Boston Red Sox @ Baltimore Orioles – 1:05PM ET

The Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles are playing the finale of their three game weekend series in this one. Boston picked up the win in game number one, in game number two it was the Orioles who got the win. Now both teams will be looking to grab a series win in the finale.

Tony Battalio

The Boston Red Sox are expected to be one of the top favorites in the American League this season. However, they come into this game with a record of 9-13 through their first 22 games of the season. Their slow start to the season can be fixed as it is only May, and they have plenty of time to turn it around. Starting in this game for the Red Sox will be Nick Pivetta, he is coming into this one with an 0-3 record on the year and a very high Earned Run Average of 8.27. He has logged 16 and a third innings and 16 strikeouts in four appearances.

The Baltimore Orioles are coming into this game looking to get a huge series win over the Boston Red Sox in this one. They are coming into this one with a record of 7-14 through their first 21 games of the season. The Orioles rebuild seemingly will be delayed for another year and they can’t seem to get it together regardless of who is in the lineup. Starting for the Orioles in this one will be Jordan Lyles who is 1-2 on the season with an Earned Run Average of 5.40. He has logged 20 innings and 15 strikeouts. As for the result of this game however, I’m going with the Red Sox to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-158)

Jeffery Thomas

The Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles will wrap up their weekend series on Sunday. Each team has won a game in the first two, after the Orioles got a walk-off 2-1 in the 10th inning on Saturday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Os and sent Boston’s record down to 9-12 on the year.

These two teams are at the bottom of the AL East currently but the Red Sox have much higher hopes for their season and I’m sure the loss Saturday will serve as an eye opener to them. Them scoring just 1 run won’t happen often and they are due for a big offensive day at the plate. What better day to get that then when you’re facing Jordan Lyles who historically gives up a lot of homeruns. Look for Boston to send a few into the stands on Sunday and prove that they are the much better team of these two.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-158)

Marko Nadin

The Baltimore Orioles are at the bottom of the AL East with a 7-14 record and they will probably spend the season at that position. The Orioles snapped a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 tenth inning win against the Red Sox last night. The Orioles are at the bottom of the league being stuck out 10.41 times per game and they are second to last with 3.14 scored runs per game. Baltimore will start Jordan Lyles, who is 1-2 for the season with a 5.40 ERA. Baltimore has lost 37 of the last 55 home games and 5 of the last 7 third games of a series.

The Boston Red Sox have not started the season well as they are fourth in the AL East with a 9-13 record. They have lost 6 of the last 8 games and are tied at 1-1 in the series against the Orioles. The Red Sox are scoring only 3.62 runs per game which ranks them 24th in the league while they are much better defensively as they are ranked ninth with 3.82 runs per game. Boston will start Nick Pivetta today who is 0-3 for the season with a 8.57 ERA. The Red Sox have won 6 of the last 7 games as road favorites

Marko’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-158)

Minnesota Twins @ Tampa Bay Rays – 1:10PM ET

The Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays are playing the finale of their three game weekend series in this one. Tampa Bay picked up the win in game number one, in game number two it was the Twins who got the win.

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins will come in this finale coming off of a win in the middle game on Saturday. Now they will have a chance to pick up a huge series win against one of the best teams in the American League and all of Major League Baseball. Minnesota comes into this one on top of the American League Central division after a huge winning streak last week. Now they will be looking to open up the month of May with a huge series win as they look to continue to stay on the top of the division.

The Tampa Bay Rays were expected to be one of the best teams in Major League Baseball this season. They are coming into this game with a record of 12-9 through their first 21 games of the season. They are currently in the middle of the pack of the American League East division at the moment. Taking the mound for the Rays in this one will be Josh Fleming who is coming into this one with a record of 2-2 on the season. As for the result of this game I am taking the Twins to get the win in this one.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (+130)

Jeffery Thomas

The Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays will play the final game of their three-game set on Sunday, with both teams splitting the first two contests. It was the Twins that got the win on Saturday to close out the month of April in winning fashion. Minnesota won eight of their last nine games in the month and that run helped propel them to the top spot in the AL Central. The Rays have the same 12-9 record but are in third place of the much more competitive AL East.

This is going to be a tough matchup for the Twins to keep their winning ways going as the Rays will turn to Josh Fleming to pitch in this one. He generated ground balls at nearly a 60% clip in his career and that will be able to neutralize the power of this Twins lineup. Josh Winder of Minnesota hasn’t been bad this year, but not spectacular either and I like how the Rays’ lineup profiles against him in this series finale. Give me the home team to get the job done and win the series.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-154)

Marko Nadin

The Tampa Bay Rays are third in the AL East with a 12-9 record. After winning three straight games, the Rays lost 9-1 to the Twins last night. Tampa Bay is 13th in the league scoring 4.26 runs per game and are fifth allowing only .211 AVG. The Rays will start John Fleeming who is 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA for the season. Tampa Bay has won the last 4 of the third games of a series, 5 of the last 6 games against a team with a winning record and 55 of the last 78 home games.

The Minnesota Twins are on top of AL Central with a 12-9 record. They have won 8 of the last 9 games losing only to the Rays in the opening game of the series in that span. The Twins are 13th in the league with 4.26 runs per game and 17th allowing 4.11 runs per game. Minnesota will start Josh WInder today who is at a 3.48 WRS for the season. The Twins have won 5 of the last 6 third games of a series but have lost 5 of the last 7 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (+130)

Houston Astros @ Toronto Blue Jays – 1:37PM ET

The Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays  are playing the finale of their three game weekend series in this one. Houston picked up the win in game number one, in game number two it was the Blue Jays who got the win.

Tony Battalio

The Houston Astros had their four game winning streak snapped on Saturday when they were defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays. Now they will come into this one looking to win the series and secure a split of the six game season series. As it currently sits in favor of the Blue Jays at three games to two. I’ve said it before but I really do think that these six games between the Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros will be a preview of the 2022 American League Championship Series.

The Toronto Blue Jays are coming into this game with a record of 14-8 through their first 22 games of the season. They will be looking to clinch this series and the season series with the Houston Astros with a huge victory in the finale on Sunday. They will send Kevin Gausman to the mound, as he comes into this one with a 1-1 record of the year. He currently has a 2.19 Earned Run Average at the moment. As for the result of this one I’m taking the Toronto Blue Jays to get the series clinching win in this one.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-158)

Jeffery Thomas

The Houston Astros entered Saturday’s contest with the Toronto Blue Jays on a season-long four-game winning streak, but had it snapped with a 2-1 loss. It was none other than former Astro George Springer who hit two solo homers to help get the win over his former ball club. Springer usually turns it up a notch against my Houston, and has 3 of his 6 home runs this year against them. This win also maintained the Jays’ streak of not losing back-to-back contests which dates back to September of 2021, last season.

Framber Valdez has yet to have a true standout performance this season and Sunday will not be the time for that to occur either. He is a left-handed pitcher facing this Blue Jays lineup that is littered with some of the most dangerous right-handed power in the league. I see them teeing off on him and going deep a few times en route to winning the series finale.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-158)

Marko Nadin

The Toronto Blue Jays are second in the AL East with a 14-8 record. They have won 4 of the last 6 games including a 2-1 win last night against the Astros. The Blue Jays are second in the league with 1.46 home runs per game but are 17th scoring 4.08 runs per game. Toronto will start Kevin Gausman who is 1-1 for the season with a 2.19 ERA. The Blue Jays have won 7 of the last 8 games against a left-handed pitcher and 13 of the last 18 third games of a series.

The Houston Astros are second in the AL West with a 11-10 record. After winning four consecutive games, the Astros lost last night to the Blue Jays. They are fifth in the league with 1.21 home runs per game but that has not brought them much of a scoring since they are ranked 21st in the league with 3.88 runs per game. The Astros will start Framber Valdez who is 1-1 for the season with a 3.15 ERA. Houston has won 4 of the last 5 road games and 5 of the last 7 games against a AL East opponent.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (+134)

Los Angeles Angels @ Chicago White Sox – 2:10PM ET

The Los Angeles Angels and Chicago White Sox are playing the finale of their three game weekend series in this one. Los Angeles picked up the win in game number one, in game number two it was the White Sox who got the win.

Tony Battalio

Following a week worth of wins the Los Angeles Angels have finally lost a baseball game. Now they will be looking to rebound and take the finale of this three game series to clinch the series as well. They come into this game with one of the best records in the American League as they currently sit at 14-8 through their first 22 games of the season. With one month of the season now complete it seems like the Angels have finally found a way to get all their talent to gel and they are starting to become a winner.

The Chicago White Sox were expected to run away with the American League Central division this season. However, they have gotten the year off to a horrible start. As they come into this game with a record of 8-12 through their first 20 games of the season. In this one they will be looking to grab a much needed series victory over a tough Los Angeles Angels team. Taking the mound for them in this one will be Dallas Keuchel who is 1-2 with a 9.00 Earned Run Average at the moment. As for the result of this game I am going with the Los Angeles Angels to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Amgels (-112)

Jeffery Thomas

All good things must come to an end and the Los Angeles Angels had their 6-game winning streak snapped on Saturday at the hands of the Chicago White Sox. Tim Anderson and Luis Robert both homered to help lead the Sox to just their 8th win on the season and to snap a two-game losing streak. Vince Velasquez also snapped a personal losing streak of his own, and recorded his first win in 13 starts. He had been 0-9 with a 9.57 ERA in his previous 12 starts but he got into a groove early and was able to finally put together a quality start.

The Angels are giving the start to Michael Lorenzen who is 2-1 on the season with a 2.93 ERA. He will face Dallas Keuchel of the White Sox who is yet another struggling pitcher for them this season. He has a 9.00 ERA with a 1-2 record and I don’t think they will get lucky again and catch another hot start from a bad pitcher. The Angels will be able to get another winning streak started in this one, capitalizing against the struggling leftie Keuchel.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels (-112)

Marko Nadin

The Chicago White Sox are third in the Al Central with a 12-8 record. The have lost 10 of the last 12 games but are coming off a 4-0 win over the Angels last night. They White Sox are 27 th in the league scoring 3.27 runs per game and are 20th allowing 4.45 runs per game. They will start Dallas Kuechel who is 1-2 for the season with a 9.00 ERA. Chicago has won 4 of the last five games played on Sunday but have lost 9 of the last 10 games against a right-handed starting pitcher.

The Los Angeles Angels are on top of AL West with a 14-8 record. Their loss to the WHite Sox last night put an end to the Angels’ six-game winning streak. They are fifth in the league with 4.80 scored runs per game and are ranked fourth with 1.25 home runs per game. The Angels will start Michael Lorenzen who is 2-1 for the season with a 2.93 ERA. The Angels have won the last 7 games against a left-handed starting pitcher and 6 of the last 8 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels (-112)

Washington Nationals @ San Francisco Giants – 4:05PM ET

The Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants are playing the finale of their three game weekend series in this one. Washington picked up the win in game number one, in game number two it was the Giants who got the win.

Tony Battalio

The Washington Nationals have a huge opportunity to grab a series win over one of the best teams in Major League Baseball in this one. They come into this game needing a win on Sunday in the finale to give themselves some momentum and hopefully jump start their season. As they come into this game with a record of 7-16 through their first 23 games of the season. Starting for them in this one will be Sonny Gray who is 2-2 on the season with an Earned Run Average of 4.05.

The San Francisco Giants have seemingly picked up right where they left off at the end of the last regular season. As they come into this game with one of the top records in Major League Baseball as they sit here with a 14-7 record through their first 21 games. Now they will be looking to grab another series win in this finale with the Washington Nationals as the series currently sits at one game a piece. As for the result of this one I am going with the San Francisco Giants to pick up the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-196)

Jeffery Thomas

The San Francisco Giants had several players out on Saturday but they were still able to band together and beat the Washington Nationals 9-3. This was despite starter Logan Webb giving up a career-high 11 hits. It was the 9th loss in their last 10 games for Washington, who currently has the second-worst record in the National League only ahead of the Cincinnati Reds.

Alex Cobb will take the mound for the Giants on Sunday and while he hasn’t been too consistent this year, he shouldn’t have any problems against the Nats. San Francisco is by far the better team and backing Washington is something I’m trying to avoid at all costs, especially during this extended run of losing. Give me the Giants to close out the with a nice win at home.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-196)

Marko Nadin

The San Francisco Giants are second in the NL West with a 14-7 record. They defeated the Nationals 9-3 last night putting an end to a two-game losing streak. The Giants are second in the league with 4.97 scored runs per game and fourth allowing 3.06 runs per game. The Giants will start Alex Cobb who is 2-1 for the season with a 4.08 ERA. San Francisco has won 42 of the last 55 games as favorites, 6 of the last 8 third games of a series and 12 of the last 16 against NL East teams.

The Washington Nationals are at the bottom of the NL East with a 7-16 record. They were on an eight-game losing streak before winning the opening game of the series against San Francisco. The Nationals are 23rd in the league scoring 3.74 runs per game and 28th allowing 5.48 runs per game. The Nationals will start Josiah Gray who is 2-2 for the season with a 4.05 ERA. Washington has lost 35 of the last 52 road games and 20 of the last 28 against NL West opponents.

Marko’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-196)
