The Dallas Mavericks (28-25, 9-16 Away) will try to slow down one of the NBA’s top scoring teams when they head to face the Golden State Warriors (26-26, 19-6 Home) on Saturday.
Dallas beat the New Orleans Pelicans 111-106 at American Airlines Center on Thursday. Luka Doncic was the key player with 31 points and eight rebounds. The Mavericks are the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
Golden State dropped their last game on Thursday at Ball Arena, falling to the Denver Nuggets 134-117. Stephen Curry had 28 points in defeat to lead the team. The Warriors are the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
The teams are meeting for the final time this season. Dallas will be seeking a season sweep against Golden State after earning the win in the only prior meeting 116-113 at American Airlines Center in November 2022.
Doncic led the Mavericks with a triple double, recording 41 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists. Curry had 32 points in the loss. The Mavs have been led this season by Doncic, who is averaging 33.4 points per game, second-highest in the league.
Doncic also is contributing 8.2 assists, fifth-most in the NBA, and 8.9 rebounds per game. Curry (29.7 ppg) has supplied much of the Warriors’ offense. He has the ninth-best scoring average in the league. Kevon Looney is pulling down 8.6 rebounds per game, and Draymond Green is doling out 6.7 assists.
The Warriors are one of the top scoring offenses in the league, ranking third with 118.0 points per game. The Mavericks are 4-4 in eight visits to Chase Center.
