Cleveland Guardians @ New York Yankees – 1:35PM ET

The Cleveland Guardians and the New York Yankees will be playing the finale of their three game series in this one. New York has already secured the win now they will be looking to complete the sweep.

Tony Battalio

The Cleveland Guardians offense so far this season doesn’t want to show up on the weekends. As they once again failed to generate more than a few runs in their second straight loss to the Bronx Bombers. This comes after a weekday sweep over the Chicago White Sox that was full of runs. Now they will be looking to preserve some momentum and try to capture the finale in this series. As they come into this game with a record of 8-7 through their first 15 games of the year.

The New York Yankees are living up to their Bronx Bombers nicknames as homeruns have been most of the reason they are on the verge of sweeping the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday afternoon. Now the Yankees come into this one with a record of 9-6 through their first 15 games of the season. They are currently in second place of the American League East division as they are one game behind the Toronto Blue Jays. As for the result of this one I am taking the Guardians to take the series finale.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (+188)

Jeffery Thomas

On Saturday, the New York Yankees rallied in the 9th inning to get past the Cleveland Guardians 5-4 thanks to a walk-off pinch hit single by Gleyber Torres. The real news came after the game though, when some rowdy fans in the right-field bleachers started pelting the Guardians’ outfielders with beer cans and bottles. Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and other Yankee players had to halt their celebrations to come and try and calm the crowd, and it was just a bad scene for the fans of New York. Nonetheless, the win was still tallied and that was the second straight to begin this series and now the Bronx Bombers will aim for the sweep in Sunday’s finale.

The Yankees will turn to their ace Gerrit Coke On Sunday as he is still in search of his first win of the season. I think this is the game where he finally puts it all together at home and will get the run support from his star-studed offense to get the win.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-225)

Marko Nadin

The New York Yankees have started the season quite well as they are second in the AL EAst with a 9-6 record. They won the first two games against Cleveland in the series by 4-1 and 5-4. The Yankees are scoring only 3.16 runs per game which ranked them in 27th place in the league. Luckily, they are ranked third in the league allowing only 2.77 runs per game. The Yankees will start Gerrit Cole tonight who is at 6.35 ERA this season. The Yankees have won 21 of the last 30 games after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The Cleveland Guardians are on top of the AL Central with a  7-7 record. Before losing the first two games of the series against the Yankees, the Guardians won three straight against the Chicago White Sox. Cleveland is the second-best scoring team in the league with 5.31 runs per game and is ranked last second with .270 AVG and 7.65 OVS. Cleveland will start Aaron Civale night who is 0-1 this season with a 6.14 ERA. Cleveland has won five of the last 6 games when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-225)

Toronto Blue Jays @ Houston Astros – 2:10PM ET

The Toronto Blue Jays and the Houston Astros will be playing the final game of their three game series in this one. The Blue Jays have already clinched the series with a pair of wins on Friday and Saturday. Now they will be looking to complete the sweep on Sunday afternoon.

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Blue Jays have gotten off to a fast start over the first three weeks of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Toronto comes into this one looking to sweep the Houston Astros in this one in a series that could be a potential preview of the American League Championship Series. Toronto comes into this one with a record of 10-5 through their first 15 games of the season. They have picked up a pair of close wins in the first two games and now they have a great opportunity for the sweep as Kikuchi takes the mound for the Jays.

The Houston Astros have gotten this season off to a disappointing start as they come into this one with a record of 6-8 on the season through their first 14 games. Houston is expected to be one of the top favorites to bring home the American League pennant and the World Series. However, as of right now at least it seems like they will have a lot to figure out from now until October if their level of play stays at this rate. As for the result of this one I am taking the Toronto Blue Jays to complete the sweep over the Houston Astros.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (+116)

Jeffery Thomas

George Springer is now a Blue Jay but he made his name in the league as a Houston Astro and on Saturday he played his first game against his former team. He was welcomed by the fans with a standing ovation and moments later hit a lead off homerun to get things started. The Jays went on to win the game 3-2 to become the first team in the American League to reach the 10 win plateau. The Blue Jays also lead the entire league in home runs with 20 and have hit 4 in the first two games of this series (both wins). They will go for the road sweep on Sunday.

We’ll see how the rest of the season plays out but as of right now the Blue Jays are looking like it’s finally all coming together and they are ready to make some serious noise as a contender. The Astros have lost 4 straight games and are averaging just 1.75 runs a game in that span so offense has been hard to come by and there’s no reason to believe things will just magically get better on Sunday. I’m going to continue to back Toronto and take them to finish off this sweep .

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (+116)

Marko Nadin

The Houston Astros are fourth in the AL West with a 6-8 record. They have lost the last four games, two in the series against Toronto and previously in the series against the Los Angeles Angels. The Astros are ranked fifth in the league with 1.02 home runs per game but are only 25th in the league scoring 3.36 runs per game The Astros will start Luis Garcia who is 1-0 this season with a 2.79 ERA. The Astros have won 13 of the last 18 games against opponents with a positive record over 60%.

The Toronto Blue Jays are on top of the AL East with a 10-5 record. They lost the first two games against the Astros and that makes them even more ready to go strong tonight. The Blue Jays average league-best 1.36 home runs per game and are ranked 16th in the league scoring 4.02 runs per game. Toronto will start Yusei Kikuchi who is 0-1 this season with a 3.24 ERA. They have won 9 of the last 11 games against AL West teams and 8 of the last 11 games as an underdog.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (+116)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Chicago Cubs – 2:20PM ET

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Cubs will be playing the final game of their four game series in this one. The Pirates currently have a 2-1 lead in the series as they will be looking to clinch the series. While Chicago will be looking to get the split.

Tony Battalio

After dropping the first two games of this four game weekend series, the Chicago Cubs bounced back in a huge way as they got a 21, yes TWENTY ONE, run victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in game three on Saturday. Now the Cubs will be looking to follow up on their offensive explosion with another win to secure a 2-2 split in this four game series against their National League Central rivals. The Cubs come into this one with a record of 7-8 through their first 15 games of the season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates started off this series strong by taking the first two games of the series, and now they come into this one looking to recover from the three touchdown beating they took on Saturday. They lost by a score of 21-0 to the Cubs. However, they will be looking to put it in the past and get a huge series win. They come into this Sunday afternoon finale with a record of 7-8 through their first 15 games of the season. As for the result of this game I am taking the Pirates to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates (+144)

Jeffery Thomas

The Chicago Cubs may have had the win of the year already when they beat up on the Pittsburgh Pirates at home by the score of 21-0. Chicago had 23 hits in the win and it was their biggest win since beating the Boston Braves 24-2 back on July 3, 1945. Every player that batted for the Cubs recorded at least one hit and scored one run as they provided more than enough run support for Kyle Hendricks, who pitched seven innings of two-hit ball. The Pirates have now lost four of their last six games and Saturday was their biggest loss in franchise history.

A 21-run win for the Cubs sets them up for a huge letdown spot on Sunday as there is no way they can replicate that performance again. These two teams have the same record coming in so it’s not like what the Cubs did was due to the fact that they are the much better team. They just had a hot game at the plate and I think after that embarrassing loss the Pirates will be seeking revenge and I’m rolling with them for the bounce-back on Sunday.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates (+144)

Marko Nadin

The Chicago Cubs are fourth in the NL Central with a 7-8 record. After losing four straight  games to the Tampa Bay Rays and the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Cubs went off for a 21-0 win over the Pirates. The Cubs are the best scoring team in the league with 5.65 runs per game, have the best AVG of .273 and .772 OVS. The Cubs will start Justin Steele who is 1-1 for the season with a 4.50 ERA. The Cubs have lost 13 of the last 19 games after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game and 6 of the last 8 ourth games of a series.

The Pittsburgh Pirates right above the Cubs in the Division standings with a 7-8 record. After being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers, they won two straight against the Cubs. The Pirates are ranked 19th in the league with 3.7 runs per game and 29th allowing 5.72 allowed runs per game. The Pirates will start JT Brubaker who is 0-2 for the season with a 7.30 ERA. The Pirates have won 4 of the last 5 games against teams with losing records and 6 of the last 8 fourth games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Chicago Cubs (-172)

Texas Rangers @ Oakland Athletics – 4:07PM ET

The Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics will be playing the final game of their three game series in this one. The Rangers have already clinched the series with a pair of wins on Friday and Saturday. Now they will be looking to complete the sweep on Sunday afternoon.

Tony Battalio

The Texas Rangers are looking to grab a sweep over Oakland Athletics to work their way back towards .500 on the season. They had a slow start to the year and now find themselves with a record of 5-9 through their first 14 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Texas invested a lot of money into their team over the off-season and so far they haven’t quite seemed to get the results they were expecting. However it is early as it is still mid April and there is plenty of time left to get back on track.

The Oakland Athletics are having a somewhat decent start to the season. Despite the fact that they had a fire sale before the year they come into this one at the .500 mark through their first 16 games of the season. As they enter this series finale with a record of 8-8 on the season. However, the real problem seems to sit in their attendance numbers as fans just aren’t attending games. As for the result of this one I am taking the Oakland Athletics to pick up the win and avoid being swept.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Oakland Athletics (+108)

Jeffery Thomas

The Texas Rangers got a 2-0 win over the Oakland Athletics on Saturday thanks to Brad Miller driving in the game’s only runs with a hit in the eighth inning. This win helped the Rangers secure their first series win of the new season after losing the first four. It’s also the third straight game won by Texas after losing the previous five. Four Rangers pitchers combined to throw a 3-hitter but the win was credited to reliever Brock Burke who is now 2-0 on the season. The A’s have now lost three of their last four and will try and avoid the series sweep on Sunday with Cole Irvin on the mound.

The Athletics babe struggled to score runs in this series, only having 1 through the first two games but Sunday provides a great opportunity for them to get things going offensively. They will be facing Spencer Howard Garrett Richards who is making his first start of the year after a few relief appearances and I think the role change will be an adjustment for him. I think the As will jump on him early and ride that hot start to a much needed victory at home.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Oakland Athletics (+108)

Marko Nadin

The Oakland Athletics are third in AL West with a 8-8 record. After winning the series against the Baltimore Orioles by 3-1, they have lost the first two games against the Texas Rangers. Oakland is ranked 13th in the league with 4.29 runs per game and 3.84 allowed runs per game. They will start Cole Irvin at the mound today who is 1-1 for the season with a 4.32 ERA. Oakland has won 6 of the last 8 home games and 5 of the last 7 games going against a right-handed pitcher.

The Texas Rangers are at the bottom of the AL West with a 5-9 record. The last two wins against Oakland are some kind of boost for the Rangers but fact is that they will be one of the worst teams in the league this season. Texas is ranked 4th in the league scoring 5.2 runs per game but they allow 5.56 which ranked them 28th. The Rangers will start Garrett Richard who has 4.50 ERA this season. Texas has won 5 of the last 7 Sunday games but have lost 19 of the last 27 third games in a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Oakland Athletics (+108)

Milwaukee Brewers @ Philadelphia Phillies – 7:08PM ET

The Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies will be playing the final game of their three game series in this one. The Brewers and Phillies are tied one to one after Milwaukee’s win in game two on Saturday to set up this winner takes all finale on Sunday.

Tony Battalio

The Milwaukee Brewers were a serious dark horse World Series contender last season before being bounced early from the playoffs. Now this season they are once again a playoff contender as they come into this one with a record of 9-6 through their first 15 games of the season. They currently sit in second place in the National League Central division at the moment as they are one game behind the St.Louis Cardinals for first place.

The Philadelphia Phillies are having a disappointing start to the season. They come into this one with a record of 6-9 through their first 15 games of the season. They currently sit in fourth place in the National League East division. They will be looking to get a big series win in this one over the Milwaukee Brewers. As for the result of this one however, I’m taking the Brewers to win their second straight and take this series two games to one.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers (+144)

Jeffery Thomas

Adrian Houser went out and tossed six solid innings for his first win of the season, and led the Brewers to a 5-3 road win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. He outlasted Zach Wheeler if the Phillies who is off to an 0-3 start in the new year. The 2021 Cy Young runner-up is working his way back from right shoulder soreness, had showed some flashes in this game when he retired ten straight batters. The problem is, he followed that up by giving up four runs in the fifth inning and now the Phillies sit at 6-9 on the year.

The Phillies are one of the big market teams with big names that are going to be overvalued all season and we can take advantage of that. There is no reason for them to be the favorites in this game, with Aaron Nola and his 5.52 ERA  on the mound. I think the Brewers are the better-managed team and the team playing better at the moment so I’m rolling with them again.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers (+144)

Marko Nadin

The Philadelphia Phillies are fourth in the NL East with a 6-9 record. They won the series against Oakland entering the season and have lost every other after that and that will be the case against Milwaukee unless the Phillies win tonight. Philadelphia is ranked sixth in the league with 1.03 home runs per game and are 12th with 4.43 runs per game. They will start Aaron Nola who is 1-2 for the season with a 5.52 ERA. The Phillies have won 5 of the last 6 games against NL Central rivals.

The Milwaukee Brewers are second in the NL Central with a 9-6 record. They have won 5 of the last 6 games. The Brewers are 21st in the league scoring 3.64 runs per game and 14th allowing 3.85 runs per game. They will start Eric Lauer tonight who is 1-0 for the season with a 3.48 ERA. Milwaukee has won 3 of the last 4 games against Philadelphia. They have also won the last 4 games against a right-handed pitcher, 19 of the last 26 games played on Sunday but have lost 10 of the last 13 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Philadelphia Phillies (-172)
