Indiana Pacers @ Washington Wizards – 7PM ET

The Washington Wizards snapped a three game skid with an impressive win over the lowly Pistons on Saturday but now have a tough opponent in an attempt to string some wins together. They host the Indiana Pacers tonight who come in off two straight wins and getting four of their last five.

Friday night saw the Pacers get a comfortable win in Dallas, taking advantage of Luka Doncic being out of the lineup. Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon both had 22 points while Myles Turner had nine points, seven rebounds and seven blocks in the win. Indiana is finding their groove at the moment, playing well on both ends of the floor and this game was no different.

The big factor that got them the win was shooting 20/47 (42.6%) from deep compared to Dallas’ eight made triples. That may be something that gets them over the line again as Washington has the third worst three point percentage for the season, makes the fifth fewest threes and has the second lowest percentage of total points coming from threes.

The Wizards made just nine threes in their 106-92 win over Detroit on Saturday, getting over the line thanks to a terrible Pistons offense more than anything. Russell Westbrook had 19 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists while Bradley Beal had just 17 points, however they were two of six different Washington players in double figures, depth that doesn’t normally show out for the team.

While the Wizards have found some new depth in their roster, they are up to the same level as Indiana. While they haven’t met this season yet, we know that the Pacers match up well with good guard/wing defenders to throw at Westbrook and Beal while having the interior presence of Turner to patrol the lines and interior.

New Orleans Pelicans @ Boston Celtics – 7:30PM ET

The Boston Celtics return home with two straight wins under their belt and are full of confidence ahead of their prime time matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans tonight. An impressive win in Milwaukee was followed up with a big win in Oklahoma City while the Pelicans had a tune up game against a shorthanded Mavericks team in the lead up.

Both Doncic and Porzingis missed for Dallas and New Orleans took advantage, jumping out to a 35-20 lead after the first quarter to stamp their authority. However they suffered a poor second quarter, scoring just 18 points and seeing scores tied at the main break. They managed to chip away and came up with the win late behind Zion Williamson’s 38 points, six assists and five rebounds.

The Pelicans have plenty of room for improvement from that performance, shooting just 34.6% from deep and only 65.5% from the line. It was also a similar story for the Celtics who shot just 31.6% from behind the arc and a slightly better 78.6% from the line. Their poor shooting restricted them from breaking the game open, despite eventually beating the Thunder 111-94.

The Celtics were actually trailing heading into the last but a 35-14 last quarter gave them the win. Jayson Tatum shot just 2/11 for seven points in the first half but ended up with a game high 27 with Jaylen Brown playing his role with 25 points. Kemba Walker sat out that clash to rest and is expected to be back and firing for this one.

The fact that Boston picked up these two wins is extremely impressive considering they are just 10-16 on the road (8-16 before them) but the important factor for them now is that they are returning home where they are 13-7. New Orleans meanwhile are 6-14 on the road and may struggle to stay competitive with Boston in this one, especially since they are still missing Lonzo Ball.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Brooklyn Nets – 7:30PM ET

James Harden is stamping his name all over the MVP race, even stating that he thinks he is the MVP so far this season and now he gets an All Star running mate back in Kyrie Irving, who has missed the last three. This only boosts the Brooklyn Nets’ chances in a game they were already favored heavily, as they host the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.

Saturday night saw Minnesota welcome back Malik Beasley into the lineup after finishing his 12 game suspension, however it didn’t bring positive results as they fell to the Rockets 107-129. Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards continued their impressive offensive run at the moment, each scoring 27 points with Towns adding 15 boards and two blocks.

fanduel sign up bonus

The issue for the Timberwolves was their defense, allowing Houston to shoot over 54% from the field and over 46% from deep. That sort of defense is a one way ticket to a blowout against Brooklyn and their number one rated offense. The Nets are a top three team when it comes to three point percentage and Irving returning to the lineup only increases how potent their lineup can be.

In their 113-111 win in Detroit on Friday, Harden had a massive 44 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists, which is just a normal night for The Beard. However it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Brooklyn as their lead diminished late in the third before they used a three minute 18-8 run to establish their lead and never give it up.

Towns could have one of his biggest games of the season against a terrible Brooklyn interior defense, but the Nets have too many pieces and will be too powerful on offense to even consider betting with Minnesota here. The Nets are currently laying 11.5 points in the spread and even that may seem too small.

Miami Heat @ New York Knicks – 8PM ET

The Miami Heat and New York Knicks will face off for the third and final time tonight as Miami attempts to snap a six game skid whilst also looking to take the season series against the Knicks, taking both of the earlier matchups. The positive for the Heat is they have beaten the Knicks in the Garden this season, something that should give them confidence despite being drained of most of theirs with their terrible play at the moment.

The Heat’s most recent loss was by five points in Charlotte, trailing by 17 after the first and that extending to 23 at halftime. Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson both scoring 20 helped Miami claw their way back into it but they never really had a chance to steal the victory.

That was their sixth straight loss and now will be without Kendrick Nunn (ankle), who has been one of their bright spots over the last couple of weeks. Luckily for the Heat is that Julius Randle, first time All Star and New York’s best player, is just questionable for this clash after missing the last game with a bruised thigh.

That didn’t matter though as New York managed to steal a victory in Milwaukee, as the Bucks were missing four starters for the clash. Alec Burks and RJ Barrett both stepped up in Randle’s absence, scoring 21 points each. Burks added 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks while Barrett contributed seven boards and seven assists in the win.

New York’s defense took advantage of a weaker opponent and that is what they will look to do here, especially now they are back at home too. The Knicks are an impressive 14-8 when playing at The Garden this season and hold a half game lead over both Charlotte and Atlanta for fourth in the East. Miami meanwhile have slipped all the way down to be tied for eighth and are just 10-12 on the road, something that doesn’t bode well here. We are taking the Knicks as surprise home underdogs in this one.

Toronto Raptors @ Detroit Pistons – 8PM ET

One night after a tough home loss to Portland, the Toronto Raptors have to get on the road to back it up again tonight against the Detroit Pistons. Kyle Lowry was a late scratching for the clash so it is impressive they managed to lose to a full strength Portland side by just five points , but it was their second straight loss and 11th from their last 12.

That 12 game streak started with a 24 point home loss to this Detroit side, but the Raptors were depleted due to COVID-19 then and have plenty of room for improvement. In Lowry’s absence last night Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby did the heavy lifting. Siakam had a game high 26 points, VanVleet had 20 points and a team high eight assists while Anunoby had a 19 point, 10 rebound double double.

Lowry’s absence is obviously a tough gap to fill for the Raptors, especially when trying to integrate some new pieces from the trade deadline, but he should return on the second night of the back to back and put some work through a thin Detroit backcourt.

After trading Delon Wright and with Dennis Smith Jr still being injured, the Pistons have just newly acquired Cory Joseph as the only true point guard available right now and the team has suffered because of it. Detroit only managed 92 points against a terrible Washington defense on Saturday as Jerami Grant scored just nine points on 4/12 shooting.

The Raptors have been playing so poorly right now but the Pistons have lost four straight and have no signs of being able to turn that around. We like the Raptors to get the job done here, even more so if Lowry is back in uniform.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Houston Rockets – 8PM ET

The Houston Rockets are coming off a 22 point win last time out and will look to make it two in a row for the first time since the start of February when they host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. The Rockets were unstoppable on offense against the Timberwolves on Saturday but will be tested against a Memphis side that has the sixth best defense in the league and will be playing with a point to prove after coming off back to back losses in Utah.

After an extremely competitive three point loss in the first leg, Memphis couldn’t back it up on Saturday, losing 110-126. Six different Memphis players hit double figures, led by Kyle Anderson’s 16 points and Jonas Valanciunas’ 13 point, 11 rebound double double but the Grizzlies gave up 19 threes to the Jazz while hitting just nine of their own.

Memphis’ pesky defense caused the Jazz to commit 21 turnovers however their poor shooting let them down and restricted them from ever really competing in the clash. They will need to be more switched on tonight as the Rockets are coming off a 129 point performance where they shot 18/39 (46.2%) from deep.

The return of Kevin Porter Jr to the lineup worked wonders for Houston as the guard poured in 25 points on 66.7% shooting, leading six other different players in double figures. The best bit for Houston is that they did all of this without Christian Wood, but he is still just questionable to return and they would prefer him to be out there to bolster their chances of winning.

Memphis have a better road record than home record this season and given they are pretty much at full health, should provide a tall ask for the Rockets. Their defense is what wins them games and against an inconsistent Houston side, especially with a young star in Porter Jr, the Grizzlies should be raring to go in this matchup.

Dallas Mavericks @ Oklahoma City Thunder– 8PM ET

We have a pair of Western Conference teams looking to snap two game losing streaks face off as the Oklahoma City Thunder host the Dallas Mavericks tonight. OKC suffered a pair of home losses to Memphis and Boston, both without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, while Dallas lost at home to Indiana and in New Orleans, both without Luka Doncic and the latter without Kristaps Porzingis.

Both Doncic and Porzingis are locked in to return for this clash in Oklahoma, helping the Mavericks return to a high powered offense yet again. Tim Hardaway Jr enjoyed more shots against the Pelicans without the two stars, putting up 30 points off the bench while Jalen Brunson stepped into the starting point guard role for 24 points and four assists.

However the Thunder aren’t so lucky as SGA is without a timetable to return with plantar fasciitis and OKC clearly struggle without him, going 3-7 when he doesn’t play this season. His absence allows some of the younger players to get more opportunities and that is what happened with Theo Maledon and Moses Brown against the Celtics. Maledon had a team high 22 points while Brown has 21 points and 23 rebounds, shooting 8/10 from the field as well.

Dallas obviously has to focus on their interior defense as Brown has been a massive revelation for the Thunder. However even if Brown has another monster game, a full strength Dallas side is too much to handle for a young Thunder outfit.

Sacramento Kings @ San Antonio Spurs – 8:30PM ET

The San Antonio Spurs are set to host the Sacramento Kings for back to back games this week, starting tonight. The Spurs come in off a big win over Chicago that snapped a four game skid while the Kings have won four straight and six of their last seven, bringing a world of confidence into this game.

The Kings needed all 48 minutes to get over the top of Cleveland on Saturday night, winning 100-98 thanks to a turn-around, buzzer-beating three from Harrison Barnes. After being down by three points heading into the last, Sacramento turned to De’Aaron Fox to will them over the line. Their star guard scored 20 of his 36 points in the last quarter and was the driving force behind the win, along with Barnes’ 16 point, 11 rebound double double and a massive night from Richuan Holmes, who ended with 10 points, 14 boards and five blocks.

All five starters scored in double figures for the Kings but the bench contributed just 15 points and that is something that won’t work against a finely tuned San Antonio side. The Spurs had seven different players in double figures and had 39 points off the bench, led by Patty Mills’ 16.

Jakob Poeltl was the Spurs’ leading scorer with 20 points, nine boards and three blocks while DeMar DeRozan, Dejounte Murray and Derrick White each had seven or more assists in the game. San Antonio’s ball movement was incredible, helping them shooting over 54% from the field for the game and something they will look for again against a typically bad Sacramento defense.

After three straight games at home, the Kings get on the road where they are just 9-13 on the season. Combine that with a defense that allows the second most points per game going up against a San Antonio defense that is top 10 for points allowed and defensive rating and this should be a clear result. We like the Spurs to slow down Fox and the Kings here.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Utah Jazz – 9PM ET

A pretty straight forward matchup here, in what should be another easy home win for the Utah Jazz. After back to back home wins over Memphis, the Jazz now host the Cleveland Cavaliers who have dropped two straight road games including against the depleted Lakers and the lowly Kings.

Collin Sexton’s 26 points in his return to action was almost good enough for Cleveland to sneak away with the win but allowed Harrison Barnes to hit a three as time expired, losing 98-100. Both Larry Nance Jr and Darius Garland had good complementary games but the Cavs couldn’t overcome the loss of Jarrett Allen, who missed with concussion and has already been ruled out for tonight.

That loss put Cleveland to 6-17 on the road for the season and now face a fully healthy, rested Utah side that is sitting on top of the league. Donovan Mitchell starred once again for the Jazz, pouring in 35 points on 70.6% shooting, also equaling a team high in assists of seven, with Joe Ingles.

That win was Utah’s 19th straight at home and this is as easy as they come to notch up their 20th. 17 of those wins have come by double figures and the line is a massive 15.5 points for the clash. Jazz will win this comfortably, but by how much?

Chicago Bulls @ Golden State Warriors – 10PM ET

We have a pair of struggling sides facing off in this one as the Chicago Bulls, who have dropped three straight, continue their road trip against the Golden State Warriors, who have dropped four straight.

The Warriors have struggled with Steph Curry on the sidelines, unable to replace the scoring that is gone with him out of the lineup. Friday night saw the Warriors suffer a 108-124 home loss at the hands of Atlanta, getting jumped from the start and unable to catch up. Andrew Wiggins had a team high 29 points while the rookie, James Wiseman, had 18 points but it wasn’t enough in the slow, sluggish affair.

Draymond Green returned from a one game absence to have nine assists but not attempt a shot at all, however his defense will be needed against a newly acquired Nikola Vucevic. ‘Vooch’ impressed in his first game for the Bulls with 21 points and nine rebounds but it wasn’t enough as they fell 104-120 in San Antonio.

The pairing of Vucevic and LaVine has many Chicago fans excited for what could be, especially on the offensive end, but there will be some teething issues, as shown on Saturday. Meanwhile the Warriors continue to fight and could have Curry back, as he has been upgraded to questionable after participating fully in practice yesterday. If he is to return then this is an easy pick, as the Warriors should win, however if he doesn’t then it will be a much closer matchup, with the Bulls holding the slight edge.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Los Angeles Clippers – 10PM ET

Last and certainly not least, the matchup of the night between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers come in with an impressive five game winning streak, most recently over the Sixers, while the Bucks have dropped two straight but rested four of their five starters in preparation for this matchup tonight.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Donte Divincenzo all were out for various reasons in the Bucks’ 96-102 home loss to the Knicks on Saturday but had some positive signs from players stepping up. Thanasis Antetokounmpo scored a career high 23 points, adding 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals in a massive 37 minutes playing time, taking full advantage of the increased opportunity.

However with their stars back in the lineup, it will be a completely different ball game for the Bucks and Giannis will come in with a point to prove against Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. When these sides met in Milwaukee four weeks ago, Giannis had 36 points and 14 rebounds to lead a come from behind win over LA and will want the season sweep here tonight.

fanduel sign up bonus

Leonard may have other ideas as he is leading the Clippers in their race out West, now just one game behind Phoenix for second and four games behind Utah for first. In their 122-112 win over Philly on Saturday, he had a team high 28 points while Paul George had 24, nine and nine in the win.

LA shot over 50% from the field and over 40% from deep, highlighting why they have the second best offensive rating in the league, only slightly trailing Brooklyn. Milwaukee’s offensive rating is just sixth, however they average the most points per game and are consistent whether at home or away in that department.

They aren’t consistent defensively however, allowing over four more points per game when on the road with their road record, just 11-9, suffering because of it. We like LA to hold their own at home, splitting the season series and picking up their sixth straight.
