The Boston Celtics (28-12, 15-5 Home), the NBA’s top scoring team, welcome the Chicago Bulls (19-21, 8-12 Away) on Monday. Chicago defeated the Utah Jazz 126-118 at United Center on Saturday, their third win in a row.
With 36 points, Zach LaVine was the leading scorer. DeMar DeRozan chipped in with 35 points and seven assists. The Bulls are ninth in the Eastern Conference.
Boston won on Saturday at AT&T Center, beating the San Antonio Spurs 121-116. Jayson Tatum recorded 34 points to lead the team in scoring. With 23 points, seven assists, and two rebounds, Malcolm Brogdon also played a part.
The Celtics are first in the Eastern Conference, one game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets. The teams are meeting for the last time this season. Boston will be looking to split the season series after earning the win in only one of the three prior meetings.
Chicago won the last showdown 121-107 at United Center in November 2022. DeRozan led the Bulls with 28 points and eight rebounds. Tatum had 28 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in the loss.
The Bulls have been led this season by DeRozan and LaVine, who are averaging 26.4 and 23.3 points per game, respectively. DeRozan also has dished 5.0 assists per game. Meanwhile, Nikola Vucevic is grabbing 10.9 rebounds per game. Tatum (30.8 ppg) and Jaylen Brown (27.0) have supplied much of the Celts’ offense.
Tatum ranks fifth in the NBA. Tatum also has collected 8.1 rebounds per game. Marcus Smart has doled out 7.2 assists per game. The Celtics rank as the most explosive offense in the league with 118.8 points per game.
The Bulls are 3-7 in their last 10 visits to TD Garden. Boston is pursuing a fifth successive win at home this season.
