The Nuggets triumphed in the last meeting, beating the Pelicans 99-98 at Smoothie King Center on Tuesday. Jokic led the Nuggets with a triple double, posting 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. CJ McCollum had 20 points in defeat. McCollum is averaging 21.3 points per game to lead the Pels in scoring this season.
McCollum also has dished 5.8 assists per game. Meanwhile, Jonas Valanciunas is grabbing 9.6 rebounds. Jokic (25.1 ppg) has been the primary provider of the Nuggets’ offense. Jokic has also put up 10.9 rebounds and 9.9 assists per game, for which he ranks sixth and third in the NBA, respectively.
The Nuggets are shooting 50.8% from the field, ranking as one of the most accurate field goal shooting teams in the league (2nd). The Nuggets have had success in recent clashes between the teams at Ball Arena, winning six of the last 10. New Orleans is looking to reverse a four-game losing skid away from home this season.
