Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics – 8.30pm ET

The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics will face off for Game 4 of their Conference Finals series. The Heat managed to get the win in Boston for Game 3, which means they now lead the series 2-1. The Celtics will need to bounce back here in game Game 4, otherwise they will be facing an elimination game on the road.

Jeffery Thomas

The Boston Celtics lost their home court advantage on Saturday with their 103-109 loss to the Miami Heat. Jayson Tatum was never really able to find his groove in the game and even left for a brief moment with a stinger as the Celtics were trying to make a late rally. He scored just 10 points on 3-14 shooting while committing six turnovers. It was a game full of injuries as Jimmy Butler also left and never returned along with Celtics’ guard Marcus Smart, although he did return from his ankle injury. If Butler is forced to miss Game 4 or is limited in any way that would obviously swing things in Boston’s favor in a major way.

For me though, I was already counting on a bounce-back performance from the Celtics because that’s just what they do. This is the same formula as last round for them, they continued to fall behind in the series with Milwaukee before responding with a win in the next game. Jayson Tatum had arguably his worst game all postseason on Saturday and they still kept it within 6, so naturally a normal to extraordinary game from the All-Star would give them the clear edge and that’s what I’m banking on.

Jeffery’s NBA Pick: Boston Celtics (-270)

Noah Dunlap

Saturday night was a rough look for the Boston Celtics. They entered Game 3 having taken home-court advantage from the Miami Heat with their win in Game 1, and then got a great opportunity to solidify that in Game 3, only to give it away again. Jimmy Butler went out for Miami late in the first half, and missed the rest of the game, and Tyler Herro was also a virtual no-show for the entire game. Yet, despite all of that, and partially due to Jayson Tatum going out for a stretch, the Celtics weren’t able to capitalize, and let the Heat take the game, and a 2-1 series lead. If the C’s drop Game 4 as well, I think you can call this series wrapped up, as I can’t see a way they bounce back from 3-1 down, especially losing two at home. So the key is going to be getting Jayson Tatum back with a big performance, as well as Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart having big performances, too. That’s how they got the win in Game 2, and that has to be their blueprint for the series if they want the chance to win.

For the Heat, the good news is that it looks like Jimmy Butler is going to be able to give it a go in this one, despite missing the last half of Game 3. If he is actually healthy, he should be able to have a good performance, and with Kyle Lowry making a surprise return to the lineup on Saturday, he should also be available for this one, as well. If they can get Lowry and Butler playing well, with Bam Adebayo down low, and Herro coming off the bench playing better than he did in Game 3, I think you have to like Miami in this one too. They’ve been arguably the most balanced team in the league all year long, and I think that balance pays off in a big way in this series. Give me Miami here, even on the road, as I think they win a close one, and take a commanding 3-1 lead in these Eastern Conference Finals. However, with the line leaning Boston’s way with a decent number, be safe and take the Heat to at least cover the spread.

Noah’s NBA Pick: Miami Heat +6.5 (-110)

Tony Battalio

The Miami Heat got a big win in Game 3 to go up 2-1 in this Eastern Conference Finals series against the Boston Celtics. They will now be looking to use the home court to their advantage in Game 5 to close out the series, and they want to get another win here to go up 3-1 over the Celtics in Boston for Game 4. The Heat are looking to go back to the finals for the second time in three years and hopefully get a ring this time after their loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019. As long as Jimmy Butler stays healthy this team is a very real championship threat.

The Boston Celtics are in desperate need of a win in this game as they don’t want to go down 1-3 heading back to South Beach for Game 5. They looked great last time out but failed to replicate that same perfection in Game 3. They also had some injury scares as well as Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart both experienced some terrifying moments. As for the result of this one however, I look for the Miami Heat to get the victory over the Boston Celtics to take a 3-1 lead.

Tony’s NBA Pick: Miami Heat (+220)
