The Atlanta Hawks (29-28, 14-17 Away) travel to face the Charlotte Hornets (15-43, 7-18 Home), who will be hoping to end their losing skid, on Monday. Atlanta dismantled the San Antonio Spurs 125-106 at State Farm Arena on Saturday.
Trae Young led the way with 24 points and 17 assists. The Hawks are eighth in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte dropped their seventh in a row on Saturday at Spectrum Center, falling to the Denver Nuggets 119-105.
PJ Washington tallied 22 points to top the scoresheet in the losing effort. With 18 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds, LaMelo Ball also produced a strong performance. The Hornets are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference.
The teams are meeting for the last time this season. Atlanta will be looking to even the season series after winning only one of the three previous games. Charlotte won the last showdown 122-118 at State Farm Arena on January 21.
Terry Rozier led the Hornets with 34 points, while Mason Plumlee contributed 25 points and 11 rebounds. Dejounte Murray had 26 points in defeat.
Young is averaging 26.9 points per game, ninth-highest in the NBA, to lead the Hawks in scoring this season. Young also has dished 10.2 assists per game, most in the league.
Meanwhile, Clint Capela is grabbing 11.5 rebounds. Rozier has powered the Hornets on offense, averaging 21.6 points per game. Rozier also has doled out 4.9 assists per game.
Plumlee has collected 9.7 rebounds per game. The Hornets have had success in the last 10 matchups between the teams at Spectrum Center, winning six.
