Philadelphia Phillies @ Colorado Rockies – 3:10PM ET

The Colorado Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies will be playing the third and final game of their three-game series. In-game one Colorado got the win, in-game two Colorado clinched the series with a close win.

Tony Battalio

The Philadelphia Phillies have gotten off to a rough start this season as they will come into this series finale with the Rockies with a record of 4-8 through their first 12 games of the regular season. The Phillies will have to turn it around if they want to keep pace with the New York Mets at this rate. Taking the ball for Philadelphia in this will be Zach Eflin who is 0-1 on the season with a 4.50 Earned Run Average, in two starts.

The Colorado Rockies have the opportunity to sweep the Philadelphia Phillies after taking the first two games in the series. Colorado is off to a surprisingly fast start this season as they come into this series finale with a record of 8-3 through their first 11 games of the season. Taking the ball for them in this one will be German Marquez who is 0-0 on the year with a 3.97 Earned Run Average after two starts. As for the result of this game I have the Colorado Rockies completing the sweep over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Colorado Rockies (+102)

Jeffery Thomas

This game will be the conclusion of the three-game series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies. Zach Eflin is getting the start in this one for the Phillies, his third of the season and he has an 0-1 record with a 4.50 ERA so far. It will be his first time facing the Rockies since 2019 and he will be opposed by German Marquez. Marquez is also winless on the season (0-0) and has a 3.97 ERA in 11.1 innings. He did great against the Phillies last season, only giving up 2 runs and 12 hits in 12.0 innings, and will look to keep that form against them this season.

German Marquez was an All-Star last season and I think he will finally show that form for the first time in 2022 on Wednesday. Philly isn’t a great team against right-handed pitchers while the opposite is the case for the Rockies. Colorado will have the advantage on the mound and at the dish and will use that to get this home win in the series finale.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Colorado Rockies (+102)

Marko Nadin

The Colorado Rockies are having a great start to the season as they are second in the NL West with an 8-3 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games including the first two games of the series against Philadelphia. Colorado has the best AVG so far in the season with .282 and the best OPS with .806. They are ranked 8th scoring 4.95 runs per game. Colorado will start German Marquez tonight who has a 3.97 ERA for the season. The Rockies have won 5 of their last 7 home games.

The Philadelphia Phillies are at the bottom of NL East with a 4-8 record. They have lost 7 of the last 8 games after starting the season with back-to-back wins over Oakland. The Phillies are ranked 18th in the league scoring 4.08 runs per game and 27th in the league allowing 5.21 runs per game. They will start Zach Eflin tonight who is 0.1 for the season with a 4.50 ERA. Philadelphia has won 8 of the last 10 games after losing the previous two games in a series and 6 of the last 8 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Philadelphia Phillies (-120)

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Guardians – 6:10PM ET

The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians will be playing the second game of a doubleheader in this one after their first couple of games were postponed. Chicago comes in at 6-3 while Cleveland is 4-5 as each team has played nine games this season.

Tony Battalio

The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians have yet to play this season thanks to some untimely weather. Now they will finally get a chance and it will come as part of a day and night doubleheader on Wednesday. These two games are going to be entirely different as game one is likely to feature a pitcher’s duel between Dallas Keuchel and Shane Bieber. While game two is going to likely be a bunch of minor league spot holders taking the field. Jimmy Lambert gets the ball for the south siders in this one while Triston McKenzie takes the ball for the Cleveland Guardians.

The White Sox are the likely favorites in the American League Central this season. They are heading into this set of games with a 6-3 record through their first nine games of the season. While the Cleveland Guardians are limping in on a three-game losing streak with a record of 4-5 through their first nine games. As the offense has seemingly gone cold once again. This presents an interesting dynamic in this one because there is no telling who will be playing the back nine this one with a game earlier in the day. However, I’m going to go with the Cleveland Guardians in game two.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians

Jeffery Thomas

This will be Game 2 of a double-header between the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday games were postponed due to inclement weather so now we get two on Wednesday, with the other game to be made up in July. Triston McKenzie of the Guardians will take the hill against Jimmy Lambert of the White Sox in this one, as both right-handers are searching for their first wins of the new season. Not only have both guys not won this year, but have not won against their opponents on Wednesday. McKenzie is sporting an 0-2 record with a 10.07 ERA in 5 starts against the White Sox and Lambert is 0-1 with a 4.70 ERA in two starts against Cleveland in their careers.

I think this game is going to come down to the pitching and I’ll lean with Cleveland in that aspect. Lambert doesn’t have much experience and that’s not a good thing when going against this Guardians offense that has shown the ability to explode offensively. I think McKenzie will do enough to keep the Chicago bats at bay and get the home team the win.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians

Marko Nadin

The Cleveland Guardians are third in the AL Central with a 4-5 record. They are opening the series against the Chicago White Sox after being swept in the three-game series against the San Francisco Giant. The Guardians are third in the league scoring 5.51 runs per game and are ranked second with .276 AVD and .800 OVS. They are ranked 16th in the league allowing 4.28 runs per game. Cleveland will start Shane Bieber who has 2.70 ERA for the season.

The Chicago White Sox are on top of the AL Central with a 6-3 record. They are coming off 2-1 series against Settle and Tampa Bay losing the third games of each series. The White Sox are ranked 14th in the league scoring 4.24 runs per game and are 9th hitting 1.12 home runs per game. Defensively they are on top of the league with 10.49 strikeouts per game. Chicago has won 3 of the last 5 games against Cleveland. They will start Dallas Keuchel tonight who is 1-0 for the season with 5.40 ERA.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians

San Francisco Giants @ New York Mets – 7:10PM ET

The New York Mets and San Francisco Giants will be playing game three of their four-game series in this one. The Mets currently hold a 2-0 lead and will be looking to clinch the series in this third game.

Tony Battalio

I’ll be the first one to say this series has not gone how I would’ve expected it to go. As the San Francisco Giants came in red hot fresh off sweeping the Cleveland Guardians, only to be in danger of now being swept themselves by the New York Mets. As the San Francisco Giants lost both games of the doubleheader on Tuesday and now will need to find a way to get back on track on Wednesday in the third game of this four-game series. On the mound for the Giants in this one will be Carlos Rodon which gives me a ton of faith for the Bay Area’s favorite team in this one.

The New York Mets have started the 2022 Major League Baseball season off great as they come into this one with a record of 9-3 through their first 12 games of the season. They will be looking to take a 3-0 lead in the series in this one and set themselves up to get a sweep on Thursday. Taking the mound for the Mets in this one will be Chris Bassitt who is 2-0 on the season with a 0.75 Earned Run Average so this one is like going to be a pitcher’s duel. As for the result of this one, however, I’m taking the Giants to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-106)

Jeffery Thomas

The San Francisco Giants and New York Mets played a doubleheader on Tuesday that was dominated by the home Mets. New York took the afternoon game 5-4 in 10 innings and followed that up with a 3-1 win later that night. Max Scherzer got the win in the nightcap, moving his record to 3-0 and he had a no-hitter going into the 6th inning. The Mets are now 9-3 and winners of six of their last seven while the Giants went from 7-2 to 7-4 in a matter of hours.

The New York Mets will have all the confidence in this game after sweeping the doubleheader and now hand the ball to Chris Bassitt who has been lights out this year. He is 2-0 with an 0.75 ERA and gets a Giants lineup that is still dealing with a few injuries. I look for the Mets to once again take care of business at home against this shorthanded Giants club and with Francisco Lindor’s success against Carlos Rodon in the past, don’t hesitate to take his props.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-110)

Marko Nadin

The New York Mets won the first three games of the series against the San Francisco Giants by 8-3, 9-3 and 3-1 and are on top of the NL East with a 9-3 record. The Mets score 4.96 runs per game which put them 7th in the league and are fifth with a .251 AVG. They will start Chris Bassist who is 2-0 this season with a 0.75 ERA. The Mets have won 5 of the last 6 games, 4 of the last 5 home games and 23 of the last 29 games with the total set at 6.5 or lower.

The San Francisco Giant are third in the NL West with a 7-4 record. They were on a five-game winning streak including a 3-0 sweep in the series against Cleveland before losing three straight to the Mets. San Francisco is ranked 11th in the league with 4.35 runs per game and second allowing 2.54 runs per game. They will start Carlos Rodon who is 1-0 this season with a 1.50 ERA. The Giants have won 6 of the last 10 games against the Mets and 14 of the last 20 games against NL East teams.

Marko’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-106)

Los Angeles Angels @ Houston Astros – 6:40PM ET

The Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros will be playing the finale of their three-game series. It is currently split 1-1 as Houston picked up the win in game number one and Los Angeles evened it up on Tuesday.

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Angels have a great shot at winning this series against the Houston Astros on Wednesday. As their superstar is on the mound in the form of Shohei Ohtani. Despite his struggles on the hill early in the year, I think he will turn it around in this one, and try his best to guide the Los Angeles Angels to a win as they will likely be without Mike Trout who is still day today. The Angels are such a talented team but it just never seems to gel for them. So it will be interesting to see how this season pans out.

The Houston Astros come into this game with a record of 6-5 through their first eleven games of the season. They are a half-game behind their opponents in this one as Los Angeles comes into this game at 7-5 through their first 12 games of the season. These teams are already familiar with one another as this will be the seventh game they have played together this year already. As for the result of this one I am taking the Los Angeles Angels to pick up the victory over the Houston Astros to pull the season series to 4-3 in favor of Houston.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels (-136)

Jeffery Thomas

The Los Angeles Angels have gotten off to a really good start this season and they can attribute that to their offense. They rank first in home runs and second in stolen bases, both categories that are being led by Shohei Ohtani. Expectations were high for Ohtani and LA coming into the season and if they can keep this up, they’ll be in the postseason for the first time since 2014. Ohtani is taking the bump in this game on Wednesday, and it hasn’t been a great start for him in that aspect. He is 0-2 with a 7.56 ERA and history says things won’t get much better as he hasn’t performed well in his career against the Astros. He is winless (0-3) with a 5.56 ERA against Houston who will be happy to see him on the mound.

The Angels struggling bullpen paired with Ohtani’s shaky history against the Astros gives pause in backing the Angels. The Astros will be looking for a bounce-back after Tuesday’s loss and I think this is a great spot for them to get it. Before last game, the Astros were 4-1 against LAA on the season so expect them to get back to dominating their divisional foe.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (+116)

Marko Nadin

The Houston Astros are third in AL West with a 6-5 record. After winning by 8-3 in the first game against the Angels they lost the second one by 7-2. Houston is fourth in the league with 1.19 home runs per game and 22nd with 3.83 runs per game. They will start Jake Odorizzi tonight who is 0-1 for the season with a 6.48 ERA. The Astros have 4 of the last 5 games following a loss, 8 of the last 11 games allowing 5 or more runs in the previous game, and 7 of the last 10 games against AL West teams.

The Los Angeles Angels are on top of the AL West with a 7-5 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games including a 7-2 win over the Astros in the previous game. The Angels are ranked 7th in the league scoring 5.01 runs per game and 4th with .258 AVG. Defensively they are 23rd allowing 4.75 runs per game. The Angels will start Shohei Ohtani who is surprisingly 0-2 for the season with a 7.56 ERA. Los Angeles has 6 of the last 7 games after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels (-136)

Texas Rangers @ Seattle Mariners – 9:40PM ET

The Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners will be playing game two of their three-game series in this one. The Mariners hold a 1-0 advantage and will be looking to clinch the series in this second game.

Tony Battalio

It’s already got the makings of a long season for the Texas Rangers as they come into this game at 2-8 through their first ten games of the season. They have now lost four in a row and it seems like it’s not going to end anytime soon for them. They retooled their entire team over the offseason and the results right now make that look like a massive failure, however there is still plenty of time for them to turn it around, it is only April 20th after all. Taking the ball for the Rangers in this one will be Dane Dunning who is 0-0 on the year with a 5.19 Earned Run Average.

The Seattle Mariners are coming into this game with a record of 6-5 through their first eleven games of the season. They have already picked up one win in this series and will be looking to clinch it today and set themselves up for a sweeping opportunity on Thursday. Seattle is a young team and I think this year is the year they break their playoff drought. I also think they pick up the win in this one over the Texas Rangers to clinch the series heading into the finale.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (-156)

Jeffery Thomas

The Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners are set to play game 2 of their quick three-game set on Wednesday. It’s been a rough start to the season for the Rangers who were 2-7 heading into Tuesday’s action and on a three-game losing streak. All three losses were by at least 3 runs and they will once again get a tough test against this Seattle team that is trying to find their way into a wild-card this year. The Mariners are at 5-5 heading into Tuesday and coming off a series win over the powerhouse Astros. They made some moves in the offseason, most notably for Robbie Ray, and are not settling for another disappointing season after narrowly missing the playoffs last year.

For teams with aspirations on making the playoffs, they have to see games like this against inferior opponents as must-wins. These are games to stack in the win column and I like Seattle’s chances of doing so with Logan Gilbert on the mound. He has pitched 10 innings and only allowed 1 run all year and is being opposed by Dan Dunning who was roughed up last time out and has an ERA over 5.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (-156)

Marko Nadin

The Seattle Mariners are second in the AL West with a 6-5 record. They won 6-2 in the opening game of the series against the Texas Rangers. The Mariners are 14th in the league scoring 4.26 runs per game and 8th allowing 3.51 runs per game. They will start Sandy Alcantara who is 1-0 for the season with a 3.18 ERA. Seattle has won 5 of the last 6 home games against a right-handed starter and 17 of the last 21 games when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.

The Texas Rangers are at the bottom of the AL West with a 2-8 record. They have lost the last 4 games allowing at least 6 runs in each of them. Texas is ranked fourth in the league with 5.22 runs per game but is ranked 30th allowing 6.65 runs per game. The Rangers have lost the last 6 games against Seattle, 17 of the last 21 games played on Wednesday, and the last 7 games when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (-156)
