Alperen Sengun had 33 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks in the losing effort to lead the team. The Rockets are the 15th seed in the Western Conference. This marks the first meeting of the season between the teams. Charlotte and Houston split their matchups last season, winning one game apiece.
The Hornets took the last meeting 123-99 at Spectrum Center in December 2021. Terry Rozier led the Hornets with 27 points. Trevelin Queen had 17 points in the losing effort. The Hornets have been led this season by Rozier and Kelly Oubre Jr., who are averaging 20.8 and 20.2 points per game, respectively.
Rozier also has dished 5.3 assists per game. Meanwhile, Plumlee is grabbing 9.8 rebounds per game. Jalen Green (21.5 ppg) and Kevin Porter Jr. (19.2) have supplied much of the Rockets’ offense.
Porter Jr. also has doled out 5.6 assists per game. Sengun has pulled down 8.7 rebounds per game. The Hornets have struggled in recent games at Toyota Center, losing nine of the last 10.
Charlotte is looking to end a three-game losing streak away from Spectrum Center this season. Houston is looking to avoid a 10th straight defeat at home this season. In the last 10 games, Charlotte is 2-8 with an average margin of -6.5 (115.6-122.1).
