Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard will miss a third straight game on Monday against Oklahoma City, according to an ESPN report.
Leonard has been out of action since suffering a left knee contusion in the Clippers’ loss to the Houston Rockets last Wednesday. He has already missed games against the Pelicans and Hawks on Thursday and Saturday respectively, and another game on the sideline will mean he’s missed five of L.A.’s 14 outings to start the season.
Unfortunately, Leonard’s absence will mean fans will not get the chance to see Leonard and fellow star Paul George play together for the first time against the Thunder. George has been a revelation in his first two games as a Clipper, scoring 70 points in just over 44 minutes over his first two games.
Leonard has been great when he’s been on the court this season, averaging a hair under 27 points per game and flashing a new-found play-making ability by dishing out a career-high six assists.
