Chicago Cubs @ Cincinnati Reds – 6:40PM ET

The Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds will be playing the second game of their four game weekday series in this one. In game number one it was the Cubs who picked up the victory. Now they will be looking to clinch at least a share of the series in game two.

Tony Battalio

The short burst of the success the Cincinnati Reds enjoyed seems to be over now. As they come into the middle game of this series after losing by multiple runs in game one on Monday. The loss drops the Reds record on the season to a Major League Baseball worst 12-29 through their first 41 games of the season. They are now 13.5 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers for first place in the National League Central and 5-5 in their last ten games of the season. They are likely going to be confined to the basement for the entire season.

The Chicago Cubs got a nice win to open up this four game series against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday. Now they will be looking to grab the win in game two to clinch at least a share of the series with another victory. They come into this game with a record of 17-24 through their first 41 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently on a two game winning streak as they are 6-4 in their last ten games of the season. As for the result of this game I am going with the Chicago Cubs to get another win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Chicago Cubs (+100)

Jeffery Thomas

The Chicago Cubs got their second consecutive victory on Monday in the series opener against the Cincinnati Reds. In the 7-4 win, Ian Happ got two hits and drove in four runs. Happ and Patrick Wisdom were the only two Cubs players to drive in runs, Wisdom having 3. The Reds lost their league-high 29th game and starting pitcher Vladimir Gutierrez moved to 0-6 on the season.

I think the game on Tuesday is a good spot for the hapless Reds though, as Chicago will be starting Marcus Stroman. The Cubs are just 1-5 in games started by Stroman this season while Reds starter Tyler Mahle has been a bright spot for the ball club. He’s given up two runs or fewer in each of his last three starts and I see him once again having a solid day on the hill, leading the Reds to victory.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Cincinnati Reds (-118)

Marko Nadin

The Cincinnati Reds are the team with the worst record in the league as they sit at the bottom of the NL Central with a 12-29 record. The Reds have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 7-4 loss in the series opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They are 21st in the league scoring 4.08 runs per game and are the worst defensive team in the league allowing 5.84 runs per game. Cincinnati will start Tyler Mahle tonight who is 2-4 for the season with a 5.23 ERA. The Reds have won 5 of the last 7 games against a right-handed pitcher.

The Chicago Cubs are third in the NL Central with a 17-24 record. They have won back-to-back games after losing the previous four straight. The Cubs are 17th in the league scoring 4.41 runs per game and are ranked 18th with 4.29 allowed runs per game. Marcus Stroman will start for the Cubs tonight who is 1-4 for the season with a 4.88 ERA. The Cubs have won 5 of the last 7 road games and have lost 18 of the last 26 games against a right-handed starting pitcher and 9 of the last 12 second games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Chicago Cubs (+100)

Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees – 7:05PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees will be playing the second game of their three game weekday series in this one. In game number one it was the Orioles who picked up the victory. Now they will be looking to clinch the series victory in game two.

Tony Battalio

The Baltimore Orioles got a huge win in game number one of this series in what many people would consider an upset as they faced Gerrit Cole. The win takes their record to 18-25 through their first 43 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They will be looking to grab another upset victory over the Yankees and clinch the series victory. They did get a series win over the Yankees back in early April in Baltimore, but getting one in the Bronx would be much more impressive.

The New York Yankees will be looking to bounce back in this one after their shocking loss to the Baltimore Orioles in game one of this three game series. Despite the loss they are still playing like one of the best teams in Major League Baseball so far this season. They come into this game with a record of 29-13 through their first 42 games. They are the top team in the league record wise through the first quarter of the regular season. As for the result of this game I am going with the Yankees to get the bounce back win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-270)

Jeffery Thomas

The New York Yankees are the best team in baseball record-wise but are currently riding a three-game losing streak following their 6-4 loss to Baltimore on Monday. Ramon Urias was a thorn in the side of the Yankees all night as he scored two runs and recorded three hits including a tie breaking homer in the sixth inning to give the Os the lead for good.

Aaron Judge was the line bright spot for New York blasting two home runs of his own, upping his league-lead up to 17. I wouldn’t expect another loss for the Yanks on Tuesday though, as the Orioles are a team they’ve been able to take care of all year, going 7-4 against them so far.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-270)

Marko Nadin

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 29-13 record. They have lost three consecutive games which is their longest losing streak of the season so far. The Yankees are leading the league with 1.38 home runs per game and are the best defensive team in the league allowing only 3.14 runs per game. Jordan Montgomeery will start for the Yankees tonight who is 0-1 for the season with a 3.35 ERA. The Yankees have won 10 of the last 12 games against AL East teams and 20 of the last 26 games as favorites.

The Baltimore Orioles are at the bottom of the AL East with a 18-25 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games including a 6-4 win in the series opener against the Yankees. Baltimore is 27th in the league scoring 3.55 runs per game and 22nd allowing 4.42 runs per game. The Orioles will start Bruce Zimmermann who is 2-2 for the season with a 3.48 ERA. The Orioles have lost 64 of the last 92 games as underdogs, 64 of the last 83 road games and 42 of the last 56 against AL East teams.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-270)

Detroit Tigers @ Minnesota Twins – 7:40PM ET

The Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins will be playing the second game of their three game weekday series in this one. In game number one it was the Twins who picked up the victory. Now they will be looking to clinch the series victory in game two.

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Tigers are looking to bounce back after their loss in game number one of this series. They ran into the Minnesota Twins at the wrong time as the Twins are one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball at the moment. They are currently tied for last place in what many people consider to be the worst division in Major League Baseball. As they are 14.5 games out of first place in the American League Central division.

The Minnesota Twins are playing well above their expectations that were set for them before the season started. They are coming into this game with a record of 26-16 through their first 42 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are 8-2 in their last ten games of the year and are currently on a five game winning streak at the moment. As for the result of this middle game of the series I am going with the Minnesota Twins to pick up the win over the Detroit Tigers.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-245)

Jeffery Thomas

The Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins will continue their series on Tuesday after a close encounter in the series opener Monday. It started off with a grand slam by Max Kepler of the Twins in the first inning and then Detroit just slowly clawed their way back into the game. An RBI single by Miguel Cabrera in the 7th tied the game up at 4 but the Tigers just couldn’t get all the way over the hump.

Gio Urshela got the walk-off single in the ninth inning to give the Twins their 26th win of the season and extend their lead in the AL Central. That was likely the closest the Tigers will get to winning a game this series as this Twins team is just much better and the pitching advantage on Tuesday is just too large to even see this game being competitive at all. Beau Brieske is a rookie starting for the Tigers and hasn’t registered a win yet in his short career. Don’t count on this game changing that.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-245)

Marko Nadin

The Minnesota Twins are on top of the AL Central with a 26-16 record. They have won the last 5 games including a 5-4 win last night against the Tigers. Minnesota is 12th in the league with 4.41 runs per game and fifth in the league allowing 3.64 runs per game. They will start Sony Gray tonight who is 1-1 for the season with a 3.48 ERA. Minnesota has won 13 of the last 16 games as a home favorite and 16 of the last 21 games against AL Central opponents.

The Detroit Tigers are at the bottom of the AL Central with a 14-27 record. They have lost 4 of the last 5 games scoring less than 2 runs per game in that span. The Tigers are the worst offensive team in the league scoring only 2.85 runs per game and are ranked 13th in the league allowing 4.07 runs per game. Rony Garcia will start tonight for Detroit who has a 2.57 ERA for the season. The Tigers have won 4 of the last 5 games on grass and have lost 15 of the last 20 games as underdogs.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-245)

Cleveland Guardians @ Houston Astros – 8:10PM ET

The Cleveland Guardians and Houston Astros will be playing the second game of their three game weekday series in this one. In game number one it was the Guardians who picked up the victory. Now they will be looking to clinch the series victory in game two.

Tony Battalio

The Cleveland Guardians offense looked great in this series opening game against the three time American League pennant winners. They will be looking to grab another win in game two of this series and snatch a much needed series victory from one of the best teams in Major League Baseball. They come into this game with a record of 18-20 through their first 38 games of the season. They are currently in third place of the American League Central at the moment as they are six games back of the division leading Minnesota Twins.

The Houston Astros are coming into this one after getting off to a fast start during the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They come into this game with a record of 27-16 through their first 43 games of the year. They are currently in first place of the American League West division as they hold a slim lead over the Los Angeles Angels at the moment. They are 5-5 in their last ten games on the year. As for the result of this game I am going with the Cleveland Guardians to get another win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (+172)

Jeffery Thomas

The Cleveland Guardians got a successful result in game one of this seven-game road trip taking down the Astros in Houston. It was a nice win for a team that had lost six of their last eight coming in and the catalyst for the victory was starting pitcher Triston McKenzie.

McKenzie pitched seven strong innings, allowing just 3 hits and one earned run against this loaded Houston offense. A repeat pitching performance to that magnitude shouldn’t be expected, especially with Zach Plesac taking the mound on Tuesday. He’s given up 16 runs in his last four starts and it’s likely he gets tagged pretty hard in this one as well. Give me the Astros to bounce-back.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-205)

Marko Nadin

The Houston Astros are on top of the AL West with a 27-16 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games but failed in the series opener against Cleveland 6-1. The Astros are 14th in the league scoring 4.37 runs per game and second in the league allowing only 3.23 runs per game. The Astros will start Framber Valdez tonight who is 3-2 for the season with a 2.68 ERA. Houston has won 9 of the last 14 home games and 15 of the last 20 games as home favorite.

The Cleveland Guardians are third in the AL Central with a 18-20 record. They have lost 4 of the last 6 games. The Guardians are 8th in the league scoring 4.70 runs per game and are ranked 24th in the league allowing 4.56 runs per game. Cleveland will start Zach Plesac tonight who is 1-3 for the season with a 4.42 ERA. Cleveland has won 4 of the last 6 games against left-handed pitchers and 12 of the last 16 games after scoring 6 or more runs in the previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-205)

Milwaukee Brewers @ San Diego Padres – 9:40PM ET

The Milwaukee Brewers and San Diego Padres will be playing the second game of their three game weekday series in this one. In game number one it was the Padres who picked up the victory. Now they will be looking to clinch the series victory in game two.

Tony Battalio

The Milwaukee Brewers are cold right now as they added another loss to their current losing streak which now sits at two games. They are still in first place in the National League Central as they currently have a record of 26-16 through their first 42 games of the season. They are 6-4 in their last ten games of the season. They will need to start grabbing some wine soon as the St.Louis Cardinals are heating up as they are on a four game winning streak at the moment.

The San Diego Padres are looking to capitalize on their momentum from their win in the first game of this series. They are streaking at the moment as they have won five games in a row and find themselves only a half game behind the division leading Los Angeles Dodgers. They are coming into this game with a record of 28-14 through their first 42 games of the season. As for the result of this game I am going with the San Diego Padres to get another win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: San Diego Padres (+120)

Jeffery Thomas

The San Diego Padres pulled out a 3-2 victory in extra innings on Monday over the Milwaukee Brewers. Jose Azocar was the hero of the day as a pinch runner brought in for Luke Voit, he ends up getting two at-bats, the second of which was the walk-off single. This is a battle of two of the best teams in the National League so this will be a very fun series and the game Monday was just a glimpse into what we can expect over the next two two games.

I’m also expecting a back and forth series which is why I’m rolling with the Brewers on Tuesday, with their stud pitcher Corbin Burnes against the struggling Blake Snell. Snell hasn’t gotten his legs under him on the year yet, losing his only start and giving up 3 runs in less than four innings of work. Give me Burnes and the Brew to even things up in game two.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers (-142)

Marko Nadin

The San Diego Padres are second in the NL West with a 28-14 record. They have won the last 5 games including a 3-2 10th inning win in the series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Padres are 11th in the league scoring 4.52 runs per game and 7th allowing 3.72 runs per game. The Padres will start Blake Snell tonight who is 0-1 for the season with a 7.36 ERA. San Diego has won 9 of the last 12 games against NL Central opponents and 4 of the last 5 games against a right-handed starting pitcher.

The Milwaukee Brewers are on top of the NL Central with a 26-16 record. They have lost the last 2 games after winning the previous 3. Two of the last five games have gone into an extra inning for the Brewers. Milwaukee is 6th in the league scoring 4.80 runs per game and are 11th in the league allowing 4 runs per game. Corbin Burnes will start for Milwaukee tonight who is 1-2 for the season with a 2.26 ERA. The Brewers have won 7 of the last 10 second games of a series and 5 of the last 6 games played on Tuesday.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers (-142)
