The Charlotte Hornets (26-52, 13-25 Home) will try to overcome one of the NBA’s top scoring defenses when they play host to the Toronto Raptors (38-39, 12-25 Away) on Sunday.
Toronto lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 117-110 at Wells Fargo Center on Friday, their fifth loss in a row away from home. Scottie Barnes led the way in defeat with 29 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. The Raptors are ninth in the Eastern Conference.
Charlotte lost in blowout fashion on Friday at Spectrum Center, falling to the Chicago Bulls 121-91. James Bouknight had 22 points and six rebounds in defeat, carrying the team. The Hornets are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference. This is the last meeting of the season between the teams.
Toronto will be pursuing a season sweep against Charlotte after triumphing in both of their earlier matchups, the last of which was a 124-114 victory at Scotiabank Arena on January 12. Pascal Siakam led the Raptors with 35 points. LaMelo Ball had 32 points and seven assists in the loss.
The Raptors have been led this season by Siakam, who is averaging 24.1 points per game. Siakam also has grabbed 7.8 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Fred VanVleet is dishing 7.0 assists. Terry Rozier (21.1 ppg) has powered the Hornets’ offense. Rozier also has recorded 5.1 assists per game.
