Detroit Tigers @ Cleveland Guardians – 1:40PM ET

The Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians will be playing the fourth and final game of their four game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Guardians who got the win. In game number two the Guardians added another win to clinch at least a share of the series. In game three the Guardians officially clinched the series victory with another huge win.

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Tigers were absolutely crushed in their game against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday afternoon. Even when everybody thought Detroit did score a run in the top of the ninth the play was overturned and they would end up losing by a score of 0 to 10. It didn’t take long for the Tigers pitcher Michael Pineda to give up runs as he gave up eight within the first two innings. This loss now puts Detroit at risk of getting swept in this four game weekend series. Which is unusual for them as they’ve dominated Cleveland so far this season, or at least up until now.

The Cleveland Guardians plated double digit runs en route to another big victory over the Detroit Tigers. 2022 home run derby participant, Jose Ramirez hit two huge homeruns in their win on Saturday. The Guardians will be looking to complete the four-game sweep heading into the finale of the series before getting the week off for the All-Star break. The victory put Cleveland two games above .500 with a record of 46-44 through their first 90 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. I have them winning this series finale as well and heading into the All-Star break on a four game winning streak.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians -1.5

As expected, the Cleveland Guardians took game three of their series with the Detroit Tigers at home and will now have their eyes on a sweep Sunday afternoon. It was a blowout win for Cleveland, who were swept earlier this month by the Tigers and are now looking to return the favor. Starting pitcher Cal Quantrill was able to do his job on the mound, pitching 6 strong innings of shutout ball before handing it over to the bullpen to bring the victory home.

The Tigers starter Michael Pineda only lasted two innings, giving up 8 earned runs and was tagged with the loss to put his record at 2-5 for the season. It’s Shane Beiber versus Detroit’s bullpen on Sunday and we should expect yet another Cleveland victory in this one. Beiber is coming off a rare complete game outing, where he only gave up one run to the Chicago White Sox and will have all the confidence in the world. He’ll face no issues against this lineup and I see another blowout on the horizon.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians -1.5

Baltimore Orioles @ Tampa Bay Rays  – 1:40PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays will be playing the third and final game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Rays who picked up the win. In game number two the Orioles got the win to even up the series heading into the finale.

Tony Battalio

The night after getting their lengthy winning streaks snapped, the Baltimore Orioles bounced back and won on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays. After their win the finale on Sunday becomes that much more important as it is now a winner takes the series game. Despite going down by two runs after the first inning Baltimore battled back, then took the game in the extras and picked up the win. They come into this series finale one game above the .500 mark with a record of 46-45 through their first 91 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The Tampa Bay Rays had the perfect opportunity to win the first two games of the series. After jumping out to a quick lead in their first at bat they held that lead throughout the majority of the game before giving it up late. They would go on to lose in 11 innings and now they will be looking to bounce back and win the finale and take the series heading into the All-Star break. They come into the final game of the first half of the season with a record of 50-41 through their first 91 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

Baltimore Orioles (+135)

The Baltimore Orioles put an end to their losing streak at Tropicana Field on Saturday by taking down the Tampa Bay Rays 6-4 in 11 innings. Prior to this win, the Os had lost their last 10 games in Tampa including the loss on Friday that ended their season long winning streak which was also 10 games.

This was win number 46 for them, as they are already approaching their win total of 52 from last year and it’s not even the All Star break yet. Sunday’s series finale will likely favor the home team though, as Baltimore will have Jordan Lyles going on the mound. He is a completely different pitcher on the road, sporting a pretty bad ERA away from home of 5.52. Last time he faced the Rays they were able to score five against him in just 5 innings and I see a similar outing this time around. That early offense will be enough to get the win for the Rays.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Tampa Bay Rays (-160)

Seattle Mariners @ Texas Rangers – 2:35PM ET

The Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers will be playing the fourth and final game of their four game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Mariners who got the win. In game number two the Mariners added another win to clinch at least a share of the series. In game three the Mariners won again to clinch the series.

Tony Battalio

The Seattle Mariners added another win to their already lengthy wind streak in Saturday’s game. The streak now sits at 13 as they will be looking to complete the sweep over their American League West division rivals, the Texas Rangers on Sunday. Due to their impressive winning streak the Mariners have managed to climb into second place of the division and now sit only 10 games back of first. They come into this game with a record of 50-42 through their first 92 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The Texas Rangers just can’t seem to get it together this season regardless of the amount of money they spent over the off-season. They have fallen all the way down to seven games below .500 and sit in third place of the American League West division. They will be hoping that the All-Star break gives them a chance to rest up and rejuvenate themselves and that they can come out a lot stronger in the second half of the year. As they come into this game with a record of 41-48 through their first 89 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

Seattle Mariners (-140)

The Seattle Mariners got lucky win number 13 in a row on Saturday, this time in extra innings taking down the Texas Rangers 3-2. Their record now sits at 50-42 and the Ms are inching closer and closer to the franchise record of 15 straight wins. They are cutting it close but still coming through, as this was their 7th one-run victory during the winning streak. Seattle has a total of 21 one-run victories, which is tied with Toronto for the most in the majors.

Chris Flexen is next up to pitch for the Mariners as he puts his career unbeaten record on the line against the Texas Rangers (4-0 2.53 ERA in five starts). He will be opposed by Rangers’ rookie Glenn Otto who has given up 10 earned runs in his last two starts at home. That doesn’t bode well against the hottest team in baseball and I see them carrying this winning streak into the All Star break.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Seattle Mariners (-140)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Colorado Rockies – 3:10PM ET

The Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies will be playing the third and final game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Rockies who picked up the win. In game number two the Rockies got the win to clinch the series victory heading into the finale.

Tony Battalio

The Pittsburgh Pirates come into this game on a four game losing streak as they are in danger of being swept by the Colorado Rockies over the weekend. The Pirates have lost six out of their last 10 games on the year and are currently 12 games out of first place in the National League Central division. They have a record of 38-54 through their first 92 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. After winning five out of their first seven games on this lengthy road trip they are now in danger of losing their last five in a row heading into the All-Star break.

The Colorado Rockies are certainly enjoying the weekend as they have had no problem pushing around Pittsburgh on the diamond. They have been red hot on this homestand as they have won five out of the first six games. This will be their third series win in a row as they took three out of four from the Diamondbacks, three out of four from the Padres, and at least two out of three from the Pirates. They have been a tough team to beat at home during July as they have won seven of their nine home games so far. I look for them to make it eight out of 10 in this one as they pick up another victory and complete the sweep.

There wasn’t much offense in the game at Coors Field on Saturday, but the Colorado Rockies still came away with their 5th straight victory. It was a 2-0 defeat of the Pittsburgh Pirates thanks to Kris Bryant’s three hits and run driven in. Charlie Blackmon also extended his hitting streak out to seven games while Jose Urena pitched six scoreless innings in the win. Colorado is now 9-6 since Bryant returned from injury on June 27 and he has reached base safely in 18 straight games, which is the third-longest active streak in the league.

The Rockies clinched another series win with that victory Saturday and are now 12-3 since being swept by Cleveland in mid-June. The ball will be in the hands of Austin Gomber to try and extend this winning stretch and he has won his last two outings at home. I think they finish off the sweep of the Pirates on Sunday and extend Pittsburgh’s losing streak out to 5 games.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Colorado Rockies

Milwaukee Brewers @ San Francisco Giants – 4:05PM ET

The Milwaukee Brewers and San Francisco Giants will be playing the fourth and final game of their four game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Brewers who got the win. In game number two the Giants added a win to tie the series. In game three the Giants won again to clinch at least a share of the series.

Tony Battalio

The Milwaukee Brewers are now in danger of losing this four game series after winning game one. Despite the fact that they remain in first place of the National League Central division they have hit a bit of a rough patch. They have lost seven out of their last 10 games on the season and come into this game on a two game losing streak. Overall on the year they have a record of 50-42 through their first 92 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The San Francisco Giants are in a position to get a big four game series victory and take three out of four from one of the top teams in the National League at the moment. They have won six out of their last 10 games on the year and come into this game on a two game winning streak. They are currently 47-43 through their first 90 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. I look for them to pick up win number 48 in this game and complete the four game weekend series sweep.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

San Francisco Giants

The long four-game series between the San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Brewers will be coming to an end on Sunday after the Giants won 2-1 on Saturday. That was their second straight win of the series after dropping the opening game 3-2 back on Friday. The advantages are once again on the side of San Fran for the game on Sunday as Logan Webb is taking the mound for them against Brewers right hander Jason Alexander.

Webb has only given up one run in his last two outings which have spanned over 14 innings while Alexander is allowing a .314 batting average to opponents in his nine starts this season. I like the Giants to go into the All Star break on a high note and taking the last three games of this series.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

San Francisco Giants
