The Texas Rangers have looked incredible throughout the first two rounds of the postseason as they have yet to lose a single game in their first five games of the playoffs. They went on the road and swept the Tampa Bay Rays in the wildcard round and then they swept the best team in the American League as they took down the Baltimore Orioles in only three games. Now they will be looking to grab their sixth consecutive victory to open up the postseason against their American League West division rivals, the defending World Series champions, the Houston Astros. Texas has looked absolutely unstoppable throughout the first two rounds of the playoffs, and they will be hoping to keep the momentum rolling here in this game on Sunday night as they look to win their first American League pennant in over a decade.
The Houston Astros come into this game looking to pick up a victory and take a step towards defending their American League pennant. They looked pretty solid throughout the divisional series round as they knocked off the American League Central division champions, the Minnesota Twins. The Houston Astros were the only team that received a bye into the divisional series round that advanced to the championship series, as the Atlanta Braves, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Baltimore Orioles were all knocked out in their respective division series. I expect to be a close and competitive game, but I have to roll with the team that has the momentum and that is why I’m going with the Texas Rangers to pick up the victory and this one on the road.
