Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics – 8.30pm ET

It was the Boston Celtics who got the all important win in Game 5 against the Miami Heat, in Miami. Now, the Celtics get to return home for Game 6 and will try to get the win tonight to book their spot in the NBA Finals. The equation is simple for the Heat, if they lose, their hopes of winning the NBA Finals in 2022 are over.

Jeffery Thomas

For the first time since the first round of the playoffs the Boston Celtics will come into a game with the series lead. This is all thanks to a 93-80 win on the road in Game 5 to give them a chance to close things out on Friday in front of their home fans. Boston doesn’t want to get too ahead of themselves though, as they are 0-4 in their last four trips to the Conference Finals, holding 3-2 leads on two of those occasions. One of those times was with this same core, led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in 2018.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers stormed past that young Celtics team on the way to the Finals, and they learned a lot of lessons and gained crucial experience in that loss. I don’t think the Celtics will let that happen again here and the Heat just don’t have that superstar to even carry them to the comeback in my opinion, I think Boston is the better team and won’t want to take a chance with a Game 7 on the road, so this is where things will get wrapped up.

Jeffery’s NBA Pick: Boston Celtics -8.5 (-110)

Noah Dunlap

Can the Boston Celtics go ahead and wrap up the Eastern Conference Finals in this Game 6 at home, or are we headed back to South Beach for a Game 7? That’s the question on the table in this one, and based on what we’ve seen in this series, I think the assumption has to be that Boston is going to get it done here. The Celtics have used two great runs at different points in the past two games to get wins in both to take a 3-2 series lead, and now with Game 6 back in Boston, they’re going to be looking to Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart to get them over the finish line and advance to the NBA Finals to take on the Golden State Warriors. If they can get solid production from all three of those guys, not even great games, just decent production from all of them, I like their chances.

For the Miami Heat, it’s been a great year, but it’s starting to look like injuries may end up playing a part in doing them in. They’ve been without Tyler Herro for the past two games, and he’s questionable for this one, and while Jimmy Butler has been on the floor, it’s clear that he hasn’t been himself. When you add in the fact that Kyle Lowry is finally back after missing virtually a month, and looks rusty, as expected, it’s just a tough situation all the way around for Miami. Their offense has been atrocious in Games 4 and 5, and with the injuries and guys just being banged up, I’m not sure that that improves in this one. Maybe they get a massive performance from someone in order to keep their season alive, but I just can’t see it happening. Give me the C’s at home here, to win not a blowout, but one that isn’t necessarily close either. Boston by 12.

Noah’s NBA Pick: Boston Celtics -8.5 (-110)

Tony Battalio

The Boston Celtics have taken full control of this Eastern Conference Finals series. As they now find themselves leading the series 3-2 heading into Game 6 at home at TD Garden. They are looking to make their first NBA finals appearance in over a decade and after having come up short to the Miami Heat several times in previous years, it only seems right that they clinch their Finals berth against this same Miami Heat franchise. As long as Jayson Tatum remains healthy, this team is a serious threat to win it all.

The Miami Heat look absolutely lost at the moment, as it is clear to anyone watching that their star player Jimmy Butler is hurt and needs some help if the Miami Heat want to make their second NBA Finals in three years. They fought hard all season long but it’s looking more and more like their season is going to end on Friday night in Boston. As for the result of this matchup, that is exactly what I expect to happen as well as I’m going with the Boston Celtics to get the win.

Tony’s NBA Pick: Boston Celtics (-405)
