Trae Young led the way in the losing effort with 27 points and 20 assists. The Hawks are eighth in the Eastern Conference. Boston won their sixth straight home game in dominant fashion on Friday at TD Garden, beating the Toronto Raptors 121-102. Sam Hauser recorded 26 points to top the scoresheet.
With 22 points, five assists, and four rebounds, Payton Pritchard also played a part. The Celtics are the second seed in the Eastern Conference, three games behind the Milwaukee Bucks. The teams are meeting for the final time this season.
Boston will be looking for a season sweep against Atlanta after taking both of their prior games, the most recent of which was a 134-125 victory at State Farm Arena on March 11, their fourth straight head-to-head victory. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 34 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists.
Young had 35 points and 13 assists in the losing effort. Young is averaging 26.2 points per game, 10th-highest in the NBA, to lead the Hawks in scoring this season. Young also has dished 10.2 assists per game, second-most in the league.
Meanwhile, Clint Capela is grabbing 11.0 rebounds.Tatum and Jaylen Brown have powered the Celts’ offense, averaging 30.1 and 26.6 points per game, respectively. Tatum ranks sixth in the league in scoring, while Brown is eighth. Tatum also has averaged 8.8 rebounds per game.
Marcus Smart has recorded 6.3 assists per game. The Hawks and the Celtics are two of the top scoring teams in the NBA, ranking second and fourth in points per game, respectively. Atlanta is scoring 118.5 per game, while Boston is averaging 117.9.
