Kansas City Royals @ St.Louis Cardinals – 1:15PM ET

The Kansas City Royals and St.Louis Cardinals will be meeting for the second time this season. The first time these two teams got together the Cardinals got the win in a rain-shortened two-game series that ended up being only one game. This time they will play three games.

Tony Battalio

The Kansas City Royals are coming into this one after being swept by the New York Yankees over the weekend. Now they will look to find a way to bounce back against their in-state rivals in this odd three game series. Due to a rainout in the first two game series of the year the first game of this series will be in St.Louis at Busch Stadium, while the final two will move to Kansas City at Kauffman Stadium. They come into this game with a record of 7-13 through their first 20 games of the season.

The St.Louis Cardinals are coming off of a four-game weekend series with the Arizona Diamondbacks that resulted in two games to two splits. They have gotten off to a decent start this season, as they come into this game with a record of 12-9 through their first 21 games of the season. The Cardinals are leading the season series with the Royals by one game to zero as they head into this three game series. As for the result of the series-opening game between these two teams I am taking the Cardinals to pick up the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-168)

Jeffery Thomas

The Kansas City Royals and St.Louis Cardinals will start up a three-game series on Monday in a battle of the two Midwest teams. I’m sure the Royals will be happy to see a new team after getting swept by the New York Yankees over the weekend and being outscored 21-6 in the process. It’s been a rough start to the year for the Royals who have won just 7 of their first 20 games and will now play a Cardinals team coming off a series split with the Arizona Diamondbacks. St.Louis closed out that series on Sunday by tallying from a 5-3 deficit late to win 7-5. The Cardinals are now 12-9 on the year and still sit 2 games back of the Brewers for first place in the NL Central.

The Royals aren’t a team I’m ever looking to back and are a team that has lost 5 of their 7 road games this season. Steven Matz is taking the mound for the Cards and has limited opposing teams to just 2 or fewer runs in two of his last three starts. I see another quality performance from him in this one, leading the home team to victory.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-168)

Marko Nadin

The St.Louis Cardinals are second in the NL West with a 12-9 record. They are coming off a 7-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks in a series that finished 2-2. The Cardinals are sixth in the league allowing 3.32 runs per game and fifth with allowing 0.66 home runs per game. St.Louis will start Steven Matx tonight who is 2-1 for the season with a 6.11 ERA. The Cardinals have won 5 of the last 6 interleague games and 20 of the last 27 games when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The Kansas City Royals are fourth in the AL Central with a 7-13 record. They are coming into the series against the Cardinals after being swept by the New York Yankees in three games. The Royals are 26th in the league scoring 3.3 runs and allowing 4.92 runs per game. The Royals will start Zach Greinke tonight who is 0-1 for the season with a 2.86 ERA. Kansas City has won 4 of the last 5 interleague games and 5 of the last 6 games played on Monday.

Noah’s MLB Pick: Kansas City Royals (+142)

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Miami Marlins – 6:40PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins will be playing the first game of their three game series on Monday. As the two teams will meet for a total of six games over the next 10 days. Arizona is coming off a series with St.Louis, while Miami is coming off of a series with Seattle.

Tony Battalio

The Arizona Diamondbacks are coming off a four game series split with the St.Louis Cardinals. Now they will be looking to use that momentum in this series against the Miami Marlins. Arizona is having a bit of a rough start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season as they come into this game with a record of 10-13 through their first 23 games of the season. They are currently in last place of the National League West as they are five games back of the first place. They will be looking to snap their one game losing streak after their loss on Sunday.

The Miami Marlins are another team in a similar situation to the Arizona Diamondbacks. They weren’t expected to be very competitive this season and it’s showing the predictions correct with their slow start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. The Marlins are coming off of a surprising series win against the Seattle Mariners, as they won the first two games and dropped Sunday’s finale. As for the result of this one I am going with the Miami Marlins to get the win over the Arizona Diamondbacks in this series opening clash.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Miami Marlins (-154)

Jeffery Thomas

The Arizona Diamondbacks will enter this series with the Miami Marlins off of a series split with the St. Louis Cardinals. After dropping game 1, the DBacks won games 2 and 3 before losing the series finale 7-5 on Sunday. Their previous series before that they were also able to take two games off of the Los Angeles Dodgers so this is a team that can’t be underestimated too hard. The Marlins I’m sure will be well aware of this and should be feeling good coming off their series win over the Seattle Mariners over the weekend. Miami dropped the series finale on Sunday but prior to that were on a seven game winning streak.

The Marlins have won three straight series and I think by the end of this one it will be an even four. They are allowing the fifth least amount of runs in the league and should have issues limiting this Arizona offense that doesn’t pose many threats. The Diamondbacks have the league’s worst batting percentage and score the 29th least amount of runs so I’m not seeing them generating much offense in this game let alone series. Give me the Marlins to win this one big.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Miami Marlins -1.5 (+146)

Marko Nadin

The Miami Marlins are second in the NL East with a 12-9 record. They are coming off a 7-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners that put an end to their seven-game winning streak. The Marlins are 18th in the league scoring 4.07 runs per game and 8th allowing 3.56 per game. Miami will start Pablo Lopez tonight who has had a great start of the season as he is 3-0 with a 0.67 ERA. The Marlins have won the last 5 games against teams with a losing record and the last 4 games when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are at the bottom of the NL West with a 10-13 record. They are coming off a 7-5 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in a series in which both teams split the four games. Arizona is the worst team in the league when it comes to scoring with 3.14 runs per game and they are ranked 13th in the league with 3.92 allowed runs per game. Arizona will start Zach Gallen, who has a 0.60 ERA for the season. The Diamondbacks have lost 12 of the last 17 games against NL East opponents.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Miami Marlins (-154)

Minnesota Twins @ Baltimore Orioles – 7:05PM ET

The Minnesota Twins and Baltimore Orioles will be playing the first game of their four game series in this one. As the Twins are one of the hottest teams in baseball at the moment, while the Orioles are below .500. Both teams will be looking to gain some more momentum with this series.

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins have been hot as of late as they are coming into this one with a record of 13-9 through their first 22 games of the season. They have a record of 9-1 in their last ten as they have been on fire over the last week and a half. Now they will be looking to carry that momentum over into this series with the Baltimore Orioles. They are currently in first place of the American League Central at the moment as they have a 3.5 game lead over the Cleveland Guardians. Starting for them in this one will be Chris Paddock who is 0-2 on the year with a 3.68 Earned Run Average.

The Baltimore Orioles are having a rough start to the season. As they come into this game with a record of 8-14 through their first 22 games of the season. They play in the toughest division in Major League Baseball as they have to deal with four of the top teams in the American League year in and year out. They are coming off of a surprising series win over the Boston Red Sox after winning the final two games on Saturday and Sunday. As for the result of this one however, I have the Minnesota Twins getting the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-158)

Jeffery Thomas

The Baltimore Orioles were able to take it to their division rival Boston Red Sox over the weekend, winning two of three. The Orioles are still in last place in the AL East but are just now within 0.5 game of catching Boston and moving up in the standings in the early going. They’ll have that opportunity to move up here in this series with the Minnesota Twins who also won their weekend series. They took two of three from the Tampa Bay Rays including their 9-3 win in the series finale on Sunday. Carlos Correa had his fourth straight multi-hit game for Minnesota as he continues to try and acclimate himself with his new ball club.

Beating the Red Sox a couple times isn’t going to get me to forget how bad this Orioles team truly is and they will face a tall task in this series against the Twins. This will be a great spot for Minnesota’s offense to stay hot against a struggling pitching staff that will give Tyler Wells (0-2, 5.54 ERA) the start on Monday. I like the Twins to get the series started off on a positive note.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-158)

Marko Nadin

The Baltimore Orioles are at the bottom of the AL East with a 8-14 record. They are coming off back-to-back wins over the Boston Red Sox after losing the previous five games. The O’s are the second-worst offense in the league scoring 3.14 runs per game and are ranked 24th allowing 4.55 runs per game. Baltimore will start Tyler Wells tonight who is 0-2 for the season with a 5.54 ERA. The Orioles have lost 55 of the last 79 games against AL Central opponents and 51 of the last 66 games when their opponent scored 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The Minnesota Twins are on top of the AL Central with a 13-9 record. They have won 9 of the last 10 games and are coming off a 9-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Minnesota is 16th in the league scoring 4.14 runs per game and fifth allowing 3.31 runs per game. The Twins will start Chris Paddack, who is 0-2 for the season with a 3.68 ERA. Minnesota has won the last 7 games on grass and the last 6 games when their opponent allowed 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-158)

New York Yankees @ Toronto Blue Jays – 7:07PM ET

For the second time this season the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays will face off. The last time these two American League East rivals met they split a four game series. Now they will meet up for a three game series this week.

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees are the top team in the American League and one of the top teams in Major League Baseball at the moment. They are coming into this game with a record of 16-6 through their first 22 games of the season. They just finished off their third consecutive sweep as they have now swept the Cleveland Guardians, Baltimore Orioles, and Kansas City Royals. They are currently on a nine game winning streak and are looking like serious favorites in the American League at the moment.

The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to be one of the favorites in the American League this season. They have a real opportunity to prove that in this weekday series against the New York Yankees. The Blue Jays come into this game with a record of 15-8 through their first 22 games of the season. They are coming off of a series win over the Houston Astros to officially win the season series four games to two. As for the result of this series opening game with the Yankees I am taking the Toronto Blue Jays to pick up the win over New York.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (+106)

Jeffery Thomas

A traditional AL East will start up on Monday when the Yankees travel up north for a battle with the Toronto Blue Jays. The Yankees are in remarkable form at the moment and come into this series having swept their last three opponents. The nine game winning streak consists of wins over the Guardians, Orioles, and Royals but this next one will definitely be a step up in competition. The Blue Jays have won or split every series this season but yet are still 1.5 games back of these Yankees for first place in the division. It’s still very early in the season but I’m sure Toronto will want to gain some ground in that race and make a statement in this series.

The Blue Jays haven’t quite been king it at the plate like was expected of them this season and that’s why im comfortable here backing the red-boy Yankees again. There’s times where you just get on and ride the wave as long as you can and it seems like this Yankees team is one to keep backing until they give you a reason not to.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-124)

Marko Nadin

The Toronto Blue Jays are second in the AL East with a 15-8 record. They are coming off back-to-back wins over the Houston Astros. The Blue Jays are second in the league, hitting 1.49 home runs per game and 17th scoring 4.08 runs per game. Toronto will start Ross Stripling who has a 3.60 ERA for the season. Toronto has won 6 of the last 7 games played on Monday and 37 of the last 53 games when their opponent scored 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 16-6 record. They have won the last 9 games sweeping the series against Cleveland, Baltimore and Kansas City. The Yankees are fourth in the league with 4.83 scored runs per game and are ranked third allowing 3.04 runs per game. The Yankees will start Johnathan Montgomery tonight who is 0-1 for the season with a 2.70 ERA. The Yankees have won the last 5 games when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game and the last 4 opening games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-124)

Seattle Mariners @ Houston Astros – 8:10PM ET

These two American League West divisional rivals are set to meet for a three game series in “H-Town”. Earlier this year they played a three game set in Seattle that the Mariners took two games to one.

Tony Battalio

The Seattle Mariners are a young team who came very close to sneaking into the playoffs last season. This year they are still that same young team, but this time around they are expected to find themselves in the playoffs as they are looking like one of the top favorites in the American League West. Seattle comes into this game with a record of 12-10 through their first 22 games of the season. They are currently in second place in the West.

The Houston Astros were expected to be the top favorites in the American League West. However, they are having an incredibly slow start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They come into this one with a record of 11-11 through their first 22 games of the season. They are looking to rebound from a series loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. They are still a top team in the league and they have a ton of time to turn it around. As for the result for this one however, I’m going with the Mariners to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (+110)

Jeffery Thomas

The Houston Astros over the weekend faced a problem that they have not yet to solve yet this season and that is the Toronto Blue Jays. The Jays took two of three from Houston and that is the second series win over the Astros for them in the past two weeks. Those struggles have the Astros with a .500 record and a spot in third place in the AL West, when they were the favorites to win the division. The team directly above them in the standings in their opponent for this series, the Seattle Mariners. The Ms are also coming off a series loss over the weekend to the Marlins, but their win on Sunday avoided a sweep and snapped their four-game losing streak.

This is a pretty even matchup and should set us up for a very competitive and interesting series. For Game 1 though I’ll have to side with Seattle slightly, and that’s because of the pitching matchup. Marco Gonzales isn’t lighting the world on fire but he is performing better than Jake Odorizzi. Gonzales is also a lefty and will get a lineup that is constructed with a lot of left-handed bags so he should be able to neutralize them a bit. Sunday’s 7-3 win was a promising game from Seattle and I think they carry that momentum straight over to this game on Monday for the win.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (+110)

Marko Nadin

The Houston Astros are third in the AL West with a 11-11 record. They are coming off back-to-back losses to the Toronto Blue Jays after winning the previous four games. Houston is fifth in the league, hitting 1.22 home runs per game and 14th allowing 4.03 runs per game. The Astros will start Jake Odorizzi tonight who is 1-2 for the season with a 6.00 ERA. Houston has won the last 4 games against a left-handed pitcher and 5 of the last 7 games played on Monday.

The Seattle Mariners are second in the AL West with a 12-10 record. They are coming off a 7-3 win over the Miami Marlins that put an end to their four game losing streak. Seattle is 10th in the league scoring 4.65 runs per game and allowing 3.86 runs per game. Seattle will start Marco Gonzalez who is 1-2 for the season with a 3.86 ERA. Seattle has won 4 of the last 5 opening games of a series and 20 of the last 26 games when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-130)
