St.Louis Cardinals @ Miami Marlins – 6:40PM ET

The St.Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins will be kicking off their three-game series in this one. The Marlins are coming off of a 3-1 series win over the Philadelphia Phillies. While the Cardinals are coming off of a 2-2 series split with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Tony Battalio

The St.Louis Cardinals are coming into this one looking to get back on track after a four-game series split with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cardinals are having a decent start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season as they come into this midweek series with a record of 5-3 through their first eight games of the season. Taking the ball for the Red Birds in this one is going to be Adam Wainwright, he is 1-1 on the season with a 3.48 Earned Run Average.

The Miami Marlins are coming into this one with a record of 4-5 through their first nine games of the season. The Marlins got a huge set of wins in their last series against the Philadelphia Phillies as they took a four-game series three games to one. Miami isn’t expected to be very competitive this season but they haven’t gotten off to a bad start this year. The real test will be if they can remain consistent throughout 162 games. As for the result of this game, I’m taking the St.Louis Cardinals to pick up the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-118)

Jeffery Thomas

The St.Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins both got Monday off and now are set to kick off three-game series on Tuesday night. Jesus Luzardo will take the bump for the Marlins after a 12-strikeout performance his last time out. He did all of that in just five innings of work, while only giving up 2 hits and one run against the Los Angeles Angels. Luzardo has never faced the Cardinals yet but is solid in his short career in games at Miami with a 4-2 record there. He will be opposed by 40-year-old Adam Wainwright who is 1-1 with a 3.48 ERA so far this season.

The Cardinals have not lost a series yet this season and have been enjoying some great pitching. Adam Wainwright still has great stuff and usually does well against Miami, posting an ERA just above 3 against them for his career. The Cards went a perfect 6-0 against Miami last year and have one of the top bullpens in all of baseball to start the new year. I like this Cardinals team a lot and see this as their game to win on Tuesday.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-118)

Marko Nadin

The Miami Marlins are second in the NL East with a 4-5 record. They are going into the series against the Cardinals after winning the one against the Phillies by 3-1. The Marlins are 12th in the league scoring 4.44 runs per game and are 13th allowing 4.22 runs per game. The Marlins will start Jesus Luzardo who has a 1.80 ERA this season. Miami has won the last 4 games against right-handed starting pitchers and 6 of the last 7 games as a home underdog.

The St.Louis Cardinals are on top of the NL Central with a 5-3 record. They are coming off a 6-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers from a series that finished 2-2. The Cardinals are second in the league scoring 5.53 runs per game and leading the league with 1.54 home runs per game. They have won the last 6 and 8 of the last 10 games against Miami. The Cardinals will start Adam Wainwright who is 1-1 for the season with a 3.48 ERA. St.Louis has won 9 of the last 10 games against a left-handed starting pitcher.

Marko’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-118)

New York Yankees @ Detroit Tigers – 6:40PM ET

The New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers will be kicking off their three-game series in this one. The Tigers are coming off of a 2-1 series win over the Kansas City Royals. While the Yankees are coming off of a 1-2 series loss with the Baltimore Orioles.

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees have one goal set this season and it is the same goal they have going into every single season. That goal is to win a World Series, which they haven’t done since 2009, and for a team that used to average one every three years, 13 years seems like a lifetime. New York comes into this one with a record of 5-5 through their first ten games of the season. Gerrit Cole will take the mound for the Bronx Bombers in this one as he looks to pick up his first win of the season.

The Detroit Tigers come into this one with a record of 4-5 through their first nine games of the season. They have been stuck in a bit of a rebuild over the last few years as they are seemingly waiting for Miguel Cabrera’s massive contract to come off the books. Taking the ball for the Tigers in this one will be Tyler Alexander, who will be making his second start of the season. He comes into this start with a record of 0-0 with a 5.06 Earned Run Average. As for the result of this one I’m taking the New York Yankees.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-210)

Jeffery Thomas

Gerrit Cole will make his third start of the season when the Yankees travel to Detroit to take on the Tigers. He is yet to pick up his first win of the season but this spot is a good one to do so, as he has a 6-1 record against the Tigers with a 1.92 ERA. The Yankees will be looking for a bounce-back after losing two of three to the Orioles and being shut out 5-0 on Sunday. The Detroit Tigers have been off since Saturday due to postponed games and are coming off winning two of three against the Kansas City Royals. This came despite only scoring seven runs in those three games so the pitching has been the catalyst. This series is big because Miguel Cabrera could make history, needing just 5 hits to become a member of the 3,000 hit club.

This Yankees team is showing some signs of concern to start the year and going to Cole on the mound is usually the answer to all their struggles. However, he is struggling too and with how well the Detroit pitching staff is doing top to bottom, I can see the Yankees not scoring a lot again in this one. They are simply being too overvalued here after an awful showing against Baltimore and I am going to take the run with the underdog Tigers who are a sneaky team.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Detroit Tigers +1.5 (+100)

Marko Nadin

The Detroit Tigers are second in the AL Central with a 4-5 record. They are coming off a 3-1 loss to Kansas City after winning the previous two games against the Royals. The Tigers are 26th in the league scoring 3.15 runs per game and 20th allowing 4.5 runs per game. Detroit will start Tyler Alexander who has a 5.06 ERA this season. Detroit has won the last three games against the Yankees and 5 of the last 6 games following a day off. They have also won 20 of the last 29 games played on Tuesday.

The New York Yankees are second in the AL East with a 5-5 record. They are coming off a 5-0 loss to the Baltimore Orioles in a series that which they lost 2 games to one. The Yankees are ranked 4th in the league allowing only 2.82 runs per game but they play pretty bad at-bat scoring only 2.91 runs per game which ranked them 28th in the league. The Yankees will start Gerrit Cole tonight who has a 5.59 ERA for the season. They have won 9 of the last 10 games following a day off.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-210)

Toronto Blue Jays @ Boston Red Sox – 7:10PM ET

The Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox will be kicking off their three-game series in this one. The Blue Jays are coming off of a 2-1 series win over the Oakland Athletics. While the Red Sox are coming off of a 2-2 series split with the Minnesota Twins.

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Blue Jays are a team that is loaded with young talent and this year could end up being a breakout year for all of them. As the Jays are one of the top favorites to win the American League pennant and the World Series as well. Toronto comes into this game with a record of 6-4 through their first ten games of the season. They have yet to lose a series this year as they have two wins and a split. They are currently in the first place in the American League East as they hold a one-game lead over the Boston Red Sox.

The Boston Red Sox come into this game fresh off of a four-game series split with the Minnesota Twins. The Red Sox have gotten off to a decent start this season as they come into this game with a record of 5-5 through their first ten games of the season. They currently find themselves in second place in the American League East as they trail the Toronto Blue Jays by a single game and can take control of the division in this series. However, as for the result of this game, I am taking the Toronto Blue Jays to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (+120)

Jeffery Thomas

The Boston Red Sox will open up Fenway Park got the first time in 2022 on Tuesday when they start a series up with their divisional foe Toronto Blue Jays. The Sox were in action on Monday, losing 8-3 to the Minnesota Twins. Boston won this matchup last year 10 to 9 but this Blue Jays team is much more confident this season will come into this game with the lead in the AL East 10 games in.

I see this as a high-scoring affair between two great offenses facing pitchers that both are susceptible to giving up the deep ball. The Red Sox are due for an offensive explosion after getting just 3 runs on Monday and I’m expecting at least 5 from them. Take the over as these two rivals will trade blows in a very entertaining game in Boston.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Over 9 (-115)

Marko Nadin

The Boston Red Sox are second in the AL East with a 5-5 record. They are coming off an 8-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins in a series they split 2-2. The Red Sox are 11th in the league scoring 4.55 runs per game and 16th allowing 4.35 runs per game. Boston will start Nathan Eovaldi tonight who is 1-0 for the season with a 4.50 ERA. The Red Sox have won 4 of the last 5 games and 7 of the last 10 games following a loss. They have lost the last 4 opening games of a series.

The Toronto Blue Jays are on top of the AL East with a 6-4 record. They are coming off a 4-3 win over the Oakland Athletics from a series they won 2 games to 1. The Blue Jays are ranked 13th in the league scoring 4.30 runs per game and 21st allowing 4.60 runs per game. Toronto will start Yusei Kikuchi tonight who is 0-1 for the season with a 5.40 ERA. The Blue Jays have won 4 of the last 5 games against the Red Sox scoring more than 10 runs in two of those wins.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays +1.5 (-178)

Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago Cubs – 7:40PM ET

The Tampa Bay Rays and Chicago Cubs will be playing the second game of their three-game series in this one. In-game one of the series it was the Chicago Cubs who picked up the victory by a score of 4-2.

Tony Battalio

The Tampa Bay Rays are expected to be one of the best teams in baseball this season. However, they are having a bit of a slow start to the year as they come into this one with a record of 5-6 through their first 11 games on the season after losing the series opener to the Chicago Cubs on Monday. Now they will be looking to bounce back in game two as they have gotten off to a rough start in the 2022 Major League Baseball season. However, it’s early on in the year and I still have plenty of faith in the Rays.

The Chicago Cubs have seemingly started a new era as all the main guys from that 2016 World Series-winning team are now on new adventures with other teams. The Cubs are coming into this matchup with a record of 6-4 through their first ten games of the season. They now lead this series 1-0 after a big win on Monday and now they will look to clinch the series on Tuesday. However, as for the result of this one, I am taking the Tampa Bay Rays to even up the series heading into the finale on Wednesday.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-116)

Jeffery Thomas

The Chicago Cubs got the victory in game 1 of this three-game set by a score of 4-2 on Monday. Cubs rookie Seiya Suzuki pushed his hitting streak out to nine games and is now batting a ridiculous .429 on the season. The Rays’ young star Wander Franco was a late scratch due to quad tightness. His offense was missed, as he’s batting .361 with 16 hits in the first ten games of the year. The Rays will get back after it on Tuesday, now with their record sitting at a game under .500.

This Rays offense has pretty much struggled all season and now without Franco in the lineup, there’s no hope for them. They most likely won’t get in a rhythm until later in the year and when they do we will be all over them, but as of right now they can’t be trusted. This feast or famine approach on offense will be famine again on Tuesday and the Cubs will come out on top again.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Chicago Cubs (-102)

Marko Nadin

The Chicago Cubs are second in the NL Central with a 6-4 record. They are coming off a 4-2 win over the Rays in the first game of the series after they split the one against the Colorado Rockies. The Cubs are ranked seventh in the league with 4.97 scored runs per game and are ranked second with .277 AVG and .803 AVS. Chicago will start Justin Steele who is 1-0 for the season with a 1.93 ERA. The Cubs have won 8 of the last 9 games against AL East opponents and 4 of the last 5 games played on grass.

The Tampa Bay Rays are fourth in the AL East with a 5-6 record. They lost the series against the Chicago White Sox 2-1 before facing the Cubs. The Rays are 9th in the league with .218 AVG and 18th scoring 4.45 runs per game. Tampa Bay will start Matt Wisler who has a 1.93 ERA this season. They have won 7 of the last 10 games against the Cubs, 5 of the last 6 games against interleague teams with a winning record, and 24 of the last 30 games as interleague favorites.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Chicago Cubs (-102)

Minnesota Twins @ Kansas City Royals – 8:10PM ET

The Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals will be kicking off their three-game series in this one. The Royals are coming off of a 1-2 series loss against the Tigers. While the Twins are coming off of a 2-2 series split with the Boston Red Sox.

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins are coming into this game with their American League Central division rival fresh off of a four-game series with the Boston Red Sox that resulted in a split of two games to two. Minnesota comes into this series with a record of 4-6 after getting a win over the Boston Red Sox in the series finale on Monday afternoon. Now they will be looking to get a game one win over a slumping Kansas City Royals squad. Minnesota is expected to be the second-best team in the American League Central division this season.

The Kansas City Royals had a decent start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As they started the season 2-0 after two wins over the Cleveland Guardians. Since that second victory, however, they have gone 1-5 over their last six games to come into this one with an overall record of 3-5 as they are in last place of the American League Central. Taking the ball for the Royals in this one will be their Carlos Hernandez who comes into this one with a 0-0 record and a high Earned Run Average of 8.31. As for the result of this game, I am taking the Minnesota Twins to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-116)

Jeffery Thomas

The Kansas City Royals will be nice and rested for this series opener against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. The Royals’ game Sunday was rained out and then they had a scheduled off-day on Monday so they have just been home preparing for the Twins who are coming off an 8-3 win over the Red Sox and a series split. The Royals will hope for a better outing from Carlos Hernandez this time ached getting roughed up by the Indians in his debut.

It’s a true rebuild for the Kansas City Royals and they do not have a lineup that should scare anyone, not even the Twins. Chris Archer had a good debut with Minnesota, throwing 4 scoreless innings against the dangerous bats of the Dodgers, and this step down in competition will suit him well. He will be on another pitch count but I expect him to keep the Royals’ bats quiet while the Twins build up an early lead and then the bullpen to bring them home.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-116)

Marko Nadin

The Kansas City Royals are at the bottom of the AL Central with a 3-5 record. They are coming off a 3-1 win over the Detroit Tigers in a series they lost 2 games to 1. The Royals are the best team in the league with only 6.38 strikeouts per game and are ranked 27th in the league scoring only 3.13 runs per game. Kansas City will start Carlos Hernandez who has an 8.31 ERA for the season. They have won 4 of the last 5 games following a day of 12 of the last 17 opening games of a series.

The Minnesota Twins are fourth in the AL Central with a 4-6 record. They are coming off an 8-3 win over the Boston Red Sox splitting the series two games each. The Twins are ranked seventh in the league hitting 1.23 home runs per game and 23rd with 3.78 runs per game. Minnesota will start Chris Archer who joined the team from Tampa Bay in the off-season. The Twins have won the last two and three of the last five games against Kansas City. They have also won 4 of the last 5 games as road favorites.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-116)
