Ken Waldichuk (1-3, 6.85 ERA) is set for the start for Oakland. The southpaw allowed four runs (three earned) over five innings in his last start, a 5-1 road defeat against the Astros on Friday. He took the loss, scattering five hits while striking out three and walking five.
Waldichuk is making his first appearance against the Mariners this season. Waldichuk made one start against the Mariners in 2022, a 2-1 road loss on September 30. He surrendered one run on three hits over five innings, striking out eight and walking two.
For Seattle, righty Bryce Miller (2-1, 1.42 ERA) will toe the rubber. He has made one prior start against the Athletics this season, giving up one run over six innings in a 2-1 road win on May 2. He gave up two hits while striking out 10 in the no-decision.
In his last start on Friday, Miller took the loss on the road against the Braves. He threw 6.1 innings and gave up three runs on four hits, striking out four and walking one in the 6-2 defeat.
