Charlotte lost their fifth in a row in blowout fashion on Sunday at Wells Fargo Center, falling to the Philadelphia 76ers 131-113. Terry Rozier had 29 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in defeat, leading the team. The Hornets are the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference.
The teams are meeting for the first time this season. Charlotte won two out of three games between the teams last season, though Detroit triumphed 127-126 in overtime in the last meeting at Spectrum Center on February 27. Saddiq Bey led the Pistons with 28 points and eight rebounds.
Rozier had 33 points in defeat. Bogdanovic is averaging 21.0 points per game, best in the league, to lead the Pistons in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Isaiah Stewart is grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game, most in the NBA, and Killian Hayes is dishing 5.1 assists (1st). Rozier (22.2 ppg) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (20.8) have been the primary providers of the Hornets’ offense.
Rozier leads the NBA in scoring, while Oubre Jr. is first. Rozier also has doled out 5.7 assists per game, most in the NBA. Mason Plumlee has averaged 9.3 rebounds per game. The Pistons have had little success at Spectrum Center in recent seasons, losing nine of the last 10 visits. Charlotte is looking to avoid a fourth consecutive home loss this season.
