Golden State Warriors @ Boston Celtics – 9pm ET

The Boston Celtic have now taken the lead in this finals series against the Golden State Warriors, thanks to a 116-100 win in Game 3. The Warriors will be looking to get back on a level playing field in Game 4, and claim the home court advantage.

Jeffery Thomas

The Boston Celtics returned home for Game 3 and scored a huge win to take back the lead in this NBA Finals. That win now puts them halfway to their first NBA title as a franchise since 2008 but I’m sure they are not looking ahead just yet. The big difference right now is the size of Boston that is just overwhelming the Warriors who run out a lot of lineups that are small and designed to push the pace. It was a huge mismatch in Game 3 as Golden State was outrebounded 31-47, outscored in the paint 26-52, and outscored in the second chance department 11-22.

The biggest concern of all though is the potential injury of Stephen Curry. Late in the game Al Horford fell on his leg and we saw Curry get up slow before exiting due to the game being a blowout. He said he doesn’t expect to miss much time but also did note that this injury felt similar to the one that put him out for weeks in the regular season. It is something to monitor and if it is something that slows down the former MVP then I don’t give the Warriors much of a chance on the road in Game 4.

Jeffery’s NBA Pick: Boston Celtics (-168)

Noah Dunlap

The Boston Celtics now look as if they may be in control of this year’s NBA Finals. After dropping Game 2 on the road, they responded in great fashion in Game 3, taking a 2-1 lead, with Game 4 also being at home in Boston. I was skeptical of them being able to get big performances from all of their key pieces, including Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Al Horford, but that’s exactly what they did. The only key question I think anyone now has surrounding this Boston team is whether they can continue to get similar performances from those pieces for the rest of the series, as I think that’s what they’re going to need in order to win a title.

For Golden State, there has to be some serious concerns moving forward. Draymond Green has been a virtual no-show for much of the first three games, and now there’s some question as to whether Steph Curry will be available for this one, after having his ankle rolled up on in Game 3. If Steph is at 100%, and gets help from the other key pieces on this roster, Golden State can easily turn this into a series again. The problem is that with Green struggling, and Curry not being fully healthy, even if he does play, I think you have to lean Boston here at home. The Warriors keep it close and make a game of it, but in the end, I think the C’s just have too much for the questions surrounding the Golden State lineup. I think it stays within reach, but give me the Celtics to get the 8-10 point win at home, getting within a game of winning the title.

Noah’s NBA Pick: Boston Celtics -4 (-108)

Tony Battalio

The Golden State Warriors will be looking to bounce back in this one after their loss in Game 3. They can’t afford to go down 1-3 heading back to California for Game 5. Steph Curry will have to repeat his impressive performance from Game 3 where he scored 31 points if the Warriors want to even up this series as two games a piece. The Warriors are still a great position in my opinion as they can easily get the win in Game 4.

The Boston Celtics are in a great position coming into this game as they will be looking to win their second straight game in this series. If they can manage to take a 3-1 lead back to Golden State, they will have a serious shot at closing out the NBA Finals in five games. This Warriors dynasty has never lost in less than six games, so it would be something new for them. As for the result of this one, I am going with the Golden State Warriors to bounce back and get the win.

Tony’s NBA Pick: Golden State Warriors (+142)
