Houston Astros @ New York Yankees – 1:35PM ET

The Houston Astros and New York Yankees will be playing the fourth and final game of their four game series in this one. In game number one it was the New York Yankees who got the win. In game two and three the Astros bounced back with a couple of victories.

Tony Battalio

The Houston Astros became the first team on the season to stop a dominant New York Yankees offense on Saturday. Now they will be looking to do it again in Sunday’s finale and picked up a three games to one series victory as well. The two victories over the weekend brings the Astros record to 45-26 through their first 71 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They will have Jose Urquidy on the mound for this one and he is 6-3 on the year and has a 4.68 Earned Run Average.

The New York Yankees will now be looking to bounce back after losing on Friday and being no-hit on Saturday. If they can get a win on Sunday in this four game series finale they will secure a series split and avoid losing their first series since late May. Despite the losses the Yankees still have the best record in Major League Baseball as they come into this game sitting at 52-20 through their first 72 games of the season. As for the result of this one, I am going with Nestor Cortes and the Yankees to get the victory,

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-162)

Jeffery Thomas

The Houston Astros put together a combined no-hitter on Saturday to take down the almighty New York Yankees for the second straight game. They will go for the third straight win in the finale on Sunday and it would be a huge confidence boost for them to dominate the best team in the league and take three of the four games.

I like their chances to do just that as the Yankees have cooled down a bit and will be sending out Nestor Cortes. on the mound. He has given up 4 earned runs in two of his last three outings and now has to deal with this red-hot Astros team. I like the value with Houston in this one to finish off their dominant stretch of baseball.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (+136)

Marko Nadin

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 52-20 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games including the last two against the Houston Astros. The Yankees are third in the league scoring 5.01 runs per game and are on top of the league allowing 3.05 runs per game. The Yankees will start Nestor Cortes tonight who is 6-3 for the season with a 2.31 ERA. They have won 6 of the last 7 games after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game and 53 of the last 74 home games.

The Houston Astros are on top of the AL West with a 45-26 record. They have won 5 of the last 6 games and are coming off a no-hitter 3-0 win against the Yankees. The Astros are 17th scoring 4.39 runs per game and are ranked third in the league allowing 3.46 runs per game. Houston will start Jose Urquidi tonight who is 6-3 for the season with a 4.68 ERA. The Astros have won the last 7 games played on Sunday and 9 of the last 10 games against teams with a winning record.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-162)

Boston Red Sox @ Cleveland Guardians – 1:40PM ET

The Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Guardians will be playing the third and final game of their three game weekend series in this one. The Boston Red Sox have won the first two games of this series. Now they will be looking to complete the sweep here on Sunday.

Tony Battalio

The Boston Red Sox are the first team in the last five weeks to defeat the Cleveland Guardians in a series. Now they will be looking to wrap up the series with a sweep on Sunday. They have pulled up some big wins, that have been determined by great pitching, timely hitting and some questionable umpiring decisions as well. The Red Sox now come into this game with a record of 41-31 through their first 72 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The Cleveland Guardians will be looking to bounce back and salvage a little bit of momentum before staying home this week to play Minnesota. They have gained a lot of ground over the last five weeks of the season and they will be looking to stay in that position before welcoming in Minnesota for five huge games on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As for the result of this game, that is exactly what I expect to happen. As I have the Guardians bouncing back with a much needed win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (-104)

Jeffery Thomas

The Boston Red Sox extended their winning streak out to 6 games with their 4-2 win on the road against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday. Now Sunday’s matinee game will be a chance for them to bring out the brooms on a second consecutive AL Central opponent as they are coming off a sweep of the Detroit Tigers before this series.

This series has been a disappointment for the Guardians who had just taken sole possession of the top spot in the division but now have fallen back behind the Minnesota Twins by a game. Their hopes of avoiding a sweep rest of the arm of Aaron Civale who hasn’t been the most reliable guy for them this season. He is just 2-3 with a 7.25 ERA and I don’t give him much chance of slowing down this Boston offense on Sunday. Give me the Sox to finish off the sweep.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-112)

Marko Nadin

The Cleveland Guardians are second in the AL Central with a 36-31 record. They have lost the last three games including the first two of the series against the Red Sox. Cleveland is 11th in the league, scoring 4.61 runs per game, and is ranked 11th, allowing 4.14 runs per game. The Guardians will start Aaron Civale tonight who is 2-3 for the season with a 7.25 ERA. Cleveland has won 8 of the last 11 home games and 5 of the last 7 third games of a series.

The Boston Red Sox are second in the AL East with a 41-31 record. They have won the last 6 games and came into the series against the Guardians after a 3-0 series win over the Detroit Tigers. The Red Sox are 7th in the league scoring 4.79 runs per game and are ranked 6th in the league allowing 3.95 runs per game. Boston will start Rich Hill tonight who is 3-4 for the season with a 4.35 ERA. The Red Sox have won the last 5 games played on Sunday and 5 of the last 6 third games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (-104)

Colorado Rockies @ Minnesota Twins – 2:10PM ET

The Colorado Rockies and Minnesota Twins will be playing the third and final game of their three game weekend series in this one. Colorado got the win on Friday and Minnesota bounced back with a win on Saturday. That means the winner of Sunday’s finale will take the series as well.

Tony Battalio

The Colorado Rockies will be looking to pick up a huge win over the American League Central division leading Minnesota Twins on Sunday. They come into this game after already winning game one on Friday but were unable to secure the series victory on Saturday. They currently have a record of 31-41 on the season as they are ten games below the .500 mark through their first 72 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Feltner takes the mound for them in this one with a record of 1-2 and a 5.46 Earned Run Average.

The Minnesota Twins will be looking to secure the series victory in this one and either hold or extend their slim one game lead over the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Central division. They come into this game with a record of 40-33 through their first 73 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Ryan takes the mound for them in this one with a 5-3 record and a 3.00 Earned Run Average so far this season. As for the result of this game, I am going with the Minnesota Twins to get the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-205)

Jeffery Thomas

The road trip for the Colorado Rockies will end on Sunday in Minnesota in this series finale against the Twins. The Rockies couldn’t back up their win in the opener with another win and dropped Saturday’s contest 6-0, only recording one hit as a team. Pitching has been the difference so far in this series as the winning team of each of the first two games has won in a shutout fashion.

I’m expecting pitching to be the determining factor once again and in that case, the Twins will have a significant advantage. Twins ace Joe Ryan is getting the start on Sunday against the Rockies’ Ryan Feltner. In road games started by Feltmer this season, Colorado is winless in four tries. Don’t expect that to change here and I’m taking the Twins to win this one comfortably just like Saturday.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins -1.5 (+105)

Marko Nadin

The Minnesota Twins are on top of the AL Central with a 40-33 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 6-0 win over the Rockies yesterday. The Twins are 14th in the league scoring 4.49 runs per game and are ranked 8th allowing 4.08 runs per game. Minnesota will start Joe Ryan tonight who is 5-3 for the season with a 3.00 ERA. The Twins have won 12 of the last 17 home games against teams with a losing record and have won 7 of the last 9 games played on Sunday.

The Colorado Rockies are at the bottom of the NL West with a 31-41 record. They have lost 4 of the last 5 games and are currently tied at 1-1 in the series against the Twins. Colorado is 13th in the league,e scoring 4.56 runs per game,e and is ranked 28t, allowing 5.50 runs per game. The Rockies will start Ryan Feltner tonight who is 1-2 for the season with a 5.46 ERA. Colorado has won 6 of the last 8 interleague road games and have lost 20 of the last 28 road games overall.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-205)

Toronto Blue Jays @ Milwaukee Brewers – 2:10PM ET

The Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers will be playing the third and final game of their three game weekend series in this one. Toronto picked up the win in game one and Milwaukee got the win in game two. That means that Sunday’s finale will be winner take all.

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Blue Jays come into this game looking to grab a series victory over a top team in the National League. They currently have a record of 40-31 through their first 71 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Jose Berrios takes the mound for them in this one sporting a record of 5-3 and a 5.11 Earned Run Average heading into this start. Toronto has won four out of their last ten games of the year and is currently on a one game losing streak at the moment.

The Milwaukee Brewers are coming into this game with a record of 41-33 through their first 74 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are still sitting atop the National League Central division at the moment, as they are tied with the St.Louis Cardinals. They have won six out of their ten games on the year and they currently have a one game winning streak as well. As for the result of this game, I am going with the Toronto Blue Jays to win the game and the series.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-146)

Jeffery Thomas

The Milwaukee Brewers were able to avenge their loss on Friday night by bouncing back and winning 5-4 at home on Saturday. Reigning NL Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes gave the Brew. a string performance and pitched into the 8th inning and extended his winning streak out to 3 games. It was his first career start against the Toronto Blue Jays and the early 5-0 lead Milwaukee built helped him be a bit looser out there.

The pitching that the Brewers are expected to get on Sunday is not nearly as reliable with Chi Chi Gonzalez getting his second start of the season. He has to contend with this red-hot Blue Jays offense that should put a good number of runs on the board and I don’t think Milwaukee has the offense to keep up. I’m taking the Blue Jays in this game to get the win and to secure the series win.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-146)

Marko Nadin

The Milwaukee Brewers are on top of the NL Central with a 41-33 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays. The Brewers are 16th in the league scoring 4.43 runs per game and are ranked 14th in the league allowing 4.28 runs per game. Chi Chi Gonzalez will be the starting pitcher for the Brewers tonight who is 0-1 for this season with a 7.36 ERA. Milwaukee has won 23 of the last 33 games played on Sunday and has lost 8 of the last 11 games against teams with a winning record.

The Toronto Blue Jays are third in the AL East with a 40-31 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are currently tied at 1-1 in the series against the Brewers. The Blue Jays are 6th in the league scoring 4.79 runs per game and are ranked 18th with 4.36 allowed runs per game. Toronto will start Jose Berrios tonight who is 5-3 for the season with a 5.11 ERA. The Blue Jays have 6 of the last 7 road games against teams with a winning record and the last 4 third games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-146)

Chicago Cubs @ St.Louis Cardinals – 2:15PM ET

The St.Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs will be playing the third and final game of their three game series in this one. Chicago got the win on Friday and St.Louis bounced back with a win on Saturday. That means the winner of Sunday’s finale will take the series as well.

Tony Battalio

The Chicago Cubs are in the midst of a rough season but right now they have a shot at getting a series win over one of the top teams in the National League Central division. As they won the opener on Friday and now have a chance to win the series in Sunday’s finale. The Cubs come into this game with a record of 27-45 through their first 72 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They will send Mills to the mound for this one, he is 0-1 with an 8.59 Earned Run Average so far this season.

The St.Louis Cardinals are having a solid season at the moment. They come into this game with a record of 41-33 through their first 74 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently tied for first place in the National League Central division with the Milwaukee Brewers. Jack Flaherty takes the mound for them in this one with a record of 0-0 and a 7.50 Earned Run Average on the year. As for the result of this game, I am going with the St.Louis Cardinals to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-166)

Jeffery Thomas

The St.Louis Cardinals will take the field on Sunday with their eyes on deepening their divisional rival Chicago Cubs in this weekend’s set. Saturday’s game was a 5-3 victory for the Cards who have a lot of pressure on them to keep pace with the Milwaukee Brewers in the division race. The two teams will enter Sunday with identical 41-33  records so there’s some added pressure on both sides.

St.Louis has been one of the most rock solid teams all season and it’s rare you catch them having too many stinker performances so they’re one of the teams I trust most. The Cubs on the other hand, typically struggle against the better teams and Sunday should not be any different. Give me the Cards to complete the sweep at home.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-166)

Marko Nadin

The St.Louis Cardinals are second in the NL Central with a 41-33 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 5-3 win over the Chicago Cubs. The Cardinals are 5th in the league scoring 4.83 runs per game and are ranked 7th in the league allowing 3.99 runs per game. They will start Jack Flaherty tonight who has a 7.50 ERA this season. The Cardinals have won 8 of the last 11 home games and 7 of the last 10 games against right-handed starters.

The Chicago Cubs are fourth in the NL Central with a 27-45 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are currently tied at 1-1 in the series against the Cardinals. The Cubs are 20th in the league scoring 4.27 runs per game and are ranked 27th allowing 5.37 runs per game. The Cubs will start Alec Mills tonight who is 0-1 for the season with an 8.59 ERA. The Cubs have lost 55 of the last 79 games against teams with a winning record and 8 of the last 10 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-166)
