Philadelphia Phillies @ Miami Marlins – 12:10PM ET

The Philadelphia Phillies played a hard-fought game against the Miami Marlins that went into extra innings on Wednesday night. Now they will be looking to grab a victory in the finale of the series on Thursday afternoon to wrap up this four-game series with their National League East division rivals. Philadelphia has looked solid throughout this series as they picked up victories in the first two games of the series before heading into Wednesday night’s game three. They will need to pick up every win that they can coming down the stretch as they look to hold onto one of the wildcard spots in the National League.

The Miami Marlins had a fantastic first half of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. However, they have been looking pretty rough since coming out of the All-Star break and if they don’t turn things around soon, their magical season will turn into a disaster. As they have a split all the way from a playoff spot in the National League to the middle of the pack as we enter the last two months of the regular season. They will be desperate to grab a victory in the finale of this series here on Thursday afternoon against the Philadelphia Phillies but unfortunately for Miami, I don’t see it happening as I have Philadelphia grabbing the victory here on Thursday afternoon on the road.

Chicago White Sox @ Texas Rangers – 2:05PM ET

The Chicago White Sox looked awful in their game against the Texas Rangers last night, and they will be looking to bounce back in the finale of this series here on Thursday afternoon. Texas jumped all over Chicago on Wednesday night as they scored seven runs within the first two innings of the game and never looked back as they obliterated the White Sox in the second game of this three-game series. It is just another laughable moment and what has been an embarrassing season for the Chicago White Sox, and there is no end in sight. They will be looking to salvage some momentum with a victory in the finale and avoid getting swept by the Texas Rangers here on Thursday. 

The Texas Rangers had an offensive explosion early on in Wednesday night’s matchup and they will be looking to recreate that performance here on Thursday afternoon as they look to complete the three games sweep of the Chicago White Sox. It has been a solid season for Texas and improved at the trade deadline as well which means the final two months of this regular season should be smooth for them as long as they remain healthy and consistent. They will have to fight off the Houston Astros down the stretch, if they want to win the American League west division, and picking up a victory here on Thursday would go a long way in doing that. That is exactly what I expect as I have Texas grabbing the win.

New York Mets @ Kansas City Royals – 2:10PM ET

The New York Mets had a lot of potential coming into the 2023 Major League Baseball season. However, that potential quickly went down the drain after they underperformed throughout the first half of the season and coming out of the All-Star break as well. They have now traded away both Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander, and they have spoken to the team and told them that their next rebuilding window has begun and they don’t expect to compete for at least another two or three seasons. Unfortunately for the Mets, they still have to finish out this season and with the talent they have on the roster they could still potentially salvage the year if they get hot at the right time. 

All the way on the opposite end of the spectrum it has been an absolutely terrible year for the Kansas City Royals this season. They are going to lose over 100 games unless something changes really quickly and they look to be directionless as their rebuild continues. They will be looking to play spoiler in the finale of this series at Kauffman Stadium on Sunday afternoon against the New York Mets. Despite playing in the worst division in all of major league baseball this season, Kansas City is well out of contention for a playoff spot and victories are few and far between for this team as they came into this series with 32 victories in their first 107 games of the season. I expect the New York Mets to make it worse for them and pick up a victory in the finale of this series on Wednesday.

Baltimore Orioles @ Toronto Blue Jays – 3:07PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles will be looking to bounce back in the finale of this four-game series after they were defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday evening. Baltimore’s lineup was pretty much ineffective throughout the game and they will have to play a lot better if they want to grab a victory in the finale of this series on Thursday afternoon and extend their lead in the American League East division. This game on Wednesday night ended up being the first loss of the series for Baltimore and they were unable to win their third consecutive game of the series and officially clinch the series as well. Now they will be looking to grab a victory here on Thursday afternoon to take three out of four games from Toronto on the road.

It was a must win game for the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night, and they stepped up to the plate in a big way. As they held a Baltimore lineup to only a single run throughout the majority of the game and put up some runs of their own on the board which is something they have been lacking over the last two games. Now they will be looking to pick up a victory in the finale of this series to force a split of this huge four game American League East divisional series. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Toronto to grab the victory in the finale of the series and gain a game on the Orioles as they look to chip away at the American League East division lead.

Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Francisco Giants – 3:45PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been solid this season, and they will be looking to finish it off down the stretch with a playoff appearance. If they want to make a playoff appearance and be taken seriously as a contender in the National League West division, they will have to win games and series like this one against the San Francisco Giants. Arizona comes into the finale of this series a handful of games above .500 and they will be looking to pick up a huge victory here on Sunday afternoon in the Bay Area as they look to climb their way back into first place in the National League West division.

The San Francisco Giants will be looking for a huge victory in the finale of the series against the Arizona Diamondbacks as they look to put some distance between themselves and Arizona coming down the stretch run of the 2023 Major League Baseball regular season. San Francisco has been flying under the radar all season long, which is perfect for them as they are a potential Darkhorse candidate to win the World Series if they can get hot when the playoffs kick off. They have been hot as of late as they came into this series 10 games above .500 on the season and they will be looking to continue grabbing victories as they try to unseat the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the division. However, I don’t see that happening as I think Arizona grabs the victory here on Thursday.
