American League @ National League – 8PM ET

The Major League Baseball all-star game is finally here. As the games best and brightest stars will face off in one of the best showcases in all of professional sports. This game could truly go either way this season as it is going to be one of the most star-studded games you see all year.

Tony Battalio

The 2022 All-Star game is here and it is going to be an intense game. Both of these rosters are loaded and ready to go and both teams could easily win this matchup. It is likely going to be on the lower scoring side as the league’s best pitchers will also be on the mound. Starting for the American League in this game on the mound is Shane McClanahan of the Tampa Bay Rays. Their lineup is Ohtani, Judge, Devers, Vladdy Jr., Stanton, Buxton, Anderson, Gimenez, and Kirk.

For the National League, Acuna will hit leadoff, followed by Betts, then Machado, Goldschmidt, Turner, Contreras, Contreras, Pederson, and McNeil. Clayton Kershaw will take the mound in his own home stadium in what could possibly be his final all-star appearance. This is a rough one to pick but at the end of the day I have to go with the American League squad to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

American League (-105)

The All Star Break will come to its climax on Tuesday with the All Star Game in Los Angeles. The American League has dominated in recent history, winning the last eight Midsummer classics but it is the National League that comes in as the favorite this year. Both teams are obviously loaded with offensive talent but with that also comes duels with some of the best pitchers in the entire league.

That should set us up for a pretty low-scoring contest despite all of the home runs we saw at Dodgers Stadium on Monday in the Home Run Derby. The AL being underdogs despite winning the vast majority of these meetings is interesting and it shows they take this game a little more seriously than their counterparts in the NL. It also helps that they will have the Yankees duo of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton alongside the dynamic pitcher/slugger Shohei Ohtani. I think we are being presented with great value with them and in the end it’s just too much to handle as they once again take down the NL.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

American League (-105)

After an exciting Home Run Derby we can expect even more exciting All Star Game in Los Angeles on Tuesday. According to the odds, the National League is going into the game as slight favorite despite the fact that the American League has won the last eight All Star Games. Shane McClanahan from the Tampa Bay Rays is the probable starter for the American League. He is 10-3 for the season with a 1.71 ERA. Clayton Kershaw from the Los Angeles Dodgers will be on the other side starting for the National League. He is 6-2 for the season with a 2.40 ERA.

It is really hard to predict the winner, so I suggest placing a bet on over 7.5 total runs. Only one of the last 5 All Star Games have gone over this margin and three others have been just under it. Both teams have great hitters and this game will definitely go over 7.5 runs.

Marko’s MLB Pick:

Over Total Runs (-105)
