The Brooklyn Nets (29-18, 13-7 Home), the league’s top shooting team, welcome the Detroit Pistons (12-37, 6-19 Away) on Thursday. Detroit was dominated by the Milwaukee Bucks 150-130 at Little Caesars Arena on Monday, their fourth straight loss. Bojan Bogdanovic had a standout performance in defeat with 33 points. Brooklyn is playing on back-to-back days after losing yesterday at Wells Fargo Center, falling to the Philadelphia 76ers 137-133. Seth Curry had 32 points to lead the team in scoring in the losing effort. With 30 points and 10 assists, Kyrie Irving also produced a strong performance.
The Nets are the third seed in the Eastern Conference. It’s the last meeting of the season between the teams. Brooklyn will be seeking a season sweep against Detroit after taking the only earlier meeting 124-121 at Little Caesars Arena in December 2022, their seventh straight head-to-head victory.
Kevin Durant led the Nets with 43 points. Bogdanovic had 26 points in defeat. Bogdanovic is averaging 21.5 points per game to lead the Pistons in scoring this season. Meanwhile, Jalen Duren is grabbing 8.8 rebounds per game, and Killian Hayes is dishing 5.8 assists.
Durant and Irving have supplied much of the Nets’ offense, averaging 29.7 and 26.1 points per game, respectively. Durant ranks eighth in the league.
Nicolas Claxton is pulling down 8.7 rebounds per game, and Ben Simmons is recording 6.1 assists. The Nets are shooting 51.1% from the field, ranking as the most accurate field goal shooting team in the NBA.
