The Colorado Rockies (13-21) are on the road to face the New York Mets (17-17) at Citi Field on Sunday with the three-game series all square at 1-1. The Rockies evened up the series 1-1 after winning 5-2 on Saturday.
Starter Austin Gomber went six innings to get the win, allowing two runs on five hits, and Pierce Johnson picked up his fifth save with a scoreless ninth.
Ezequiel Tovar was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double in the win. He scored two runs and had two RBIs. Francisco Lindor went 2 for 4 with a double and one RBI for the Mets.
ON THE MOUND
Ryan Feltner (2-2, 4.45 ERA) is set to get the start for Colorado. The RHP allowed two runs over 5.1 innings in his last start, a 3-2 road win over the Brewers on Tuesday. He scattered six hits while striking out three and walking one in the no-decision.
Feltner is making his first appearance against the Mets this season. Feltner made one start against the Mets in 2022, a 3-1 road loss on August 25. He surrendered three runs on six hits over 4.2 innings, striking out two and walking two.
Lefty Joey Lucchesi (1-0, 3.86 ERA) is on the mound for New York. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Rockies.
In his last start on Wednesday, Lucchesi took a no-decision on the road against the Tigers. He threw four innings and gave up four runs on five hits, striking out one, in the 6-5 loss.
