New York Mets @ Miami Marlins – 6:40PM ET

The New York Mets and Miami Marlins will be playing the first game of their three game series in this one. They just met last weekend and it was the Mets who won that one three games to one. This is the third time these two National League East rivals will meet so far this season.

Tony Battalio

The New York Mets are coming into this game after an off day and now they will have a big National League East divisional series with the Miami Marlins. The Mets have been one of the best teams in Major League Baseball so far this year as they come into this game with a record of 45-26 through their first 71 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won six out of their last ten games on the year and are currently on a two game losing streak.

The Miami Marlins are coming into this game with a record of 32-36 through their first 68 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in fourth place in the National League East division. They have won five out of their last ten games on the season and are currently on a three game winning streak. As for the result of this game I am going with the New York Mets to pick up the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (+118)

Jeffery Thomas

The New York Mets got Thursday off and it probably came at the right time with them losing three of their last four games. Despite that slide they are still comfortably in first place in the NL East, sitting 4 games ahead of the Atlanta Braves. Their next opponent, the Miami Marlins are 11.5 games back at 4th place but are feeling good coking off a home sweep of the Colorado Rockies.

The Mets are the much better team but with Sandy Alcantara on the mound for Miami it’s hard to not boost their chances. He has 11 quality starts in his 14 outings and the third lowest ERA in all of baseball so you have to give them a chance every time he is out there. I’m going to roll with the Marlins here as they ride the confidence of their winning streak into this series opening win.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Miami Marlins (-138)

Marko Nadin

The Miami Marlins are fourth in the NL East with a 32-36 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 3-0 series win over the Colorado Rockies. Miami is ranked 13th in the league scoring 4.63 runs per game and 18th in the league allowing 4.36 runs per game. Sandy Alcantara will start for the Marlins tonight who is 7-2 for the season with a 1.72 ERA. Miami has won the last 6 home games and has lost 20 of the last 26 games played on Friday.

The New York Mets are on top of the NL East with a 45-26 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-0 series loss to the Houston Astros. The Mets are third in the league scoring 5.05 runs per game and are ranked 10th in the league allowing 4.14 runs per game. Taijuan Walker will start for the Mets tonight who is 5-2 for the season with a 2.88 ERA. The Mets have won 21 of the last 26 games following a loss and 20 of the last 26 games when their opponent allowed 2 runs or less in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-138)

Houston Astros @ New York Yankees – 7:05PM ET

The Houston Astros and New York Yankees will be playing the second game of their four game series in this one. In game number one it was the New York Yankees who got the win. Now they will be looking to secure at least a series split in game two.

Tony Battalio

The Houston Astros suffered a heartbreaking defeat to the New York Yankees on Thursday evening. They jumped out to an early three to zero lead in the top of the first inning but gave up three more in the bottom of the first as well. They went on to lose the game by a score of 7-6 and their record on the season dropped to 43-26 through their first 69 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won seven out of their last ten games on the year.

The New York Yankees just continue to win baseball games. They picked up a huge win in game one of this series in dramatic fashion and now come into game two of this series with a record of 52-18 through their first 70 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are by far the best team in baseball at the moment and have won eight out of their last ten games on the season. As for the result of this game I am going with the Houston Astros to bounce back and get a win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (+114)

Jeffery Thomas

The New York Yankees and Houston Astros kicked off what is sure to be a very entertaining four-game series on Thursday. The Yankees rallied from being down 3-0 and then later 6-3 to win the game 7-6 thanks to a four-run 9th inning that was capped off by Aaron Judge’s walk-off single.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak by Houston who is still running away with their division with a 9.5 game lead over the Texas Rangers. With Justin Verlander taking the mound on Friday it is a great chance for the Astros to avenge this loss and that’s what I’m expecting them to do. They had the Yankees beat but just faltered with some loose play from the bullpen but I’m banking on them delivering in the clutch in this one on the back of their veteran ace.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (+114)

Marko Nadin

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 52-18 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games including the series opener against the Houston Astros. The Yankees are second in the league scoring 5.14 runs per game and are on top of the league allowing 3.06 runs per game. The Yankees will start Luis Severino tonight who is 4-1 for the season with a 3.27 ERA. They have won the last 4 games against AL West opponents and the last 5 games against teams with a winning record over 60%.

The Houston Astros are on top of the AL West with a 43-26 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and came into the series against the Yankees after back-to-back wins over the New York Mets. The Astros are 16th scoring 4.43 runs per game and are ranked third in the league allowing 3.55 runs per game. Houston will start Justin Verlander tonight who is 8-3 for the season with a 2.30 ERA. The Astros have won 7 of the last 8 games against teams with a winning record and 7 of the last 10 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (+114)

Boston Red Sox @ Cleveland Guardians – 7:10PM ET

The Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Guardians will be playing the first game of their three game weekend series in this one. This is the first of two times they will be meeting this season. As both teams currently sit in a playoff spot in the American League at the moment.

Tony Battalio

The Boston Red Sox are coming into this game in the midst of an above average season. Unfortunately for them they happen to play in the hardest division in Major League Baseball. As their 39-31 record through their first 70 games of the season puts them in third place. To put that in perspective, they would be in first place in the American League Central division and second place in the American League West division. They have won eight out of their last ten games on the year.

The Cleveland Guardians are rolling at the moment, as they have won their last seven series in a row and now find themselves in first place of the American League Central division. They come into this game and series with the Red Sox with a record of 36-29 through their first 65 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They will look to keep it rolling as they have won eight out of their last ten games on the season. As for the result of this game I have the Cleveland Guardians picking up the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (+112)

Jeffery Thomas

The Boston Red Sox finished off their nine-game homestand by sweeping the Detroit Tigers and pushing their record up to 39-31 on the year. That record would have them in first place in the highly-competitive AL Central but lands them just at third place in the AL East (mainly because of the Yankees and their dominance).

Speaking of the AL Central the Sox will be taking on the Guardians who share the lead in the division with the Minnesota Twins after taking two of three in the past series. Both teams are riding hot streaks but there is a clear advantage to the Red Sox in this one. They got the day off on Thursday after a lengthy stint at home while Cleveland is coming off a long road trip with no rest day in between and having to travel back home. I like the red-hot Boston squad to steal this one on the road.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-132)

Marko Nadin

The Cleveland Guardians are on top of the AL Central with a 36-29 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Minnesota Twins. Cleveland is 11th in the league scoring 4.68 runs per game and is ranked 9th in the league allowing 4.12 runs per game. The Guardians will start Cal Quantrill tonight who is 4-4 for the season with a 3.77 ERA. Cleveland has won the last 6 games following a loss and the last 7 opening games of a series.

The Boston Red Sox are fourth in the AL East with a 39-31 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 3-0 series win over the Detroit Tigers. The Red Sox are 8th in the league scoring 4.78 runs per game and are ranked 6th in the league allowing 3.99 runs per game. Boston will start Nick Pivetta tonight who is 7-5 for the season with a 3.31 ERA. The Red Sox have won the last 6 games following a day off and 10 of the last 12 games when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-132)

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Atlanta Braves – 7:20PM ET

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves will be playing the first game of their three game weekend series in this one. This is a rematch of last years National League Championship Series and this is the second time they have met this season.

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off of a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds. They come into this game in first place of the National League West division with a record of 43-25 through their first 68 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won six out of their last ten games on the year and are currently on a three game winning streak at the moment. They currently hold a slim one game lead over the San Diego Padres at the moment.

The Atlanta Braves have been one of the hotter teams in Major League Baseball throughout the month of June. They come into this game with a record of 41-30 through their first 71 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in second place in the National League East. As for the result of this game I am going with the Los Angeles Dodgers to pick up the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-132)

Jeffery Thomas

The Los Angeles Dodgers started their road trip with a bang by sweeping out the Cincinnati Reds in three games. LA put up at least 8 runs in each game after averaging just 2.6 runs a game in the previous eight games so they are hoping that offensive funk is officially gone. That will be tested on Friday against Ian Anderson and the Atlanta Braves who just took three of four from the San Francisco Giants.

Anderson had a lights out performance in his last time out, pitching 6.2 shutout innings in a win over the Chicago Cubs. However, he gave up 4 or more runs in four of his last six starts so I’m not letting one good outing cloud my judgment on this pick. I have to roll with the more talented ball club who may just be getting their mojo back at the right time.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-132)

Marko Nadin

The Atlanta Braves are second in the NL East with a 41-30 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 3-1 series win over the San Francisco Giants. The Braves are 6th in the league scoring 4.83 runs per game and are ranked 11th in the league allowing 4.16 runs per game. The Braves will start Ian Anderson tonight who is 6-3 for the season with a 4.35 ERA. Atlanta has won 8 of the last 9 games against NL West opponents and 4 of the last 5 games played on Friday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are second in the NL West with a 43-25 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 3-0 series win over the Cincinnati Reds. The Dodgers are ranked the best in the league scoring 5.23 runs per game and are second in the league allowing 3.32 runs per game. They will start Julio Urias tonight who is 4-6 for the season with a 2.56 ERA. The Dodgers have won 5 of the last 6 games against right-handed starter and 45 of the last 65 opening games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-132)

Toronto Blue Jays @ Milwaukee Brewers – 8:10PM ET

The Toronto Blue Jays and Milwaukee Brewers will be playing the first game of their three game weekend series in this one. Both teams are coming into this one having decent seasons.

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Blue Jays come into this game with a record of 39-30 through their first 69 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won four out of their last six games of the year. They are currently on a one game winning streak at the moment. They were expected to be one of the top teams in the American League this season but have been above average up until this point.

The Milwaukee Brewers are coming into this game with a record of 40-32 through their first 72 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in first place in the National League Central division. They have won six out of their last ten games on the year and are currently on a one game winning streak as well. As for the result of this game I am going with the Milwaukee Brewers to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers (+134)

Jeffery Thomas

A 9-5 victory on Wednesday was the last result for the Toronto Blue Jays before getting Thursday off to travel to Milwaukee for a series with the Brewers. The Brewers were in action on Thursday, finishing off their series with the St. Louis Cardinals by winning 6-4. That victory gave them a split and kept the Cardinals and Brew at a deadlock atop the NL Central.

It’s been a slow decline for Milwaukee recently though, and I don’t like their chances in this game against Alek Manoah. He has an 8-2 record on the season with a 2.00 ERA and he should have no issues slowing down this already limited Brewers offense. Give me Toronto all day in this road game.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-158)

Marko Nadin

The Milwaukee Brewers are second in the NL Central with a 40-32 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-2 series against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers are 18th in the league scoring 4.43 runs per game and are ranked 14th in the league allowing 4.21 runs per game. Adrian Houser will be the starting pitcher for the Brewers tonight who is 4-7 for this season with a 4.24 ERA. Milwaukee has won 9 of the last 12 games against AL East opponents and 12 of the last 17 opening games of a series.

The Toronto Blue Jays are second in the AL East with a 39-30 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-1 series loss to the Chicago White Sox. The Blue Jays are 10th in the league scoring 4.73 runs per game and are ranked 16th with 4.35 allowed runs per game. Toronto will start Alek Manoah tonight who is 8-2 for the season with a 2.00 ERA. The Blue Jays have the last 4 games following a day off and the last 5 road games against teams with a winning record.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-158)
