The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Atlanta Hawks 125-91 in Game Two, level the series 1-1

Sat 26th June 2021

A 20-0 run in the second period saw the Milwaukee Bucks dominate Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals, beating the Atlanta Hawks 125-91. That win now ties the series at 1-1 heading into a massive Game Three in Atlanta on Sunday night.

After leading by as many as 10 points after nine minutes, Milwaukee held just a six point margin after the first quarter but then blew the game open in the second. The 20-0 run was the catalyst for a 43-17 period, leading 77-45 at halftime.

The Bucks then extended their lead to 40 points by the end of the third period before taking their foot off the gas and playing their bench to finish, allowing their stars to rest up for Game Three.

Atlanta couldn’t get anything going offensively, with Trae Young leading the team in scoring with just 15 points and only dishing out three assists. This was a disastrous performance, especially when comparing it to Game One’s 48 point, 11 assist effort.

Milwaukee on the other hand got almost anything they wanted offensively, dominating the paint but also making a series high 15 threes. Jrue Holiday went 3-4 from downtown and 9-14 overall for his 22 points and seven assists while Giannis Antetokounmpo had a game high 25 points, adding nine rebounds, six assists and two steals with it.

After a disappointing Game One, Milwaukee had to come out and respond, which is exactly what they did. With the series tied 1-1 heading back to Atlanta, we expect the Hawks to rally in front of their fans, but will it be enough to turn things around? There is so much uncertainty in this series so we will have to wait until Sunday night to find out what happens next!
