Free NBA Picks Today for Sunday, February 28th, 2021
Sun 28th February 2021

Our NBA picks have 27 bets across all nine of tonight’s games!

Can the Houston Rockets or Minnesota Timberwolves snap their massive losing streaks and who will win the headline afternoon clash between the Clippers and the Bucks?

We have all of the answers for you in our NBA picks below.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Milwaukee Bucks – 3:30PM ET

A marquee matchup between two of the league’s best teams and some of their best stars as well. The Los Angeles Clippers continue their road trip against the Milwaukee Bucks this afternoon, and the home side have been strengthened with the inclusion of Jrue Holiday after a 10 game absence.

The Bucks went just 5-5 without him but are on a four game winning streak at the moment and will be confident heading into this clash. Both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton scored over 30 points in their 129-125 win over New Orleans on Thursday night but will want a better full team performance after having less assists and less rebounds in the clash.

Their opponents come in with some mixed form, splitting a back to back set in Memphis but winning the most recent of the two, 119-99. Kawhi Leonard stepped up to the plate to ensure his team didn’t lose two straight to the Grizzlies, putting up a massive 30 points, nine rebounds and seven rebounds.

The battle between two of the top three rated offenses in the league will be very exciting and should be close but we are siding with the home side for this one. They have had an extra night off to prepare and their 13-4 home record is enough to get them over the line.

NBA Pick – Milwaukee Bucks (-120)
NBA Spread – Milwaukee Bucks -2 (-105)
Total Points Pick – Over 236 (-110)

Washington Wizards @ Boston Celtics – 7PM ET

The Boston Celtics are finally back on the winners list but will they still be there after their clash with the Washington Wizards tonight? The Wizards have won seven of their last eight games, a streak that started with a 104-91 home win over the Celtics.

Bradley Beal had 35 points in that clash and added another 34 points last night in a 128-112 win over Minnesota. Beal continues to pace the league in scoring and the Wizards will need another A+ performance from him for a win in Boston tonight.

The Celtics will come in with a bit of confidence after snapping their three game losing streak with a 118-112 win over Indiana on Friday night. Kemba Walker had a season high 32 points while Rob Williams had a great game off the bench with 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.

The form from that win doesn’t quite hold up as Indiana then went and lost in New York the next night and have now lost four of their last five games. Washington on the other hand have some incredible form of late and have been winning at home and on the road so the trip to Boston shouldn’t be an issue.

NBA Pick – Washington Wizards (+180)
NBA Spread – Washington Wizards +5.5 (-110)
Total Points Pick – Under 231.5 (-110)

Chicago Bulls @ Toronto Raptors – 7PM ET

*Update: This game was postponed due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, a new date has not been confirmed at this time*

The Chicago Bulls had their three game winning streak snapped by Phoenix on Friday night but will look to get back on track when they travel down to Tampa to take on the Toronto Raptors tonight.

A 122-111 win over Houston isn’t very impressive but was a game Toronto needed to halt a two game skid and find some form before this Eastern Conference showdown. Norman Powell had a 30 point night while Kyle Lowry had a 20 point triple double in the win.

Toronto have climbed up to fourth in the Eastern Conference with their recent good form but are just 8-7 at home, while Chicago are 8-7 on the road. Their loss to Phoenix was at home so they may enjoy getting back out of Chicago for this one. Zach LaVine had 24 points in the game while Thad Young had a 13 point, 10 rebound double double off the bench.

This is an intriguing matchup but Toronto have been playing quite good at the moment and should be able to notch up another win here.

New York Knicks @ Detroit Pistons – 8PM ET

The Detroit Pistons let a win escape from them on Friday night, losing to a struggling Sacramento side that lost to the New York Knicks by 19 points just one night earlier. Meanwhile the Knicks have won two straight and have looked the goods at home.

This one will be in Detroit however and the Knicks, 10-7 at home, are just 7-10 on the road this season. Julius Randle had a big night against the Pacers last night with 28 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and four steals while RJ Barrett had a good scoring night with 24 points.

Despite a 107-110 home loss to the Kings, Jerami Grant had a good night with 30 points and seven rebounds while Saddiq Bey and Dennis Smith Jr, who got traded from New York just weeks ago, both scored 17.

While this is a road game for the Knicks, we like them to win in Detroit. New York allows the fewest points per game and their defense is rated third best in the league. That should be enough to slow the Pistons down and pick up a win.

NBA Pick – New York Knicks (-115)
NBA Spread – New York Knicks -1 (-110)
Total Points Pick – Under 215 (-110)

Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat – 8PM ET

The Miami Heat just did something that not many other teams can say they have this season, beat the Utah Jazz. A 124-116 home win was extremely impressive and they will get an opportunity to add a sixth straight win when they host the Atlanta Hawks tonight.

Jimmy Butler had a massive night with 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists while Goran Dragic, in his second game back from injury, had a massive 26 points off the bench. Miami shot over 50% from the field, over 40% from deep in the win and now face an Atlanta side that’s defense is ranked just 24th.

The Hawks have had an inconsistent last five games, going 2-3. Both wins happened to be at home while all three losses were on the road, where they are for tonight’s clash. John Collins top scored with 25 and Clint Capela added a massive 17 points, 21 rebounds and four blocks but Trae Young scored just 17 on 33.3% shooting.

Given Miami have won five straight and are at home in this win, we like them to add another win to the tally. The Hawks are just 6-10 on the road this season and with Dragic back in the fold, the Heat will just have too many options.

NBA Pick – Miami Heat (-160)
NBA Spread – Miami Heat -6.5 (-110)
Total Points Pick – Under 222.5 (-110)

Memphis Grizzlies @ Houston Rockets – 8PM ET

The Houston Rockets have now lost a league worst 10 straight games and will look to snap that streak when they host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. The Grizzlies are a tough one to gauge as they split a home set with the Clippers, who are second in the West and have the second best record in the league.

They followed up a 28 point win with a 20 point loss, unable to stay consistent against LA. Jonas Valanciunas put up 22 points and 11 rebounds while Ja Morant had 20 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals, but it wasn’t enough as they managed just 99 points in the loss.

They will need a better showing across the board to hand the Rockets their 11th straight loss. In their 111-122 performance against Toronto, Victor Oladipo had 27 points and John Wall had 21 points and 12 assists but their defense was the issue, giving up too many points and allowed the Raptors to shoot too well.

The Rockets do perform better when at home but with Christian Wood still out, it is hard to see them turning their fate around. We like Memphis to get the win on the road here.

NBA Pick – Memphis Grizzlies (-160)
NBA Spread – Memphis Grizzlies -2.5 (-110)
Total Points Pick – Over 222 (-110)

Golden State Warriors @ Los Angeles Lakers – 8PM ET

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors have won three straight games and will look to add another when they get on the road play the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. This will be the second matchup of the season between these two sides, with the first being in LA as well and resulting in a Golden State come from behind 115-113 win.

Both Curry and Kelly Oubre Jr were brilliant offensively in that one and they were again on Friday in their 130-121 win over Charlotte. Curry had 29 points and nine assists while Oubre had 27 points on 11/15 shooting but Draymond Green was the star with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 19 assists.

The Lakers saw their four game losing streak end with a 102-93 win over Portland, welcoming Dennis Schroder back and finding their groove on defense again. LeBron James had an incredible evening with 28 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists,  four steals and three blocks while Schroder put in 22 points in his return.

This is a tough one to pick as Schroder returning is obviously a big boost for the Lakers but they are still missing Davis, who played in the loss to Golden State the first time around. The Warriors are playing some incredible basketball, evident by three straight wins but we like the Lakers here. James won’t want to lose another to Curry, Green and the Warriors so we like him to put his side over the line.

NBA Pick – Los Angeles Lakers (-170)
NBA Spread – Golden State Warriors +4 (-110)
Total Points Pick – Under 225 (-110)

Phoenix Suns @ Minnesota Timberwolves – 8PM ETA

A pretty straightforward clash here as the Phoenix Suns should be adding a second straight win and their fifth in their last six games. On the other side of the ball, the Minnesota Timberwolves have lost seven straight games and struggled against Washington last night with no Malik Beasley and no D’Angelo Russell.

Karl-Anthony Towns had a big night with 23 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks while Anthony Edwards enjoyed more opportunities with 21 points, six rebounds and two blocks. The Wolves shot just 43.2% from the field, 31.4% from deep and 65.5% from the line and that sort of effort won’t help them win games any time soon.

Friday night saw both Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton score 22 points while Chris Paul had an incredible night with 14 points, 15 assists, six rebounds and three steals. Phoenix has the sixth best defensive rating and should look to smother this shorthanded Minnesota side.

The Timberwolves have won just seven games all season and with Phoenix looking to extend their 2.5 game gap on the fifth seed in the West, we like the Suns to win and win well.

NBA Pick – Phoenix Suns (-525)
NBA Spread – Phoenix Suns -10 (-110)
Total Points Pick – Under 226 (-110)

Charlotte Hornets @ Sacramento Kings – 10PM ET

A very interesting matchup as the Sacramento Kings return home after snapping their nine game losing streak with a three point win in Detroit. They now face a Charlotte side that followed up their shock win in Phoenix with a nine point loss against the Warriors.

Malik Monk, Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball all scored over 20 points in the loss but their defense was the issue. They gave up 130 points and allowed the Warriors to shoot an incredible 60.8% from the field.

That will be an issue against a Sacramento side whose offense is ranked 11th in the league and scores the 11th most points per game. However, their shock win was thanks to their defensive efforts. The Kings, who have the worst defensive rating in league history, held Detroit to just 107 points and forced 11 turnovers.

All five starters scored in double figures for Sacramento but they will need more than 110 points against a Charlotte side that has scored 245 points over their last two games. The Kings have won just 39.4% of their games this season (13-20) and are just 7-11 at home, but we are taking them to pick up a second straight win in a close one.

NBA Pick – Sacramento Kings (-150)
NBA Spread – Charlotte Hornets +3 (-110)
Total Points Pick – Over 239 (-110)
