The Detroit Pistons (8-27, 4-12 Home) will try to break down one of the NBA’s top scoring defenses when they host the Los Angeles Clippers (19-15, 8-8 Away) on Monday.
Los Angeles was defeated by the Philadelphia 76ers 119-114 at Wells Fargo Center on Friday. Kawhi Leonard led the way in the losing effort with 28 points. The Clippers are the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
Detroit lost their fifth in a row in blowout fashion on Friday at State Farm Arena, falling to the Atlanta Hawks 130-105. Bojan Bogdanovic topped the scoresheet in defeat with 23 points. With 17 points, Killian Hayes also produced a strong performance. The Pistons are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference.
This marks the last meeting of the season between the teams. Los Angeles will be looking for a season sweep against Detroit after earning the win in the only previous game 96-91 at Crypto.com Arena on November 17, their seventh straight head-to-head victory.
Reggie Jackson led the Clippers with 23 points. Bogdanovic had 26 points in the loss. Paul George is averaging 23.3 points per game to lead the Clips in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Ivica Zubac is grabbing 10.8 rebounds per game, seventh-most in the league, and John Wall is dishing 5.5 assists.
Bogdanovic has been the primary provider of the Pistons’ offense, averaging 20.8 points per game. Jalen Duren is pulling down 8.2 rebounds per game, and Hayes is distributing 5.2 assists.
The Clippers are holding opponents to 107.9 points per game, ranking as one of the best scoring defenses in the league (5th). The Clippers have been perfect in four games at Little Caesars Arena. Detroit is seeking to reverse a five-game home losing streak this season.
