Dallas Mavericks @ Golden State Warriors – 9pm ET

The dream is still alive for the Dallas Mavericks, as they managed to pull out the win against the Golden State Warriors in Game 4. But the Mavericks are still facing elimination, as the Warriors hold a 3-1 series lead, and tonight the Mavericks need to get the win on the road.

Jeffery Thomas

The Dallas Mavericks kept their season alive with a 119-109 win at home in Game 4 to stave off elimination. It wasn’t the best shooting night for Luka Doncic but he still came away with 30 points to lead the way. The three ball was a huge advantage for the Mavs also, as they outscored Golden State 60 to 30 from long range, in large part thanks to Reggie Bullock’s 6-10 shooting from deep. I expected Dallas to extend the series but this is where things end, especially given the fact that the Warriors are still unbeaten at home in these playoffs winning by an average of 15 points.

The Mavericks do own a win over the Warriors in Golden State this season though, beating them 107-101 back in the regular season, but this is a whole different ball game now with much higher stakes. I think this is the night we have our first ticket punched to the NBA Finals as the Warriors continue their amazing playoff run.

Jeffery’s NBA Pick: Golden State Warriors (-300)

Noah Dunlap

Is tonight the night that we get the first team into the NBA Finals for this season? The Golden State Warriors are one win away, and head home for Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. This is a game that I think, based on what we’ve seen so far in this series, you kind of have to assume that Golden State gets the win. Apart from a brief quarter-long stretch or so in Game 2, they’ve dominated both games in the Bay so far in the conference finals, and I could see that continuing here. I like Steph Curry to come alive in this one, and get some solid help from guys like Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole, as the Warriors manage to put real pressure on Dallas. There’s no question the Golden State offense is going to show up at home, the question is whether their defense plays well enough to keep Dallas from keeping pace.

For the Mavericks, the question still has to be based around how much help Luka Doncic gets from the rest of his roster. If he can get some real help from guys like Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Jalen Brunson, they do have a chance here, but that’s asking a lot from the Mavs, especially on the road. They’re a team that has played reasonably well at home so far in the postseason, but they have struggled quite a bit on the road, and that has to be a concern. As for this one, give me the Dubs to wrap this one up at home, in the 7-10 range, as I think Luka manages to keep it close, but in the end, he doesn’t have quite enough to extend the series any more.

Noah’s NBA Pick: Golden State Warriors -7 (-110)

Tony Battalio

The Dallas Mavericks saved their season with their win in Game 4 but now they will have to find a way to do it again in Game 5, 6 and 7 if they want to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in over a decade. If they can manage to play in this game like they played on Tuesday evening, they then may just be able to push this series back to Dallas for Game 6. In fact they have been pretty close to grabbing wins earlier in the series but just couldn’t quite get over the hump.

The Golden State Warriors looked horrible in Game 4. As they found themselves down double digits for the majority of the game. Now they will be looking to bounce back in Game 5 and secure the series victory at home in San Francisco. The Warriors are an experienced team who has been here before and that gives them the advantage in this game, and combining with their home court advantage, I think it will be enough to get them over the top in this game.

Tony’s NBA Pick: Golden State Warriors (-300)
