The Milwaukee Bucks come from behind to win Game Three, take 2-1 series lead

Mon 28th June 2021

The Milwaukee Bucks used a historic night from Khris Middleton and a big fourth quarter push to come from behind and win Game Three in Atlanta, beating the Hawks 113-102. The win now gives the Bucks a 2-1 series lead and allowed them to regain home court advantage.

Atlanta got out to a hot start, leading 25-10 in the first quarter but only managed to hold on for a 32-27 quarter time lead. From there, the Bucks were able to tie things up at half time.

The Hawks never gave up though, winning the third and heading into the last with a two point lead but everything went downhill from there. Trae Young turned his ankle, Middleton caught fire and the Bucks ran over the top, winning by 11.

Young scored 35 points for the game and shot better than 50% from the field for the first time in his last seven games. He had little help from his teammates though with Danilo Gallinari being the next best scorer with 18 off the bench.

Giannis Antetokounmpo dominated the interior, finishing with 33 points, 11 boards, two steals and a block but the night belonged to Middleton. Heading into the fourth quarter with 18 points and the game on the line, Middleton scored 20 points, outscoring Atlanta by himself. He finished with 38, equaling his career playoff high, while adding 11 boards and seven assists.

Milwaukee have well and truly thrust themselves into a dominant position now. Atlanta are expected to bounce back in front of their fans, but we won’t know the outcome until Tuesday night happens.
