, most in the NBA. Meanwhile, Ivica Zubac is grabbing 11.5 rebounds per game. Paolo Banchero (21.7 ppg) and Wagner (19.3) have supplied much of the Magic’s offense. Banchero leads the NBA in scoring, while Wagner is first.
Banchero also has distributed 3.8 assists per game, most in the NBA. Bol Bol has averaged 7.5 rebounds per game. The Clippers are holding foes to one of the NBA’s lowest FG%, ranking fourth at 45.4%.The Clippers are an impressive 9-1 in their last 10 trips to Amway Center. Orlando has lost six straight at home this season.
