Colorado Rockies @ Philadelphia Phillies – 1:05PM ET

The Colorado Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies will be playing the fourth and final game of their four-game weekday series. In the first two games, it was the Phillies who picked up the win. In-game number three the Phillies officially clinched the series.

Tony Battalio

Despite losing what was clearly their best player in longtime Rockies franchise cornerstone, Trevor Story, it hasn’t been too terrible of a start for Colorado. They enter this game above .500 and within range to take over first place in the National League West. However, they have had mixed success against the Phillies so far this season. Last week they took two out of three games and then this week they haven’t been at their best.  They will look to take advantage of a slumping Zach Wheeler in this one and salvage some momentum heading into the final weekend of April.

Zack Wheeler is scheduled to get the ball for the Philadelphia Phillies in this one and is having a disastrous start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As he comes into this game with a record of 0-3 and an 8.53 Earned Run Average. He hasn’t gone longer than five innings in any of his three starts this season and he is giving up an average of four runs a start. Unless he figures something out quickly this is going to be a long night for the Philadelphia Phillies, which is why I am going with the Colorado Rockies to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Colorado Rockies (+184)

Jeffery Thomas

The Philadelphia Phillies will host Game 4 of this series against the Colorado Rockies on Thursday and will be going for the series sweep. Bruce Harper had 3 hits in the 7-3 win on Wednesday, which moved Philly’s record to 9-10 on the year. They have outscored the Rockies 25-8 so far in the series and earned their first series win since taking two of three from the Oakland Athletics to open the season.

The Rockies’ best chance to get a win in this series will be in this one, as they face a struggling Zach Wheeler. He is 0-3 on the season with an 8.53 ERA this season and has given up eleven runs in his last 8 innings pitched. Colorado’s offense hasn’t been great but they should be able to have a great game here on offense and walk away from this series without the sweep.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Colorado Rockies (+184)

Marko Nadin

The Philadelphia Phillies are third in the NL East with a 9-10 record. They have won the previous three games in the series against the Rockies, 7-3 in the last one. The Phillies are 8th in the league scoring 4.70 runs per game and are ranked 11th with 1.01 home runs per game. They will start Zach Wheeler tonight who is 0-3 for the season with an 8.53 ERA. Philadelphia has won 5 of the last 6 home games and 15 of the last 20 fourth games of a series.

The Colorado Rockies are fourth in the NL West with a 10-8 record. They came into the series against the Phillies after winning a 2-1 series against the Detroit Tigers. Colorado is ranked 11th in the league scoring 4.53 runs per game and are seventh with 1.13 home runs per game. Colorado will start Austin Gomer tonight who is 1-1 for the season with a 4.20 ERA. Colorado has won 7 of the last 9 games against NL East teams but have lost 62 of the last 91 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Colorado Rockies (+184)

Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees  – 1:05PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees will be playing the finale of their three-game series. In game number one the Yankees grabbed the win. In-game number two it was the Yankees who won again to clinch the series and set up the shot for a sweep in this one.

Tony Battalio

Scheduled to take the mound for the Orioles in this one is Bruce Zimmerman. He is 1-0 on the season in three appearances and has a sub-two Earned Run Average of 1.20 in fifteen innings pitched. He is racking up the strikeouts this year as he is averaging around five a game with a total of 16. He has already made one start against the Yankees this season, going five innings, giving up no runs, and adding six strikeouts in a no-decision. Baltimore has been decent against the Yankees this year and even won a series 2-1 at home, however, this return trip to the Bronx is less than impressive.

The Yankees are putting Jameson Taillon on the mound for this series finale against the Orioles. He’s come into this one with a record of 1-1 through three appearances this season. He has an Earned Run Average that eclipses the three mark at 3.07 which is an area of much-needed improvement. In 14 total innings this year he has logged 13 strikeouts. His first start of the season against Baltimore lasted four and two-thirds innings as he gave up two runs and he would exit with a no-decision. As for the result of this one, however, I think the Yankees grab the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-230)

Jeffery Thomas

The New York Yankees won their 5th straight game with the 5-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Giancarlo Stanton blasted his 350th career home run, and did it in only 1341 games which is the seventh fastest in league history. Joey Gallo added a home run of his own, which was his second straight game going yard and third straight recording an RBI. The Bronx Bombers will now go for the three game sweep of their division rivals before heading to Kansas City for a weekend series with the Royals.

The Orioles are much more competitive than they were last season but they still have a ways to go. Meanwhile the Yankees are starting to hit their stride and looking like a team that could win the AL East and make a little noise in the postseason. I expect Bruce Zimmerman to pitch well for Baltimore to keep this close but in the end the Yankees will pull this one out at home.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-230)

Marko Nadin

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 12-6 record. They have won the last five games including the first two of the series against the Orioles. The Yankees are ranked third in the league with 1.35 home runs per game and are 16th scoring 4.07 runs per game. Defensively they are third in the league allowing 3.03 runs per game. The Yankees will start Jameson Taillon who is 1-1 for the season with a 3.07 ERA. The Yankees have won the last 5 home games.

The Baltimore Orioles are at the bottom of the AL East with a 6-12 record. They have lost the last three games. The O’s are ranked 28th in the league scoring 3.18 runs per game and 19th in the league allowing 4.22 runs per game. Baltimore will start Bruce Zimmermann tonight who is 1-1 for the season with a 1.20 ERA. The Orioles have lost 42 of the last 61 games played on grass and 50 of the last 69 games as underdogs.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-230)

Seattle Mariners @ Tampa Bay Rays – 1:10PM ET

The Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays will be playing the third and final game of their three-game series. In-game number one the Mariners got the win, in-game number two the Rays evened it up to set up a winner take all game in this game.

Tony Battalio

Starting this one for the Seattle Mariners in this one will be Chris Flexen. He comes into this one with a record of 1-2 on the season. He currently has an Earned Run Average in the high threes as it sits at 3.63 on the year. He has logged 17 and a third innings and has 11 strikeouts. The Mariners are having a good season thus far as they are a young team who is on the uprise. They are coming into this one in first place of the American League West at the moment.

The Tampa Bay Rays are one of the favorites to win the World Series and the American League pennant this season. However, they are having a slow start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have struggled against the American League so far this season as they’ve lost a series to the Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics. As for the result of this one I’m going with the Seattle Mariners to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (+120)

Jeffery Thomas

The Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays will wrap up this three game set on Thursday and both teams have split the first two games. The opener went to the Mariners by a score of 8-4 and then the game on Wednesday went the way of the home Rays 3-2. It was a wire-to-wire win for Tampa who jumped out in the first inning to a 1-0 lead thanks to an RBI single by Harold Ramirez. Drew Rasmussen of the Rays got the win and set a career-high in innings pitched with 6 shutout innings while striking out nine batters.

It’s been a back and forth series so far and I think we’ll see the momentum swing back towards the Mariners on Thursday in the series finale. Chris Flexen is coming off his best outing of the year and will look to build upon that against a Rays team deploying another bullpen game. That will test the depth of their staff and ultimately prove costly against this surprising Seattle team.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (+120)

Marko Nadin

The Tampa Bay Rays are third in the AL East with a 10-8 record. They have won 3 of the last 4 games and have split the first two games of the series against Seattle. Tampa Bay is ranked 10th in the league scoring 4.56 runs per game and are 21st allowing 4.32 runs per game. They will start Jeffrey Springs who is 1-0 for the season. The Rays have won 4 of the last 5 third games of a series, 74 of the last 100 games against a right-handed pitcher and 52 of the last 75 home games.

The Seattle Mariners are second in the AL West with a 11-7 record. After winning four straight games, they lost the last one 3-2 to the Tampa Bay Rays. Seattle is ranked fourth in the league scoring 5.03 runs per game and 9th in the league with 1.07 home runs per game. They will start Chris Flexen tonight who is 1-2 for the season with a 3.63 ERA. Seattle has won 4 of the last 5 games against teams with a winning record and 7 of the last 9 games on astroturf.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (+120)

Chicago Cubs @ Atlanta Braves – 7:20PM ET

The Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves will be playing the finale of their three-game series in this one. In-game number one the Atlanta Braves got the victory. In-game number two it was the

Tony Battalio

The Chicago Cubs are sending Drew Smyly to the mound for this one. He comes into this one with a record of 1-1 through three appearances on the season. He was an Earned Run Average in the mid twos as it sits at 2.45 on the season. He has logged 14 and two thirds innings and totaled nine strikeouts thus far. They are having a rough start to the season this year as they will come into this one under the .500 mark.

The Atlanta Braves are coming into this one experiencing a World Series hangover as they have had a rough start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. On the mound for the Braves in this one will be Kyle Wright who is having a decent start to the season. He currently has a record of 2-0 through his first three appearances. He has an Earned Run Average in the low ones as it is sitting at 1.06 at the moment. As for the result of this one, I’m taking the Atlanta Braves to pick up the win in this one.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Atlanta Braves (-188)

Jeffery Thomas

Series finale set for Thursday between the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves with both teams splitting the first two games. The opener went to the Braves by a score of 3-1 and then the Cubs took Wednesday’s matchup 6-3 in 10 innings. Willson Contreras hit the go-ahead double in the top of the 10th and then Patrick Wisdom homered to drive in two more insurance runs. The Cubs now sit at 8-10 and the Braves are slightly worse at 8-11 so both teams will need to get things going to turn their season around.

The Braves will be happy to hand the ball to starter Kyle Wright coming off this loss because he has been one of their best pitchers. He is 2-0 on the year with a 1.06 ERA while Drew Smyly hasn’t been too shabby himself with an ERA sitting at 2.45. Wright should be able to shut down this Cubs lineup and the Braves haven’t been able to score more than 3 all series so I’m liking the under for this series finale on Thursday.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Under 8.5 (-108)

Marko Nadin

The Atlanta Braves are fourth in the AL East with a 8-11 record. They have lost 3 of the last 4 games and are coming off a 6-3 tenth inning loss to the Chicago Cubs. The defending champions are 18th in the league with 4.04 scored runs per game and are ranked fourth with 1.29 home runs per game. The Braves will start Kyle Wright who is 2-0 for the season with a 1.06 ERA. Atlanta has won 5 of the last 6 games as a home favorite and 17 of the last 25 home games in general.

The Chicago Cubs are third in NL Central with a 8-11 record. They have lost 2 of the last 2 games. The Cubs are second in the league scoring 5.24 runs per game and lead the league with .266 AVG and .758 OPS. The Cubs will start Drew Smyly who is 1-1 for the season with a 2.45 ERA. Chicago has won 4 of the last 5 road games but have lost 44 of the last 65 games as underdog and 20 of the last 29 third games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Atlanta Braves (-188)

Arizona Diamondbacks @ St.Louis Cardinals – 7:45PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks and St.Louis Cardinals will be playing the first game of a four game weekend series. The Diamondbacks are fresh off of a home stand that featured the Mets and Dodgers. While the Cardinals are coming off a disaster of a series against the Mets.

Tony Battalio

Starting on the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks in this one will be Humberto Castellanos. He is coming into this start after making 4 prior appearances this season, as he has a record of 1-0 on the season. He has a 3.00 Earned Run Average in 12 innings pitched to go along with eight strikeouts. It’s been a rough start to the season for the Arizona Diamondbacks as they will come into this one below .500 on the season. They will be looking to bounce back in this one against the St.Louis Cardinals.

Taking the mound for the St.Louis Cardinals will be Dakota Hudson. He has made three prior appearances on the season and comes into this game with a record of 1-1. He currently has an Earned Run Average in the high threes as it currently sits at 3.95 heading into this one. He has logged 13 and two-thirds innings and has racked up ten strikeouts. The Cardinals are having a decent start to the year but they did have some problems with the New York Mets this week. However, as for the result of this one, I’m going with the Cardinals to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-180)

Jeffery Thomas

The Arizona Diamondbacks will travel to St.Louis to start up a series with the Cardinals on Thursday. Both teams played on Wednesday afternoon and got home wins. The Cardinals took down the Mets 10-5 to avoid the sweep and move their record to 10-7.

Arizona got their second straight win over the Dodgers by a score of 3-1 and shocked their division rivals by taking two of three and winning the series. It wasn’t enough to get them out of last place though, as they are still just 8-11 on the year.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-180)

Marko Nadin

The St.Louis Cardinals are second in the NL Central with a 10-7 record. They are coming off a 10-5 win over the New York Mets putting an end to a three-game losing streak. The Cardinals are 13th in the league scoring 4.35 runs per game and fifth in the league allowing only 3.26 runs per game. They are also third in the league allowing 0.60 home runs per game. The Cardinals will start Dakpta Hudson tonight who is 1-1 for the season with a 3.95 ERA. The Cardinals have won 5 of the last 6 games against NL West opponents.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are at the bottom of the NL West with a 8-11 record. They are coming off a 2-1 series win against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Diamondbacks are 30th in the league scoring 3.04 runs per game and are ranked 16th allowing 4.16. They will start Humberto Castellanos tonight who is 1-0 for the season with a 3.00 ERA. Arizona has won 6 of the last 7 games played on Thursday.

Marko’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-180)
