The Miami Heat (29-25, 17-9 Home), one of the NBA’s top scoring defenses, welcome the Indiana Pacers (25-30, 8-18 Away) on Wednesday.
Indiana was outplayed by the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-103 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sunday. Myles Turner led the way in defeat with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks. The Pacers are 11th in the Eastern Conference.
Miami dropped their last game on Saturday at Fiserv Forum, falling to the Milwaukee Bucks 123-115. Jimmy Butler had 32 points and eight rebounds in defeat, carrying the team. The Heat are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
The teams are meeting for the last time this season. Miami will be looking to level the season series after triumphing in only one of the three previous games. Indiana won the last showdown 111-108 at FTX Arena in December 2022.
Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 43 points and seven assists. Tyler Herro had 28 points in the losing effort. Haliburton (20.0 ppg), Turner (17.7), and Buddy Hield (17.4) have led the Pacers in scoring this season.
Turner also has grabbed 8.1 rebounds per game, while Haliburton has dished 10.3 assists per game, most in the NBA. Butler (21.9 ppg), Bam Adebayo (21.5), and Herro (20.4) have supplied much of the Heat’s offense.
Adebayo also has collected 10.0 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry has doled out 5.3 assists per game. The Heat rank as one of the toughest scoring defenses in the NBA, second-best with 108.4 points per game allowed.
The Pacers are 6-4 in the last 10 trips to FTX Arena. Indiana is looking to reverse a nine-game losing skid away from home this season. Miami has won six in a row at home this season.
