The Detroit Pistons (16-58, 9-29 Home) will try to overcome the NBA’s top shooting defense when they welcome the Milwaukee Bucks (53-21, 23-14 Away) on Monday.
Milwaukee was outplayed by the Denver Nuggets 129-106 at Ball Arena on Saturday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way in defeat with 31 points and nine rebounds.
The Bucks are the first seed in the Eastern Conference, 2.5 games ahead of the Boston Celtics. Detroit lost their fifth in a row in blowout fashion on Friday at Scotiabank Arena, falling to the Toronto Raptors 118-97. Jaden Ivey topped the scoresheet in defeat with 20 points.
With 9 points and four assists, Jalen Duren also had an impressive game. The Pistons are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference. The teams are meeting for the final time this season.
Milwaukee will be looking for a season sweep against Detroit after triumphing in each of their three previous meetings, the most recent of which was a 150-130 victory at Little Caesars Arena on January 23, their fourth straight head-to-head victory. Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 29 points and 12 rebounds.
Bojan Bogdanovic had 33 points in the loss. Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.1 points per game, fifth-highest in the league, to lead the Bucks in scoring this season. Antetokounmpo also has grabbed 11.7 rebounds per game, third-most in the NBA. Meanwhile, Jrue Holiday is dishing 7.3 assists.
Bogdanovic (21.6 ppg) has supplied much of the Pistons’ offense. Duren is posting 8.7 rebounds per game, and Killian Hayes is recording 6.2 assists. The Bucks rank as the NBA’s toughest FG% defense, holding foes to 45.1%.The Bucks have been perfect in their last 10 games at Little Caesars Arena.
