St.Louis Cardinals @ Washington Nationals – 1:35PM ET

The St.Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals will be playing the third and final game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one the Cardinals picked up the victory. In game number two the Nationals ended up grabbing the win. Now in game three they will be looking to clinch the series with a victory.

Tony Battalio

The St.Louis Cardinals will be looking to bounce back after losing game two of this series to the Washington Nationals. They are still in a solid spot as they come into this game with a record of 53-48 through their first 101 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in second place of the National League Central division as they come into this series finale a couple games out of first place behind the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Washington Nationals got a huge win on Saturday and now they have a chance to win this three game series on Sunday during the finale. It’s been a terrible season for the Washington Nationals as they are coming into this series finale with a record of 35-67 through their first 102 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. The Nationals have lost five out of their last ten on the season but come into this finale on a one game winning streak.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

St.Louis Cardinals (-115)

If Josh Bell is getting traded ahead of next week’s trade deadline then he is putting on a great audition for his future team and continued to do so on Saturday. Bell hit a three-run home run to help his Washington Nationals rally from behind to beat the St.Louis Cardinals and even the series up ahead of the finale on Sunday. The loss put the Cards out of a playoff spot for the time being so I am sure we will see them on their top game in this next contest.

A 23-year-old rookie pitcher Andre Pallante (3-4 3.53 ERA) will be tasked with getting St.Louis back in the win column and will be opposed by Josiah Gray (7-6 4.45 ERA). This is a game the Cardinals can not be losing if they want to be in the postseason and I think they get things back on track after blowing their win on Saturday. They are the much better team and should not have any issues this time around.

St.Louis Cardinals (-115)

The Washington Nationals are at the bottom of the NL East with a 35-67 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 7-6 win over the Cardinals. The Nationals are 26th in the league scoring 3.95 runs per game and are 30th in the league allowing 5.58 runs per game. Washington will start Josiah Gray tonight who is 7-6 for the season with a 4.45 ERA. The Nationals have won 8 of the last 11 games against NL Central teams and have lost 37 of the last 53 games when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The St. Louis Cardinals are second in the NL Central with a 53-48 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are currently tied at 1-1 in the series against the Nationals. The Cardinals are 7th in the league scoring 4.70 runs per game and are ranked 8th in the league allowing 4.08 runs per game. They will start Andre Pallante tonight who is 3-4 for the season with a 3.53 ERA this season. The Cardinals have lost 6 of the last 8 games after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game and 7 of the last 10 games against right-handed pitchers.

Marko’s MLB Pick:

St.Louis Cardinals (-115)

Philadelphia Phillies @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 1:35PM ET

The Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates will be playing the fourth and final game of their four game series in this one. In game number one it was the Phillies who got the win. In game number two the Phillies ended up grabbing another win. In game three the Phillies won again and will now be going for the sweep on Sunday.

Tony Battalio

The Philadelphia Phillies are rolling coming into the finale of this four game weekend series with their cross state rivals the Pittsburgh Pirates. They have won all three games to start off the series and now they will be looking for a sweep in game four. With their win on Saturday evening they extended their winning streak to four games. They are coming into this game with a record of 54-47 through their first 101 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Philadelphia has won six out of their last 10 games on the year and find themselves 9 1/2 games out of first and the National League East division.

The rough season for the Pittsburgh Pirates just seems to continue as they have now lost the first three games of this series and will try to avoid getting swept in Sunday’s finale. The Pirates are 21 games under the .500 mark as they have only 140 of their 101 games they have played this season. This franchise has the most losing seasons in baseball over the last 20 years and it looks like they’re going to add another one to the list this season if something doesn’t change quickly. They have lost eight out of their last 10 games on the year and I have them losing the finale of the series as well.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

Philadelphia Phillies (-185)

The Philadelphia Phillies moved their winning streak up to 4 games with their 2-1 extra innings win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday. This win also puts them at a season-high 7 games over .500 (54-47) which has them occupying the final wild card spot in the National League. It’s been the exact opposite for the Pirates who have now lost six in a row and every one of them have been by two runs or less.

The series between the two Pennsylvania teams wraps up on Sunday at PNC Park as a pair of pitchers with 8 losses square off. Aaron Nola (6-8 3.32 ERA) will face JT Brubaker (2-8 3.96 ERA) who has been pretty good for Pittsburgh in the month of July. He has a 2.50 ERA in his three starts this month and his recent form paired with the fact that Pittsburgh has not been losing these games by a lot has me backing them in the finale. I think we get another close game so give me the home team to cover the run line.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Pittsburgh Pirates +1.5 (-120)

The Pittsburgh Pirates are fourth in the NL Central with a 40-61 record. They have lost the last 6 games including the first three of the series against the Phillies. The Pirates are 26th in the league scoring 5.15 runs per game and 28th allowing 3.66 runs per game. They will start JT Brubaker tonight who is 2-8 for the season with a 3.96 ERA. The Pirates have lost 62 of the last 90 games against teams with a winning record and the last 4 games when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game.

The Philadelphia Phillies are third in the NL East with a 54-47 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are currently leading 3-0 in the series against the Pirates. The Phillies are 6th in the league scoring 4.68 runs per game and 10th in the league allowing 4.16 runs per game. Aaron Nola will be the Phillies’ starter tonight who is 6-8 for the season with a 3.32 ERA. Philadelphia has won the last 5 games when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game and 5 of the last 7 following a win.

Marko’s MLB Pick:

Pittsburgh Pirates (+150)

Kansas City Royals @ New York Yankees – 1:35PM ET

The Kansas City Royals and New York Yankees will be playing the fourth and final game of their four game weekend series in this one. The Yankees have already picked up wins in both game one and game two. In game three the Yankees won again to clinch the series and set up the sweep.

Tony Battalio

While the Kansas City Royals have been able to hold the Yankees down for a while they can’t seem to finish them off. Kansas City has now lost the first three games of the series and heading into the finale they will be desperate for a victory to avoid a four-game sweep. They enter Sunday’s game on a five game losing streak as they have lost seven out of their last 10 on the year. They’re the second worst team in all of Major League Baseball and it looks like they are heading for a rebuild for the foreseeable future. As they come into this game with a record of 39-62.

The New York Yankees are the hottest team in all of Major League Baseball and Aaron Judge is the best player in all of Major League Baseball this season. Judge is on pace to hit for homerun numbers that we haven’t seen in nearly 2 decades. As he went deep again today to help lead the Yankees to a huge blowout victory over Kansas City. The Yankees come into this game with a record of 69-33 through their first 102 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. I have them completing the sweep here on Sunday afternoon.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

New York Yankees (-275)

The New York Yankees picked up a dominant 8-2 win over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday and will now go for the four-game sweep in the finale on Sunday. Aaron Judge became the second fastest player in MLB history to 200 home runs in the win, accomplishing the feat in just 671 games. The only player to do it in fewer games was Ryan Howard of the Phillies who accomplished it in 658.

This is a head-to-head matchup that has been going very well for the Yankees as they have now won seven straight against Kansas City and 10 of the last 11. There’s no reason to believe things will turn around on Sunday for this Royals team that will be starting Zack Greinke who is winless on the road (0-5) with a 7.38 ERA. I’m rolling with the Yankees in blowout fashion.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

New York Yankees -2.5 (+110)

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 69-33 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are currently leading 3-0 in the series against the Royals. The Yankees are on top of the league scoring 5.35 runs per game and are also on top of the league allowing 3.30 runs per game. The Yankees will start Jordan Montgomery tonight who is 3-3 for the season with a 3.50 ERA. They have won 41 of the last 53 home games and 50 of the last 74 games when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.

The Kansas City Royals are fourth in the AL Central with a 39-62 record. They have lost the last 5 games, failing to score in 3 of them. Kansas City is ranked 27th in the league scoring only 3.92 runs per game and 27th allowing 5.19 runs per game. The Royals will start Zack Greinke tonight who is 3-6 for the season with a 4.35 ERA. Kansas City has lost 38 of the last 55 games against teams with a winning record and 4 of the last 5 games after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick:

Kansas City Royals (+220)

Cleveland Guardians @ Tampa Bay Rays – 2:10PM ET

The Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays will be playing the third and final game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one the Guardians picked up the victory. In game number two the Rays ended up grabbing the win. Now in game three they will be looking to clinch the series with a victory.

Tony Battalio

Despite the fact that the Cleveland Guardians are very young this season this team has a lot of fight and they nearly completed a great comeback win here in this one. They are now heading to the finale of this three game weekend series looking to grab a victory on Sunday to clinch the series. It would be a much-needed series win as the Tampa Bay Rays are ahead of them in the wildcard by just a few games and they trail the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central by just a few games. As the Guardians come into this game with a record of 51-49 through their first 100 games of the season.

The Tampa Bay Rays grinded out a nice victory and survived a furious Cleveland comeback to get the win on Saturday. With the win the Rays make up the game they lost on Friday to Cleveland in the wildcard standings. Now they will head into the finale looking to clinch the series on Sunday afternoon. Tampa Bay is quietly putting together a solid season as they come into this game seven games above the .500 mark through the first 101 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. However, I have them losing the finale of the series to the Cleveland Guardians.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians (+165)

Brandon Lowe and Yandy Diaz both homered for the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday to help them take down the Cleveland Guardians by a score of 6-4. It was an offensive performance that was overdue as the two previous games were a severe struggle at the plate for Tampa (1 run combined in the previous 2 games). Corey Kluber struck out 10 as he improved his record to 2-0 against his former team where he won multiple Cy Young awards.

The Rays should be able to get yet another great outing from their starter on Sunday, as All Star Shane McClanahan is taking the mound. He has gone six or more innings and allowed 2 runs or less in 13 consecutive starts and that is not a man I will be looking to bet against. I think he gets the job done and helps his guys get another multi-run victory.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 (+110)

The Tampa Bay Rays are third in the AL East with a 54-47 record. Tampa Bay has lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 6-4 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The Rays are 22nd in the league scoring 4.18 runs per game and are ranked 6th in the league allowing 3.98 runs per game. Tampa Bay will start Shane McClanahan tonight who is 10-3 for the season with a 1.76 ERA. The Rays have won 7 of the last 8 home games against teams with a winning record and 13 of the last 16 games against teams with a winning record.

The Cleveland Guardians are second in the AL Central with a 51-49 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are currently tied at 1-1 in the series against the Rays. Cleveland is 16th in the league scoring 4.48 runs per game and is ranked 15th in the league allowing 4.35 runs per game. The Guardians will start Bryan Shaw tonight who is 4-2 for the season with a 5.45 ERA. Cleveland has won 5 of the last 7 games against left-handed starters and 5 of the last 7 road games against teams with a winning record.

Marko’s MLB Pick:

Tampa Bay Rays (-200)

Seattle Mariners @ Houston Astros – 2:10PM ET

The Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros will be playing the second game of their four game weekend series in this one. The Astros have already picked up wins in both game one and game two. In game three the Mariners finally got a win to keep their hopes of a series split alive.

Tony Battalio

The Houston Astros finally allowed the Seattle Mariners to beat them in their six-game between the two teams in the last week and a half. Now they will be looking to bounce back in the finale of this four-game series on Sunday and take three out of four to clinch the series victory. Despite the loss, the Astros are still one of the best teams in baseball at the moment and are running away with the American League West division. As they come into this game with 66 victories through their first 102 ballgames and a double-digit lead in the division.

The Seattle Mariners’ risky strategy of pinch-hitting for their All-Star rookie paid off. As they benched Julio Rodriguez and a pinch hitter came through to help lead the Mariners to the victory. Now the Mariners will look to come back on Sunday afternoon and win another game and split this four-game series against the Astros. Seattle is quietly having a good season but it’s being overshadowed by Houston’s solid start as they’ve won 55 out of their first 102 games of the year. However, I have them losing the series finale to Houston.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

Houston Astros (-135)

Jeffery Thomas

You usually don’t see an All-Star getting pinch-hit for in the clutch moments but it worked for Seattle in their win on Saturday. Abraham Toro came in and hit for Julio Rodriguez and delivered a two-run RBI single in the ninth inning to lift the Seattle Mariners over the AL West leading Houston Astros. It was the first time that Seattle beat Houston in five tries, dating back to June 8. They’ll now have a chance to salvage a split in this series with George Kirby (2-3 3.50 ERA) getting the start against Houston’s Jake Odorizzi (4-3 4.25 ERA).

Odorizzi was tagged for six runs last time out in a loss to the Oakland Athletics so he will be looking to bounce back against this very dangerous Seattle team. I think his bad form continues in this one and the Mariners will be able to steal yet another game on the road in the final meeting between these two teams of the season.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Seattle Mariners (+110)

The Houston Astros are on top of the AL West with a 66-36 record. The Astros have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are currently leading 2-1 in the series over the Seattle Mariners. The Astros are 13th scoring 4.57 runs per game and are ranked third in the league allowing 3.43 runs per game. Houston will start Jake Odorizzi tonight who is 4-3 for the season with a 4.25 ERA. The Astros have won 10 of the last 12 games played on Sunday and 14 of the last 20 games when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The Seattle Mariners are second in the AL West with a 55-47 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 5-4 win over the Astros. The Mariners are 23rd in the league scoring 4.11 runs per game and 5th in the league allowing 3.91 runs per game. Seattle will start George Kirby tonight who is 2-3 for the season with a 3.50 ERA. Seattle has won 8 of the last 9 games when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game and 20 of the last 26 road games.

Houston Astros (-135)
