Boston Celtics @ Golden State Warriors – 8pm ET

We stay in San Francisco for Game 2 of the NBA Finals, and the Golden State Warriors need to bounce back and get the win here, after being shocked by the Boston Celtics in Game 1. The Warriors had a good lead for most of the game, but the Celtics scored 40 points in the last quarter, compared to just 16 from the home team.

The Golden State Warriors melted down in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and they now put themselves in a situation that is virtually a must-win Game 2 at home on Sunday night. They saw Steph Curry drop 34, even that wasn’t enough, as he wasn’t able to get enough help from the other key players in the lineup, including Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins. With the Boston defense being as good as it is, there’s no question that Steph is going to have to get some help along the way, as this certainly isn’t the kind of series that he can carry himself.

For the Boston Celtics, tremendous efforts from Jaylen Brown and Al Horford overshadowed and managed to cover up a forgettable performance from Jayson Tatum. In my opinion, I think Game 2 is where we see a flip, as I think Horford may struggle, but I think Jayson Tatum manages to find his range a little better. The concern I have is that if Golden State gets a more balanced effort, the C’s are going to have all three of those guys (Brown, Tatum, and Horford) play well to get the win, and against a Warriors team with their back against the wall just a bit, I don’t think that happens. Despite the loss in the opener of this series, I think the Dubs manage to even the series up, and potentially cruise in this one. Give me the Warriors by double-digits.

Noah’s NBA Pick: Golden State Warriors -4 (-112)

Tony Battalio

The Boston Celtics had a great comeback in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Now they will be looking to take a 2-0 lead over the Golden State Warriors in the Bay in Game 2. Jaylen Brown put up a fantastic 24 point performance while Al Horford added 26 in game one as well. They will need Jayson Tatum to play better however, after he only scored 12 points in Game 1. If Boston can get another win in the Bay Area they will be in a great position heading back to Boston for Game 3 and 4.

The Golden State Warriors are beside themselves after their epic collapse in Game 1 back on Thursday evening. Now they will be looking to bounce back in Game 2 and if they don’t it could spell disaster for the great dynasty of the last decade. They cannot afford to go to Boston trailing this series 0-2. Curry dropped 34 points in Game 1 and he will be looking to repeat that performance in the second game of this series. As for the result of this game, I am going with the Golden State Warriors to tie up this series.

Tony’s NBA Pick: Golden State Warriors (-178)
