The Denver Nuggets (52-26, 19-19 Away), the NBA’s top shooting team, head to face the Houston Rockets (19-60, 13-27 Home) on Tuesday. Denver narrowly defeated the Golden State Warriors 112-110 at Ball Arena on Sunday.
Michael Porter Jr. was a top performer with 29 points and 11 rebounds. The Nuggets are first in the Western Conference, two games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies. Houston lost in blowout fashion on Sunday at Toyota Center, falling to the Los Angeles Lakers 134-109.
Jalen Green led the team in scoring in the losing effort with 24 points. With 18 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks, Alperen Sengun also produced a strong performance. The Rockets are 15th in the Western Conference.
This is the last meeting of the season between the teams. After winning all three of the prior season matchups against Houston, the last of which was a 133-112 victory at Toyota Center on February 28, their 10th straight head-to-head victory, Denver will be pursuing a season sweep.
Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with 32 points and six assists. Tari Eason had 17 points and 12 rebounds in the losing effort. Nikola Jokic is averaging 24.6 points per game to lead the Nuggets in scoring this season. Jokic also is contributing 11.7 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game, placing him fourth and fourth in the league, respectively.
Green (22.1 ppg) and Kevin Porter Jr. (19.0) have powered the Rockets on offense. Porter Jr. also has distributed 5.7 assists per game. Sengun has pulled down 8.8 rebounds per game. Shooting 50.5% from the field, the Nuggets are the NBA’s most accurate field goal shooting team.
