New York Mets @ Washington Nationals – 1:05PM ET

The New York Mets and Washington Nationals will be playing the third and final game of their three game series in this one. In game one it was the New York Mets who got the win. In game two it was the Nationals who got the win.

Tony Battalio

The Washington Nationals bounced back to tie up this series at one game a piece and now it will all be on the line in Thursday’s finale. After the win Washington will come into this game with a record of 11-21 through their first 32 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They still have a lot of room and a ton of time to improve as the calendar turns towards the middle of May. Starting for them in this one will be Joan Adon, who is having a rough start to his year. As he comes into this game with a record of 1-5 and sporting a 6.99 Earned Run Average.

The New York Mets have been one of the best teams in Major League Baseball throughout the course of the first month of the season. They come into this game with the opportunity to grab a series win in this one as they are sending Taijuan Walker to the mound in this one. He comes into this one with a record of 0-0 in three appearances on the season. As for the result of this one I am going with the New York Mets to get the win and clinch the series victory to improve their record to 22-11.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-156)

Jeffery Thomas

The New York Mets and Washington Nationals will play their series finale on Thursday with the first two games being split between the two teams. The Nats got the 8-3 win on Wednesday as Juan Soto and Nelson Cruz both went deep. Tyler Megill had the shortest outing of his career, recording just 4 outs while giving up eight hits and eight runs. His ERA jumped from 2.43 to 4.41 with this terrible outing and he has now lost two straight starts after a 4-0 start to the season.

The Mets have yet to lose a series all season and I doubt they will make the first one they do lose to this bad Washington team. Joan Adon does not have what it takes to keep this Mets lineup down, as he has a 1-5 record and has allowed 4 or more earned runs in four of his six starts this season. This is the perfect bounce back spot for the Mets who will probably cover a -4.5 line.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Mets -1.5 (+118)

Marko Nadin

The Washington Nationals are at the bottom of the NL East with a 11-21 record. They won last night against the New York Mets 8-3 which was their only second win in the last 7 games. The Nationals are 13th in the league with 4.34 runs per game and 27th in the league allowing 5.21 runs per game. They will start Joan Adon tonight who is 1-5 for the season with a 6.99 ERA. Washington has lost 20 of the last 26 third games of a series and 11 of the last 13 games after scoring 5 or more runs in the previous game.

The New York Mets are on top of the NL East with a 21-11 record. They have won 5 of the last 8 games of the season. The Mets have the highest AVG in the league of .256 and are ranked 8th in the league with 4.53 runs per game and fifth with 3.49 allowed runs per game. The Mets will start Taiujan Walker who has a 4.91 ERA for the season. The Mets have won 10 of the last 11 games following a loss and 7 of the last 9 games when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-156)

Houston Astros @ Minnesota Twins – 1:10PM ET

The Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins will be playing the third and final game of their three game series in this one. In game one it was the Houston Astros who got the win. As game two it was suspended after three innings due to weather.

Tony Battalio

The Twins and Astros will basically be playing a doubleheader in this one after the middle game of their series on Wednesday was suspended in the third frame due to severe weather. They will pick up in the fourth inning with the Astros holding a five to one lead over the Twins. After that game is wrapped up they will get ready for game number two and if the momentum is telling of anything then it looks like the Astros won’t have much of an issue in either one of these games.

It’s been a decent start to the season for both the  Minnesota Twins and the Houston Astros. They are both occupying a playoff spot in the American League thus far. As Minnesota is currently in first place of the American League Central division and Houston is currently in second place of the American League West division. It should be a good pitching matchup as Houston sends Luis Garcia to the mound against Minnesota’s Josh Winder. As for the result of this one I am going with the Minnesota Twins to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (+116)

Jeffery Thomas

The Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins had their Wednesday game suspended after just 3 innings due to a severe thunderstorm that rolled through. They will pick up and play the final 6 innings and then 30 minutes after that play the game originally scheduled for Thursday.

When play was halted the Astros were in good shape to record their 9th consecutive victory as they led 5-1, but there is still plenty of game left. There’s no way to bet against Houston right now and even with this doubleheader being on the road I see them getting both wins to finish out the sweep.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-136)

Marko Nadin

The Minnesota Twins are on top of the AL Central with an 18-12 record. The game against the Astros last night was suspended in the 4th inning with the Twins being down 5-1 after losing the previous one by 5-0 to the Astros. The Twins are 21st in the league scoring 3.98 runs per game and 4th in the league allowing 3.44 runs per game. Minnesota will start Josh Winder tonight who is 2-0 for the season with a 1.61 ERA. Minnesota has won 9 of the last 10 home games.

The Houston Astros are second in the AL West with a 19-11 record. They are one of the hottest teams in the league at the moment as they have won the last 8 games not allowing a single run in four of those games. Houston is fifth in the league hitting 1.24 home runs per game and third allowing 3.19 runs per game. They will start Luis Garcia tonight who is 2-1 for the season with a 3.45 ERA. Houston has won the last 11 games on grass and 11 of the last 12 games as favourites.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (+116)

Cincinnati Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 6:35PM ET

The Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates will be playing the first game of their four game series in this one. Cincinnati has been on a bit of a win streak lately and even beat Pittsburgh in a series last week.

Tony Battalio

The Cincinnati Reds have had a miserable start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As a lengthy losing streak has buried them at the bottom of the National League Central division standings for the foreseeable future. However, as of late they have been picking up some wins as they have won consecutive series against the Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Penguins. Now they will look to get a second straight series win over the Pittsburgh Pirates as well.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are having a rough start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season as well. They come into this game with a record of 13-17 through their first 30 games of the season. However, they are coming off of a huge series win against the Los Angeles Dodgers which could be a huge jump in momentum for them. As for the result of this game I am going with the Cincinnati Reds in this one.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cincinnati Reds (+120)

Jeffery Thomas

The Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates will start up another series against each other on Thursday evening with the Pirates hosting. These two just played a three-game series days ago and it was the first series the Reds had won all season. That gave Cincinnati the confidence to go into their series with the Brewers and take two of three to also win that series against the first-place Breweres. Pittsburgh is also coming off an impressive series win, against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who had entered that series winners of six straught.

The Reds were able to hit their way to that series win against Milwaukee but it’s unlikely that they sustain this success, as they gave up an average of 7 runs a game to the Brewers. Their pitching staff remains one of the worst in the league and while it’s nice to them finally getting some tallies in the win column, I think it is the Pirates who will be getting this one, given their form is a lot more sustainable.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates (-142)

Marko Nadin

The Pittsburgh Pirates are third in the NL Central with a 17-13 record. They are coming off a 2-1 series win against the best team in the league, the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Pirates are ranked 23rd in the league scoring 3.88 runs per game and second to last allowing 5.56 runs per game. Pittsburgh will start JT Brubaker tonight who is 0-2 for the season with a 5.68 ERA. The Pirates have won 4 of the last 5 games as home favorites and have lost 20 of the last 28 games following a win.

The Cincinnati Reds are at the bottom of the NL Central with a 7-24 record. They have picked up their game lately winning 4 of the last 6 games including a 2-1 series win against the Pirates. Cincinnati are 11th in the league scoring 4.36 runs per game and the worst team in the league allowing 6.82 runs per game. The Reds will start Connor Overton who has a 2.53 ERA this season. Cincinnati has lost 35 of the last 51 road games and 40 of the last 58 games going in as underdogs.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates (-142)

New York Yankees @ Chicago White Sox – 8:10PM ET

The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox will be playing the first game of their four game series in this one. The Yankees have been one of the best teams in the league, while the Chicago White Sox have been a huge disappointment thus far.

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees are coming into this series as one of the best teams in Major League Baseball so far this season. They are currently in first place of the American League East division as they have a record of 22-8 through their first 30 games of the season which also makes them the best team in the American League at the moment as well. They are currently on a three game winning streak and are 8-2 over the course of their last ten games.

The Chicago White Sox were expected to be one of the best teams in the American League. They were also the clear favorites to win the American League Central division coming into the 2022 Major League Baseball season. However, they have been a little disappointing through the first month of the year as they come into this game with a record of 15-14 through their first 29 games of the year. As for the result of this game I am going with the New York Yankees to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (+122)

Jeffery Thomas

The New York Yankees travel to Chicago for a series with the White Sox that will open up on Thursday night. New York enters this four game set winners of 15 of 17 following their 5-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesay. They once again had to rally from behind for the victory, and in fact it was their league-lading 10th comeback victory on the year so far. The White Sox are finally hitting a groove as well, winners of seven of eight, and they had Wednesday off after an unexpected postponed game. Their opponents, the Cleveland Guardians, had a COVID scare throughout the team and that’s what resulted in the game being pushed back.

The Yankees enter this game as underdogs due to the fact that Luis Gil is making his season debut start against Dylan Cease of the Sox who has already out together a great start to the year. However, that is not enough to get me to take the Sox, who are clearly the worse team and they just don’t have the firepower in their lineup to keep up. Cease has a 7.71 ERA in two career outings against the Yankees, giving up 8 runs in just 9.1 innings and that won’t bode well in this contest if he continues his struggles against them. Give me the Yankees here to stay hot.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (+122)

Marko Nadin

The Chicago White Sox are second in the AL Central with a 15-14 record. They have won 7 of the last 8 games and are coming off a 4-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The White Sox are 27th in the league scoring 3.57 runs per game and are 11th allowing 3.98 runs per game. The White Sox will start Dylan Cease tonight who is 3-1 for the season with a 2.38 ERA. Chicago has won 6 of the last 7 games against a right-handed pitcher and 72 of the last 105 games as home favorite.

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 22-8 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off back-to-back wins over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Yankees are ranked second in the league with 2.77 allowed runs per game and 9th scoring 4.51 runs per game. The Yankees will start Luis Gil tonight who will make his season debut. The Yankees have won the last 5 games as underdogs, 5 of the last 6 road games and 20 of the last 27 games on grass.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox (-144)

Philadelphia Phillies @ Los Angeles Dodgers – 10:10PM ET

The Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers will be playing the first game of their four game series in this one. The Dodgers were shocked by the Pirates in their last series. While the Phillies got the series win over a struggling and young Seattle Mariners team.

Tony Battalio

It’s been a weird start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season for the Philadelphia Phillies. As they come into this series with the Los Angeles Dodgers with a record of 14-17 through their first 31 games of the year. They capped off the series win against Seattle with a win in the finale and now they will travel south to California to play the Dodgers. Zack Wheeler will be making the start for them in this one as he is 1-3 on the season with a 4.10 Earned Run Average.

The Los Angeles Dodgers got even stronger over the offseason as they took Freddie Freeman from the defending world champions that knocked them out of the postseason, the Atlanta Braves. The signing has paid off as Freeman has helped lead the Dodgers to a National League best record of 20-8 through their first 28 games of the season. As for the result of this game I am going with the Los Angeles Dodgers to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-156)

Jeffery Thomas

The Philadelphia Phillies will stay on the West Coast and start up their series with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. The Phillies are coming off a series win over the Seattle Mariners where they took two of three. It was a welcoming sign for them, as they try to climb their way back up to .500 but a series against the Dodgers could halt those plans. LA is 20-9 on the year, which is one of the best marks in the entire league and will be nice and angry coming off a series loss to the hapless Pittsburgh Pirates. It was a very unprofessional showing from the Dodgers who have aspirations of competing for the World Series so I’m expecting them to take that series loss to heart and bounce back in a way against their next opponent which happens to be the Phillies. Facing Zach Wheeler will make the series opener task a lot easier, as he is just 1-3 on the year with a ERA sitting at 4.10. Expect LA to feast on him in this home victory.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (+125)

Marko Nadin

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on top of the NL West with a 20-9 record. They are coming off a surprising 2-1 series loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Dodgers are the best offensive team in the league scoring 5.25 runs per game and they are also ranked on top of the league allowing 2.50 runs per game. The Dodgers will start Tyler Anderson tonight who is 3-0 for the season with a 2.78 ERA. The Dodgers have won 41 of the last 51 home games and 42 of the last 54 games against a team with a losing record.

The Philadelphia Phillies are third in the Nl East with a 14-17 record. They are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Seattle Mariners. The Phillies are 6th in the league scoring 4.6 runs per game and 16th in the league allowing 4.26 runs per game. Philadelphia will start Zach Wheeler who is 1-3 for the season with a 4.10 ERA. The Phillies have won the last 5 games against NL West opponents and have lost 10 of the last 13 games as road underdogs.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-156)
